New kernels for mi4i - Xiaomi Mi 4i

Hey guys. I noticed that there aren't many kernels for mi4i
I think there are only 3
+sensei
+razor reborn
+Intersect kernel
Do u guys think u need more kernels for our device
If u find this post useful please press thanks

How is this helpful in anyway. Are you going to make a kernel for the phone? Or is this post to encourage developers to make a new kernel?

Leave it

First off why do you need more kernels? Just 1 kernel that is stable, tweakable and smooth should be more than good enough. Better having one kernel by a developer who knows what he's doing rather than 10 kernels which lack in quality. I've been with sensei since day 1 and I've seen phenomenal battery life and smoothness.

This is just to encourage devs to create more kernels
There no harm in asking

Well how do you guys know that all the kernels will lack in quality? There a lot of amazing devs out there! How did we know haikalizz kernel was awsome it was only after we used it! How can u judge the devs blindly and assume that their kernels will lack quality? And I also think that many devs know what they are doing too! Please don't just assume things. Please forgive me if I was rude.
I was only speaking on behalf of the Amazing Devs out there for us!!!

This thread is just to encourage Devs for making kernels for us! Making it is up to the devs
This poll is just to decide what the users want and hopefully bring new kernels for our device with new features

no one is accusing the other developers of lacking anything. All we're saying is that we should be grateful that there is even one kernel being regularly updated

you seem to be quite new to XDA forums. I've been around for a while and I can tell you that threads like these don't encourage developers. If they wanted to or they could they would have done so

to be honest, kernel for CM12.1 ++ is already modified ,more performance, more stability already included
also, SG Fame, only have 1 custom kernel and it's included into any Custom Rom build from source bro
already include tons of feature
All In One is better dude ,10 people working together

[Q] What is purpose of Showcase AOSP, Voodoo Kernel and GAPPS?

(Disclaimer: I am new to the forum so I can't post this in the below mentioned threads because I haven't posted enough.)
Hey Ya'll I'm relatively new to the Samsung Showcase and rooted the 2.1 and installed the VOODOO for the Sound improvements! and I loved it.
Today because I can't leave well enough alone I updated to Froyo with the PnP rom.
I saw the thread '[ROM] Showcase AOSP Froyo V0.9, Voodoo AOSP kernel, and GAPPS 3/15/2011' but when I saw all the things that didn't work on it (camera, video camera, Bluetooth) I thought I'd investigate more before I did anymore!
I have a problem with doing things I don't fully understand as long as I understand the instructions.
Can some one tell me what the AOSP Froyo V0.9 Rom is (and how its better, worse different from the EB11 PnP 0.3)
About the Voodoo kernal in the above thread? and how its different than the kernal in this thread, [KERNEL] voodoo for eb11 fix release
What is the GAPPS?
I would really like the Sound improvements and I saw that its not available yet...and the lagfix isn't enough of a change for me at this time to remove the function of the camera, video camera, and bluetooth headset.
So can someone clear this up for me. I've read the entire thread of each of the above mentioned threads and they are more about bugs and for people that already know about of their function?
THanks in advance!
Justin
Google AOSP roms, it's just the base android operating system, no manufacturer additions such as touchwiz, very lean rom

So AOSP stands for Android Open Source P but, any idea why some would use this instead of the Pick N Pack Rom I'm using...and if I can use the Voodoo Kernel with it or if I have to use the AOSP ROM. I guess I'm kind of looking for the features and benefits of different ROMS.
In addition I'm also using this post to get my 10 post up so I can just post this question in the Development thread.

Different ROM's have different benefits, it's all up to the user. Like I said, google it, do some research and find out for yourself what ROM's are all about. MIUI, CyanogenMod and AOSP are all different types of custom ROM's.

Thank you I will google it...more thoroughly.....I though AOSP was more of a definition than a name of the ROM.. Thanks for the input.
Anyone have any good links? (again trying to get my Post up to 10)
Why don't you just ask whatever it is you want to ask instead of wasting peoples time with posts just to up your post count? The same people that post and answer questions in the dev forum read these. No need to wait to ask until you get your posts up.

Any way I Guess I learned that the AOSP ROM is the most basic Rom. Also Found I can flash the voodoo Kernel but it only gives lag fix at this time. so I may wait to see if the sound improvement comes...thats what I enjoy the most!
So I hope others with similar questions have found this thread helpful.

Form a dev team to bring AOSP to the Galaxy R?

Hi! I noticed there are a few people working on custom stuff for the Galaxy R. I am personally very interested in getting AOSP or CM for it. I'm a former Gentoo Linux dev, so I have a bit of somewhat related experience.
I would like to propose to form a team to work together and share our findings, resources and efforts, to produce an AOSP-based ROM for our beloved Galaxy R.
Who is with me?
Some resources of interest:
ardatdat kernel
stock Samsung roms
InfectedRom - first custom rom
internal specs
I've had a PM from cocoa7 who is interested in helping. I'm hoping others will join as well.
Don't know a lot about developing but I can be a tester if need be.
Sent from my GT-I9103 using XDA App
If you want then count me in and you can see my work in theming, mods and roms and I can help you in building Rome and making themes
I'll be happy to test, I'm wanting to learn more about ROM dev as well
yo!
Hope that my kernel could be compatible with the AOSP ROM

