1.8 is an alpha build you have to sign up to the test program and use that for issues, look at the mxplayer thread for more info

I have a SE x10 mini wich has a MSM7227 processor, wich is ARMv6 VFP CPU with Adreno 200 GPU. Like HTC Legend, and some other phones.
I've tried rockplayer, vplayer and moboplayer (in all versions when other build than arm6 vfp was aviable) and I have this problem:
1. If I use normal hardware decoding, the video does not play (blank screen) and the audio sounds bad and plays like 3 times faster.
2. If I use software decoding, the video and sound plays, but synchronization is lost and the framerate is not smooth.
Tested with several normal avi (xvid mp3) files.

All the players are more or less good..
What u need to do is re-code the video clip with following settings
Resolutions as pre your phone screen
video codec xvid or divx bitrate at 256
audio mp3 at 128
frame rate as per the original video
Think these settings should solve ur sync problems
cheer!!!!
problem is i dont have videos on my sd card,i stream them and when i do sound and picture dose not match,it is not sync.
i tried bsplayer, mxplayer, and manny more but only rock player did the job, unfortunaly he also is failing most of the time
i am trying to watch avi format videos.
i tought what if there was a plugn for chainfire 3d to help us with playing such videos ?

after install and market install of codec arm 7 , when i try to open mx video player i get error, codec is out of date please reinstall latest version
I'm getting the same error.
You need latest V7 beta player and the latest V7 codec (ffmpeg library) from here:
http://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/library
It doesn't do 720 H/W. But even in S/W mode, quick rendering and with tablet at 1.4GHz it works ok.

So it's the same as just about all video players?
Bottom line for everyone trying to find that magical video player is that without drivers, hardware acceleration will not work. It's already been proven that software rendering will pretty much handle all video needs

I am downloading mx player custom codec for my device htc desire c.. But on downloading arm v7 neon the download keeps cutting at 3.22 mb... what to do??/ plz tell me...
First codec is needed only if the device doesn't support mostly default codec in mx player itself supports and plays videos in most devices
Try enabling s/w instead if h/w and play video
Download codec only If mx player recommends codec

I try to view some movies with AC3 sound on my Wiko Stairway (Cortex-A7 processor).
I have installed the different Arm v7 Codecs using Google Play but MX Player keeps telling me that AC3 is not supported
Can anyone help me?
AC3 support was dropped due to licensing issues.
Install the custom codec, as it supports AC3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/mx-player/mx-player-custom-codec-dts-support-t2156254

Thanks. I looked at the thread.
Like I said, I downloaded the MX Player Codecs offered on Google Play (by J2 Interactive).
The codecs proposed on the thread seem to be the same.
Arm v7-Neon
Arm v7-Tegra3
Arm v7-Tegra2
I tried the codecs for Arm v7-Neon and Tegra 2 available on Google Play and they did not work.
Aren't/shouldn't the codecs available on Google Play be the same as those available on this forum?
Not sure which should work for my phone.

No, Google Play means no AC-3.
"Arm v7-Neon" and others are names of cpu architecture. You should use one that matches yours. See thread that was linked for instructions on how to check this...
As vivan000 has said, the Google Play codecs are not the same thing; they are for video decoding. The linked thread is specifically an external audio codec, that will give you support for AC-3 and other audio formats. You must follow that thread's instructions to install it.
I want to play 720p HEVC H.265 in MX Player. Does it depends on mobile? Do I need to download any codecs? What are the minimum requirements to play HEVC in MX Player smoothly? Pleasy do reply.

Yes, it's completely depends on device.
If the device natively supports HEVC, you can play HEVC in HW decoder. Else, SW decoder is the only option. But, it needs very powerful processor.

Hevc
If I want to play it in SW, then how much powerful processor is needed?
It will be a great help if you mention minimum requirements for PC too.
Thanks

It depends upon the quality of the video.
Just try yourself. If SW is laggy, your processor is not powerful enough to play that video.

Any Device, with CyanogenOS 12.1 / CyanogenMod 12.1 Can play smoothly in HW for 720p hevc/x265 8bit (10bit, not sure) @ 25fps.
With the same codec & resolution above 25fps, You need a device Display of 720p Resolution (Must).
For PC (Windows Platform Only), The Best of The Best - K-Lite Mega Codec Pack ( Much better than VLC ) URL :-
http://codecguide.com
Deblocking feature would be great for that. We can disable deblocking for highly compressed videos to achieve a better decoding.

You are completely wrong...!
Eventhough rom configuration also plays a vital role in multimedia performance, it's mainly depends on the processor. If I am not wrong to implement HW acceleration for HEVC the chipset must support HEVC.
In device with unsupported chipset can't be HW accelerated even when you use Cyanogen(Mod/OS) 12.1.

Hi i have wonderings, concerning HEVC on phones.
I can play my H265 videos on my phones enough smoothly (i used to have a Honor 6, and now it's a Oneplus X) - tryed VLC or MX Player Pro (+AC3&DTS Codec).
Yet i can't move inside any video. if i try to, the video always restart from the beginning. It's really annoying to me.
Concerning the HiSilicon processor, i thought there was some incompatibility, but with the OPX's SD801, everything should be fine, shouldn't it ?
Thanks in advance for your help

SW or HW decoder? Also, sounds like your video may have container wrapping issues, if you cannot seek.
OnePlus One should have more than enough power.
I've tried sw,hw, and hw+.
The behavior keeps the same.
As i mostly watch downloaded mangas, i've tried different ones, from different groups, but always impossible to seek inside a video...
What i understand from you is that it is not normal, and not a known issue... Crap!

@ktsamy, I Just Forgot That.
Thanks Mate.
@CDB-Man do you think it is something you can reproduce/investigate? (in OPX we have SD801 version aa i think...)
i truly believe that very few people use H265 for now, so such problem may keep marginal.
i haven't mentioned that i have tried every video reader i found on google play, all behave the same.
Or maybe does it come from the manufacturer's implementation/drivers in its rom ? (what about SD801 with samsung's S5 phone?)
I haven't encountered any seek issues specific to HEVC; what I have seen before are videos not in a proper MKV or other container, and therefore you cannot seek it.
A raw .hevc video stream file, you may not be able to seek.
