Hi
I got a sound problem with my new ASUS P535, in which the phone is all the time thinking that i'm using the headset even when its unplugged, so no sound can be heard even the headset is unplugged only when somebody calls there is the ring tone, but nor the mike or the phone speaker are working
Any ideas?!?
P.S. I'm using WM6, & I already tried to flash it many times for no results!

Hi,
I had the same problem with my p535, but I found the way to fix it. The problem is that the micro switch was jammed in the headset-port, so to fix the problem; you should just hit hardly the bottom of the PDA onto a table or other hard surface. There is no problem with the software.

I have tried this solution but it didn't work.
Are you sure this is the only way to fix this problem.
Also when i use the device with the headset, the sound of the MP3's are like you listen something under water. And during a call, the opponent's voice sounds so deep, i can hardly hear it.
Than you have a bit bigger problem, the hole port is ****ed, maybe one of the connection is broken or the hole port is moved from where it should be. It just happening with mp3 or with phone as well? if the phone is not working as well with the headset, than you have to bring to service, 'couse the port is broken, if just the mp3 not workin' than I don't have a clue.

It worked for me! Thanks a lot!
I thought my PDA speaker was crapped someway..
Anyway, I did not hit it, just plugging in and out the mini jack connector several times within a short time.

Sound problem again (mini jack connector replacement)
Hello again!
My P535 made a long way since the prevoius sound problem.
My device's mini jack connector has been damaged, and I wish to replace it with a new one.
Could anyone help me how to replace the mini jack connector? Unfortunatelly the oroginal connector was so badly damaged that it cannot be used anymore.
My device cannot play sound and cannot record any voice, but the speaker and microphone is fully intact though. I have to repair it but I don't know what type of mini jack connector I need. I heared that if I use some incompatible connector that could damage the device for good.
I'd also find out that two wire must contact to allow the internal speaker and mike to function, for now, the device "thinks" a jack cable is plugged.
Sorry for my bad english..
Could anyone help?
Regards,
Xel
well, I have a bluetooth ad2p stereo headset (platrinocs), but the akkumulator got busted so I'm in a hurry to repair my phone's analog mini jack output, that will will solve the speaker and mike problem too.
/hovewer, the wireless bluetooth headsets has a serious disadvantage
It cannot connect automaticly to the bluetooth headset when a phone call is incoming, or when you enter proximity whith the headset or with the device (if you left either on desk). i've tried patches and apps to make autoconnect available, but no luck.. analog output is much more advance then bluetooth high quality audio for one reason the hardware eq and software mixers/
the main problem, is that the old mini jack output is damaged to dust, i cannot recognize it which type to replace. googling the specs of the device did not helped me identifying the mini jack connector. I've learned that there are many types, some of them are used to headset functions different at model types, even differs at manufacturers.
Please, anyone could help I would greatly appriciate it!
bye,
Xel

check mini jack output, plug in and move a bit carefully the mini jack cable in output.
probably some air duster or contact spray could help too.

thnx a lot... u r great! it works! u r my hero...
This is a strange problem i am facing
it started unexpectedly
the problem over here is that my phone is not able to recognize between earphones and speaker after connecting earphones
dont know whats the problem over here is
the earphones would work at first and then all of a sudden it stops to recognize it
this happened with two of my earphones (no earphone problem cause they work with other phones
is anybody else experiencing this problems?
after trying to figure out what is happening i opened up audio fx to see if its creating problems and this is what i saw
as u can see in the video above the phone is not connected to any earpiece
at 0.02 i connect the earphones and for just a second it recognizes the earphone and then keeps switching between headset and speaker mode
then the video contains various attempts of connecting earphones and getting the same result
Heres a logcat https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B--cxicb-CQGS2J1blVmUnVkNGM&authuser=0
(sorry cannot paste to pastebin ,since it exceeds max size limit)
Device:-XT1033
ROM:-AICP (happened with diff roms in the past too)
kernel:-hurtsky(again happened with another diff kernel in the past)

hmmm, ok,
Are they "simple" earphones ==> ones that doesn't have any call/music/volume triggers
Did you tried with the AUX-IN of a HiFi installation (with a jack-audio cable plugged to the AUX-IN of it)
Did you tried Apple vs non-apple earphones (the ground and microphones rings on the jack are usually reversed)
What i know about jack port is only that impedance is important for phones : that's the way the earphones are detected and how the triggers work when there are some.
At first read i have no idea about your problem, but it might be a dirty port OR an issue with the controller
You may read the following, and try to play with it:

1>No they are not simple earphones
2>no never tried using AUX-IN on moto g
3>No,no apple earphones were connected to it
the earphones that i used here was from samsung and karbonn(a local brand, that is)
these two earphones used to work with my phone but all of a sudden it stopped!!
inserting them sometimes gives a repeated sound of distortion(cant explain that ....but theres some noise)
Im having the same problem! It's definitely a phone issue... Thing is, I used it with my hudl brand aux cable and that works just fine with the phone but my headphones won't? (I don't know if this inf helps or hinders but I figured it might be important)