Based on AOSP experience with my Galaxy Ace , it won't work .
The best kernel to possibly be inspired from is one from the Optimus 2x forum
It's one of the most complete and amazing features.
Check it out
[CM7/MIUI Kernel][KANG] CM7 Kang kernel included cherry picks
Which in turn is inspired from
[KERNEL][CM7][JAN19h15] ironkrnL -- vork's bastard stepson
and
[Kernel]G2x-CM7[2.6.32.51] (v0.4.8)OC~1.55GHz/UV/SLQB/BFQ/ZRAM/Voodoo
Both of which are amazing Kernels. Just visit these threads and you'll know
The Optimus 2x/G2x has similar hardware and Tegra 2 chipset as in our Galaxy R.
if anyone is interested to try my custom rom based on zskk5 then kindly send me a pm
Anyone help please , I'm getting "no rule to make libaudio.so" error

Yes...Modding with kitchen, erasing some bloatware...That's the way to get IMO "nicer" stock. I don't mean to diminish anybody's future achievements (and I'm not talking about any special rom here) but I think it's not enough to call it custom rom. Technically it is but practically It will still be stock, the same performance, just with modified appearance.

Asad! I know this is not the right thread to ask, but this is a humble request from me and i m sure from all the other fit users too...that can you please make us a nice stable overclocked Kernel!
From past couple of months, we are just porting rom from other devices, there's just few development which originally belongs to FIT.
Even the Mini has got now 1.3 GHz Kernel (i have read somewhere)....... we have now, quite a number of roms for fit, performance of the phone is best enhanced by the Kernels.
You are a Senior Dev of This forums, I am sure you and other Devs can come together to make a Good kernel as a team.
If we got a good OC kernel for our fit, then i am sure that even on cm7 our phone's performance will become equivalent to High end Android Devices !

Sorry for that.. .. I read that in some galaxy Ace forums, that mini users has got 1.3 GHz working kernel !
Just searched and found that, they have a maximum of 868 MHz processor with voltage modules !
Well, i was just taking a reference .......consider that as a a mistake....
And please, do consider that request, which was made in earlier post !
and as i said earlier .... "whatever you need we are ready to help"
you serious about 1.3GHz?
---------- Post added at 06:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:47 PM ----------
nvm i didnt read the bottom part.
you should test the rom before you post atleast tell some people to test it for you before posting here and replacing the CM9 framework in cm7 will NEVER work you need to port and resize images in cm7 framework itself
Sorry to iterpt in between but this not gone gonna work in any case if you use cm9 framework in cm7.
And guys overclocking yoir device to 1.3 Ghz would just make it a paperweight. That's too much for an ldpi device.

Hi :) T-Mobile gave me this phone for free.

Hi guys im new to XDA but not new to Android development i used to have Cricket service (which sucked) and signed with T-Mobile and got this phone for free After spending all week reading all these threads i can say im one of the lucky ones since i got the good chip and good screen and rooted my phone and im running Sysnthetic_Aospx great rom btw. Any other good roms that i should try? Anywho im rooted and this isnt another "which rom is better" im actually a developer and i want to get my hands dirty and try and compile kernels any guides out there for me to start compiling and building my kernel environment?
I know my way around developing roms and wanted to know what developers develop for this device im willing to give you guys a hand if u need it or just be a tester.
Btw my name is Mr. Iffy ill try to help when i can hopefully one of the devs can help me with an Ice cream kernel to develop for this device. If someone can also tell me what devs are here i only see like 4 of them Synthetic and elginsk8r and awesome and cnote. Thanks guys hopefully i can be more of help around here.
Welcome! It's great to have another dev among us. Unfortunately, we have lost many of our devs to other devices, but a few talented ones remain. Hopefully you and the remaining devs will be able to bring a fully functional ICS Sense ROM to our little community.
Again, welcome!

I think you need to check XDA rules before uploading kernels. I think XDA require that kernel sources must be available.
Anyway I'm sure you can check out the forum guidelines for submitting kernels.
Happy compiling.

That’s why I asked, but no one seems interested in responding or helping in any way.. I know people have uploaded guides, but they aren’t easy to follow or even close to how to do it.. I asked how to do it - 600 people read it and not one person responded ?*

Well you can't expect all 600 people to be devs ?
Read the xda forum rules and you will find that you need to have some number of posts (10 I think??) before you can make a rom/kernel/development thread (afaik, might be wrong). For uploading, afh is prefered, and uploading source code is probably a must.
Thanks for your effort never the less!
Edit: typo
Nah, I didn’t expect 600 devs, but someone to point me in the right direction maybe.. for being self taught and copying/modifying bits of wolfies code into bitobs codes - how can I point them to the source? would I need to upload my modified source to github?
Also as for making 10 posts - do I just post random junk to get my count up? ?* It just seems a bit crap to me, I should just make a post explaining how to do it..
I don't know honestly, I would guess you need to upload the modified code (so probably the thing you compile into the flashable image) to github yes, with all the polite thanks and props to bitO and werewolf.
As for the post count, again, I told you I'm not sure about it (or anything I said really, because I myself am not a dev), so spend an hour or two reading xda rules, there has to be something that answers your problems or we would have steel01 and every other dev asking the same things...

It’s for stock nougat
Could you cook something for lineage 15.1?
it’s should be easy enough to do, just I’d have nothing to test it on, as I’m not swapping to lineage
