(In need of hardware repair Help) My Sony Z3 gives no display but the sounds work! - General Questions and Answers

The phone is Sony Xperia Z3 dual d6633
The problem: The phone gives no diplay but the sound is working and even when I press the camera button it gives sounds as if I'm taking pics...
Tried Solution: I replaced the LCD twice with new ones, and replaced the Main flex cable but still not working.
The phone actually was fixed before but I don't know where it was fixed. There is a thin wire wielded on the main board and I don't know where this wire should be connected! I took some pics of the main board and the weilded wire , please if you have experience with hardware or you've seen similar situation like this tell me what is the function of this wire and where should the other end be connected to?

Hello.
I was looking for some help with my Xperia J, i recently dropped and smashed this phone and it no longer it accessible.
I need to get the internal data from this phone as i have audio and video files which are very important to me, i have been able to gain a second hand Xperia J that has a cracked screen, i transferred over the internal board from my broken xperia to this second hand phone i now have but it does not seem to be able to start up when i try power it on? . Ive connected the phone to my PC but the computer fails to recognize the phone. can any one plese help me on this issue or maybe inform me of a way to recover these files.
Thank You
I guess that the smash caused some electronic component to fail..
And are you sure you replaced the screen on the board correctly.
And did you see something missing on the board?
Does the led lights up when you connect the charger? Does the phone vibrate if you press the power button,,,?!
More info buddy.maybe someone could help..
hit thanks if I helped you,
don't say it.....
sent from my Xperia E dual C1604....
stock deodexed cleaned Rom.....
Use Wondershare mobile to go bro
Sorry
Ok my bad for the lack of information.
I replaced the screen correctly because i later removed it and put original parts back in new phone to check and make sure it was still working.
Then i put the board i need to work in and nothing happens. ?
When i plug the phone into the wall socket and check with electric tester it is live.
When i use the PC i get no response.
Ive tried doing the power up and volume up - power down volume down - power on it's own and nothing happens.
I do not receive led lights when the buttons are pressed nor do i receive a vibrate.
The only thing that looks damaged on the board is the Gold battery receivers, they have bent and are a little squashed.
If i have left any information out that could help please ask
I also would like to say that i have 2 phones 1 completely dead and 1 with a cracked screen.
I transfered the completely dead phones internal board to the cracked screen phone >
That might be it...
The golden legs carries the power from battery to the board.. So if you could use some copper wire or something to make proper contact with battery,it might work,,, tell me if it does
Hit the thanks button instead of telling it....
thank you

[Q] Xperia Play not booting, new flex cable, red LED

Hello Fellow Forum Users and Gurus
I need some serious advice in regards with my Xperia Play R800i. I have had this phone for over two years now and have taken it in for servicing before (just for cracked digitizer, feel like I paid way more than I should have since digitizer costs a fraction of what I paid and is quite easy to install) and now I have an even bigger problem:
> My Xperia Play's flex cable wore out and my touchscreen was no longer responsive; in addition to this, my face buttons (home, search, menu, back).
> I purchased a new flex cable and had it installed - the face buttons work, but the screen does not display anything - my phone would flash a purple light and vibrate. Icing on the cake is that once I turn on my phone, the phone and battery start getting real hot within minutes.
Also, whenever it doesn't power on the LED flashes red (insufficient power going to phone? Hardware failure?)
> I decided to have a serviceman assess my phone, see if the cable was set in properly - he came back to me and said that there may be possible liquid damage that could have occurred before and only now presenting itself since I changed the flex cablethough this seems highly unlikely:laugh:.
> Tried to boot into fastboot and flashmode and instead of flashtool picking up my phone name, it picks the serial number and wont flash anything to it.
> I headed over to another serviceman who then mentioned that there may be some mis-communication (I think its what he said, accent threw me off) - I assumed he meant the flex cable could be defective? Or maybe my IC board has kicked the bucket?
Thinking of switching back my old flex cable but wanna hear from you guys what think it could be.
P.S. I have seen similar threads asking about flashing LEDs and flex cable issues, one thread in particular referred the poster to an application called SEtool but, for one, I cant use it since my phone (1) burns up fast and (2) wont boot up most of the time (drains/"kills" the battery whenever it heats up).