So apparently it works better with two-ring headphones, ones that don't have any play/pause buttons or microphones built in? Turns out my headphones have 3 rings on the jack. So apparently, i just have to buy a whole new pair of headphones that only have 2 rings but I don't see why I should spend anymore money just because Motorola ****ed up?
Hi,
I have a problem with my Z5. For a while now I've been thinking that there's a hardware issue with my jack socket since there was absolutely no audio coming out of my headphones or speakers via the jack-jack cable. But then I've read about SoundAbout and forced the phone to stream the audio through the cable - it worked like a charm. The only problem is when I disconnect the headphones from my phone, there will be no sound on my speaker and therefore I will have to switch those modes manually every time, which is quite annoying. Besides, it should be done my Smart Connect if I'm correct...
So the question is how on earth can I get Smart Connect back to work? I've tried installing different ROMs, disabling Smart Connect, updating it, clearing data and cache - nothing works :|
Hi Ziemny,
Are you on UB? You may need to flash it back to stock rom to verify your jack functionality.
Currently i also got same issues like yours even using stock one. Found out that i damaged the jack's flex cable as it was always pushed against the headphone connector on my jeans pocket.
Just bought a replacement jack and watertight stickers on Aliexpress and install it. Now everything now works as normal.
I also faced the same problem in mm and now on noughat also so i prety much sure that it's a hardware problem...

Using SoundAbout helped me find out it is not a hardware problem. Everytime I switch media streaming to jack, it works but it has to be forced by the app. I want to automatize the process, as it should work automatically in the first place.
Still found no way of switching sound profiles automatically :/
So guys, I need some help...my HTC U11 suddenly stopped to record voice/sounds (whatsapp, fb messenger) not even working with stock recorder, then people could not hear me when making calls. Restarted on safe mode and run all the diagnostics but it didn't pick the voice in any way, some weeks later also the charging phone didn't recognize type C earphones neither the type C dongle, I had to move it a little bit so it can connect normally...but it worked normally with the charger (a bit strange) So I took it to repair since is not under warranty anymore, everything works OK, phone turns on, no screen damage, camera, performance, all fine except the issues mentioned above. Thing is, technician said he replaced all microphones but the problem remains, also the charging port is loose (that I can understand) but he says that in order to make it work he would need to replace the whole motherboard, but it looks to me like too much since the phone is not dead at all. I'm no expert but it looks to me I am right, wouldn't be just enough with microphones and charging port flex replacement?I I sincerely hope some of you can give me a better idea or if I'm right or not, since of course replacing the whole motherboard would increase the replacement cost. Thanks for your help.
Why is it not under warranty anymore?

I'm from PerĂº and bought it from an external source since it is the 6 GB/128 GB version (tried to contact warranty but HTC said it was supposed to be seen by the origin country (phone was bought in Hong Kong) so you know, just by sending it over it would really cost a lot.
Send it back and get a refund. I highly advise you don't pay for anything and contact the supplier. They might cover the costs of postage if you ask nicely. If they don't, the cost of packaging and posting to HK won't be anywhere near the cost of the phone itself, or the cost of a motherboard.
Once you have your refund you can buy another phone from a location more reliable and closer to home as the 6/128 has now gone worldwide.

Dude!!! Yes!!! Same issue here. My phone doesn't recognize when it's been charged, and it only charges to 87% and the led light doesnt turn red at all. My mic isn't working either. When I make calls I have to have it on speaker so the other mics kick in. I have already replaced the charging port which also includes the main mic but no success. Hopefully someone will be able to help us. Other than that, u11 is great.

Hmmmm, I have to say i have some similar issues, except for the MIC problems. Connecting the official charger + cable does not charge the device. Nothing seems to happen. Connecting the official HTC USB-C headphones also does nothing. However when connecting the charger or the headphones and restarting the phone does work (i.e phones charges, headphones detected).
As said I do not have issues with the microphone. Seems software? Reset to Factory settings?

Sorry, can't remember. Do not have the phone anymore. After a very long HTC only path I'm on Huawei now
Hello,
A few days ago my earphones were working fine in my lenovo P2 but then one day it started to produce muffled sound.
I pulled the headphone jack up a little bit and after some twists only the right side was producing normal music. The headphones are working fine in computer and tried some other headphones also but the problem persists. I even tried the headphones that came with the phone but they are also having the same issue. The strange thing is that my other headphone Sennheiser HD 203 (I think it is one ring jack while the other headphones are 4 ringed) is working fine in it. What could be the issue.
Thanks
I also had the muffuling issue.
I had the issue from the stock ROM only, then went to Oreo but it was still their thou my fix was simple.
I flashed the lineage os 7.1.2 provided by @Wonder Wicked Witch and the problem is gone....do try this BTW everything is working on the ROM.
So do try it.I am currently using it.
I suggest a Hardware caused problem.
Check for collections of dust, hair and other debris that got stuck in the headphone jack. Use pliers to get it out.
Because "normal" headphones work fine and ones that go deeper in (with mic or controls ) don't, I really suggest you check that, because all the dust gets stuffed in to the end of the port, so jacks that aren't as long won't have any issue.

The audio is very bad when using a normal earphones, but when I use an Universal earphones like Ubon etc etc., it has the setting in it which makes the audio good.
