OnePlus One better than the OnePlus 2? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there. I'm choosing between the OnePlus One and the OnePlus 2 as my next phone due to their OS being better than vanilla Android. But what is this i'm hearing that the older model is better then the current flagship? Hence i would like to ask:
1. Does the OnePlus One have a BSI-enabled camera sensor?
2. Will the One be updated to the latest Oxygen OS the same time as the OP2? Or will the older device have it later?
3. Which one has a better camera than the other?
4. Which one has a slightly louder speakers?
5. True the OP One has better battery life/more optimised software than the OP2 despite having a smaller battery capacity?
Please help. Many thanks.

Go with op2 coz it will get continius software update and support

I have the Oneplus One and have Marshmallow on it. I still love the phone. I skipped the OPO2. Not because I would not prefer it but this is my upgrade year. If you could afford it and want one the opo2 but the op1 is still excellent and it does have NFC but no fingerprint scanner.

Oneplus One
1. Yes BSI enabled camera
2. Way louder than OnePlus 2
3. Updates/Support .. You can think of it as OnePlus One has more than 50+ Custom ROM.
4.Camera is something which is subjective. Some shots is better in OnePlus One .. Some in OnePlus 2
5. Battery is better in OnePlus One.

1. Dunno what bsi is
2. I've checked both speakers and they seem kinda same(but if you install viper4android it seems like a whole new device.)
3. If your into flashing roms etc kinda thing then i suggest you get ono otherwise on2
4. Camera is better on On2
5. Battery is better on onO

BSI stands for Back Side-Illuminated. It's a type of image sensor.

[Q] Should I buy Nexus 5?

Hello,
Currently I have HTC One X 32GB which I like but had it for almost two years now.
I am thinking of buying a new phone and my first choice would be Nexus 5.
However I am concerned about the Nexus 5 camera as the Nexus 4 didn't have
an outstanding one. How would the camera compare to One X
camera and generally to the whole phone?
Would you suggest me to buy Nexus 5?
Regards,
tomic888

Like Jime1 said, If you want to buy a phone that has a good camera go for the Sony Xperia series ~21 MP (Z1).
The nexus 5 is more like a standard all-days phone, has everything average.

Potential new purchase

So is the one plus one still a good phone? Im on the edge of picking up one for a spare. I know it's an older device but I love to root/rom and the note 5 is terrible in that department.

Provided the developer base Oneplus one has it is still the best phone. I suppose it will last upto atleast Android O, specs wise Oneplus one is now older and can't compete with some of the phones.
However same goes for those other phones they can't compete Oneplus one with the developer base.

Upgrade options in 2016

What device is next for you and why?
I want quick software updates, fingerprint sensor and good camera. 5X seems to be right choice, but it's not impressive. New HTC is another option.
I also consider buying one of chinese devices (Oneplus, xioami) if they get stable aosp roms. So far HTC seems to be best device around

I am waiting on the rumored 2016 Nexus devices. I am looking for a great camera and wireless charging.
I live in Brazil, theres no upgrade options for my needs here. Just overpriced flagships of the past. If something happens with my n5 will search for a moto just because of aosp support from xda. But probably an old moto x2
I'm a Brazilian without English Course, sorry and be comprehensive

Will Mi5 get full aosp support? Complete camera capabilities and fingerprint reader support?
Im considering device with good camera, fingerprint sensor, with good battery life and also with great community support..
these are my choices:
Redmi Note 3 Pro
ZUK Z2 Pro
ZUK Z1
Honor 5x/GR5
I am waiting for new nexus.
The n5 was the last nexus sold here in brazil, and for a brief time. For some reason nexus 6 wasnt sold here, even with the big success moto have with brazilians. I would consider a Nexus 6 now that google keyboard have the awesome one handed mode

@prog19 Same here, Turkey. Nexus 5 is the last Nexus that sold in Turkey. :/
The One Plus 3 certainly ticks all my boxes. Though very curious if there is going to be a good Nexus 2016.

This year I will change phone as well but for now there is nothing interesting...
waiting for:
1) motorola x 2016
2) one plus 3
3) nexus 2016 <-- probably that will be my phone, so I hope will be nice
New Nexus 6, new Nexus 6 and... new Nexus 6 !!!
Still with my N5, hanging with it...screen already replaced a couple of months ago but few days ago the screen start literally to vanish... turn of the device all night long and it was gone... uff I was already thinking what was the cheaper phone with M that I could buy!! My back cover is getting very loose cause when I open my phone to replace the screen I broke some of the internal holders of the back plate. Also no matter what rom I install, no matter what I do with what apps I install, after a few days I only get 1 to 2 hours of SOT... despite these problems, going to hang till the new nexus is going to be announced !!!
Just hope that they don't screw this time with certain aspects. That they release a even better cam like they did with the current nexus line. Also, hope that SD820 (or other) will do a better, but a better job at battery saving!!!
My N5 power button broke and the G2 was cheap at the time so I went for it. I'm in the same boat for an upgrade. All I want is the following:-
-1080p 5.1" screen
-Tiny bezels (Like the G2)
-SD820
-3GB Ram (Minimum)
-Fingerprint reader on back
-3000 Mha battery
-Stock android
-Plastic construction
-$300 to $400 price tag
I cant believe this phone doesn't already exist. Google really messed up with the 5X. :crying:
For me, it'd be either Moto or the new Nexus(es) coming out in fall.

honor 8 camera

I think it one of the best camera phone of 2016 and may be 2017.

Really? Compared to what other cameras? You must have not used any other phone if you're going to make that statement. It's definitely a mid tier camera compared to the flagship cameras that are currently out.

I dont see the point of this tread... And let's be serious, isn't the best one. I think you didnt tried to make video recordings using zoom. It's decent,it's good, but not the best ?
iphone and the pixel cameras are the best huawei are still catching up

New phone opinions

I currently have a Nexus 6P. I dropped it a week ago shattering the phone, but I'm looking to get something better. I'm looking for something that has a good processor, adequate storage, good dev support, great camera quality, dual flash F/R cameras, quick updates. I have had a HTC M8 before, so I'm not really interested in the HTC10 nor do I want any Samsung product. What are your ideas on the OnePlus 3T? What's the community like? What's the future of OnePlus devices looking like? I'm not really sure if I want to get a Pixel device either. I'm not really that impressed with Pixel features or the Pixel for that matter. Let's hear some ideas...
