Hi,
my phone accidentaly fell down and the touchscreen is broken...Display is still working...
Do i have a chance to recover my data?
I did try OTG cable, but as I learned, OTG function is not supported on this little piece of s***. Should i try OTG cable with external power? Does it mean any difference?
Of course, I can try change the touchscreen, but its kinda hard to find and delivery from China takes around 40 days...(Not to mention it might not work)
Please help, I m kinda desperate :/
Thanks in advance,
Martin

Hello, I recently tried to put a custom ROM on my tablet and managed to brick it so it does not turn on, doesn't get recognized by my computer - so basically a brick.
I am now looking for a way out of this mess and would be very happy if someone could help me.
Thanks in advance.

The device will not turn on, will not indicate charging and will not even activate the screen.
holding down the power+vol up/down also does nothing..
Yes, Win 8.1 x64
for my computer, yes (and i would like to keep it that way). i also have a win 8 comp that i dont really care about
for my tablet, no i don't.
It might be effective but it will also be expensive i think, thankyou for your help and i wish you all the best.
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. Unfortunately it sounds to me like you've properly hard bricked the tablet, there's really no way out of this other than replacing the motherboard usually. I'd suggest you contact your local repair centre and organise to have it inspected.
Good luck!

So, hello everyone. Long time lurker here, only signed up today. Shame on me.
Anyway... my good friend tried flashing a ROM on his device ( HTC one V) and everything went terribly wrong. I do not know what he did or what the name of the ROM is, and I have no way to find out.
If I try to turn it on it does absolutely nothing but the battery's fully charged (Battery led works). Even though it doesn't do anything, it is recognized as an external hard drive (two, actually) on my pc and the device manager actually sees the device as " HTC phone". Other than that, I couldn't do anything else.
I'm very new to this, so if anybody could lend me a hand I'd be happy. Thank you in advance.
If I forgot vital details ask away, i'm here.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. It sounds like your friend had hard bricked his device. I'd see if it can be JTAG'd. You could also try asking your question here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-v/help
Good luck and welcome to XDA. And don't forget to register on XDA

Hi, I bought an old Vodaphone 845 for R350 and it was working fine untill now the touchscreen seems to have stopped being touchy. In otherwords, i cant use it. Its running Android 2.2 and i tried with an otg cable and mouse but it didnt seem to work. Is OTG supported in this phone. Anywho a touchscreen repair guide would be nice, but assistance in getting otg to work or somethig like that would be nice.

Dear community! I would be very glad if you could give me any assistance at reviving my Elephone Trunk(Snapdragon 410).
Today, suddenly, as I was using it, it just blanked out. I was using CM12 with xposed, worked perfectly untill now. No way to turn it on, tried this tutorial(unfortunately just for MTK devices):
youtube. com/watch?v=A3TmXtOA0IA
Windows does`t find the phone, no matter what(tried pressing volume buttons and plugging in the usb cable...). I am stuck at the point, where I wanted to do the "wire trick", but I can`t find the GND(ground) contact point to try to bridge it with the right contact on the motherboard, which would then supposedly trigger the phone recognition in Windows.
Here is the photo of the motherboard:
tinypic.com /r/ou4ljb/9
Any ideas which two contact points I should try to bridge?
Any help greatly appreciated!
P.S. since I just registered, I am unfortunately not allowed to post the links properly...