Xperia Z3 D6633 Touchscreen does not work

With less than 24 hours of use, the touchscreen on my brand new Xperia Z3 Dual (D6633) stopped working. The phone was activated on the T-mobile network (but was not bought at T-mobile because they do not sell the Dual SIM version). The phone has NOT been immersed in water or abused in any way. I was able to power down by holding the Power button and Volume Up buttons. Sony Support said to try and repair the software with PC Companion. That did not work. Sony said I could send it in "for evaluation", but that might take 14 days just to find out what is wrong.
At this point, when I power up I am in the language selection screen and can not continue because I can not select "Done" on the touch screen.
It was suggested that if I boot up holding the Power and Volume Down keys, I would enter "Recovery Mode" and the Volume control could then be used to move up and down on the screen to make selections. However, I enter "Safe Mode" and the Volume control seems to just control the volume (at least there is a volume control slide graphic that seems to indicate the level of volume).
Any thoughts as to how to fix this or is this simply a bad unit that should be replaced with a new working unit?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Better use warranty to get a new one.
What failed -- digitizer or electronics controlling digitizer?

I think I might have to go through the lengthy process of a warranty return though I was hoping there would be a quicker fix.
Does anybody know what could have caused this? How do I know if it is the digitizer or if it is the electronics that controls the digitizer?
Z3 touchscreen
i have exactly the same issue, would love to hear from you as to if you managed to resolve it?
Still waiting with bad touchscreen.

I'm still waiting for a response from the seller, an online store.
I'll post back when I get some results.
similar but not exactly the same
I have similar trouble with Xperia Z3 Dual Sim , TouchScreen frequently stop responding for about 2-3 second , after that it will be ok,it happens 4-5 times from yesterday that I bought my new Xperia Z3 Dual and it's really annoying.
It seems Sony sucks on Xperia Z3 TouchScreens.

Xperia Z3-Black backlight only,no image.

Hello. I got this Z3 with a broken screen, when I got it it had only black backlight, no image, but the LCD cable on the bottom was cut, so I thought that was why it had no image.
So I replaced the screen with a new one, but the issue remains, no image, only black backlight.
Tried restoring the software with Sony PC companion, updated to latest version, but it didn't help.
The phone boots fine, touch works, I can select options and sometimes I even get audio readouts of what is on the screen, just no image.
Is this a dead motherboard or something else? Because I went through a couple of new screens, none worked, so I'm out of the ideas.
I haven't encountered a case like this before, the screen either works or doesn't, the fact that the touch works and I have backlight puzzles me. No backlight or no touch issues are a common case to me, but this is a new one.
Can someone help here?
Thnx
Same problem....

It's a faulty LCD connector on the motherboard, in my case. Not the connector itself but the small jumper just above it, it gives power to the LCD, it was broken off.
I had it resoldered. Works fine now.
Could ju point me a bit closer whitch one it was?Did you get no image at all or something like the one on my picture?https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bym65RPW_fIpeXlkX2NTYUw5SVk This is how mine looks like around the lcd connector.https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bym65RPW_fIpTXZpWTFKby1Ua3c

No image at all, only black backlight ant the touch was responding.
The three square fuses on the bootom of the picture, it's similar in Z3, in my phone one of those was broken off.
Hi guys. I have almost the same problem but inverted. My display and touch is working but i dont have backlight. I can see the screen only if i put light on it.
Maybe u guys have a faulty digitizer responsible for image faulty(no image), better for send repair, flashing new stock firmware will not help
I tried with new digitizer, no luck. Tried jumping the fuse with no luck. Don't know what to try anymore.

Put the motherboard in the oven and bake it for a few minutes, it resold everything, if that's the problem, it will fix it.
For more infos and temperature / time, google it

z3 no display but backlight on

[Completed] Poor soldering skills lead me to burning through fuse on sony xperia z3 compact

A little while ago I broke my screen on my Sony Xperia z3 compact, so naturally I replaced the screen and the digitzer, and it worked (hurray!) for about five minutes (Boo!), after which the backlight stopped working, apparently this is a common issue and I managed to find a solution after googling "sony experia z3 compact backlight not working". Should be the first result (cant post outslde links as noobie)
So i attempted to make the jumper with a soldering Iron, but my soldering experience is clearly evidence of my ability to break phones as in the process I burned through the component (I think. though the whole mess is covered in Solder right now). And although the charging light comes on the phone it self will not turn on. It is completely dead, I have tried various resets but none work, I should mention the phone worked perfectly before hand it was just the backlight that was the problem..
Is it time to get a new phone, or is there still hope? I've already sunk over £100 into trying to repair the stubborn basterd but I've not quite given up hope
Hi,
I would say you need to buy a new phone, but I'm not good at repairing phones either, so perhaps you should register and ask your question here. Good luck!
