I had a g flex 2 when it first came out and it was so slow due to thermal throttling. I want to get another one but I'm worried it lags. Could anyone shed any light on whether they are worth getting again now they have been out almost a year.
I'm on the ZV6 version and it has lags and gets hot. I don't know how it is on ZV9.
Root debloat and tweak thermal settings .
My H955 on V15c is smooth as butter, no heating problems. I'm not rooted.
Bought the Mrs a H950 and it was full of bugs on 5.0.2. Now updated to 5.1.1 and performance is great and doesn't get too hot. Just bear in mind the H950 has 3GB Ram.

H950 is buttery smooth once flashed with 5.1.1 PR kdz. Massive difference compared to 5.0.1 AT&T.
Going faster

Yes I to noted that the AT&T Rom @ 5.0.1 was laggy as but it may have been the fact that it was unlocked and using a different service provider.
But flashing the 5.1.1pr has made it a 100 time better and faster.

he's talking of 5.1.1 since for most 5.0.2 was lag fest
hey guys, last week i flashed XEF 6.0.1 on my S6, everything seems fluid and fast, except when you press and hold the home screen to see the options there like : themes, grid..... there is frame drops, it's not always there, but sometimes it's annoying, has anyone encountered that?
I'm getting frame drops/general lag in games like Vainglory.
Have it on both XtreStoLite 3.0 BETA3, aswell as XEF official firmware..

Definatly not.
This game is made to run at 60 FPS, -all the time-.
And it used to do that, on Lollipop.
But not anymore on Marshmallow, its way way worse.

but it maybe related to the game optimization, maybe it's still not optimized for MM....
Like most, I like my phone rooted, with xposed and all the nice stuff roots comes with. Also it seems to make the Flex2 much more usable in regard of battery, adblock, runtime etc... BUT the MM update seems to be really good, too.
So, my question the people who have used both is:
What has the better overall experience ( battery runtime, performance, features, overall feeling ):
- 5.1.1 root with amplify / greenify / smart network / adblock
- 6.0.1 stock
Also, what are the alternatives for non-root regarding adblock in chrome?
Thanks & Greetz
6.0.1 here hands down. For Adblock use ABP

Adguard works perfect. None of the issues you get with ABP without root.
I also prefer Marshmallow to rooted 5.1

MM has a realy good battery life and it's very smooth
But what about thermal throttling??
I love 6.0.1 interface,it is so smooth that all the apps seem like they're almost always running in the background.
On the other hand, because of the throttling it lags very bad even in Angry Birds 2.FREAKING ANGRY BIRDS 2!!!
Is there any fix to this? On Marshmallow?? I just wanna change the thermal config file.
And btw I'd like to know how the camera on 5.1.1 with root modded with jpeg quality set to 100 compares with the marshmallow one.Furthermore,on 6.0.1 I can't see 1080p60fps option.
I like to have a permanent full screen without on screen buttons wasting space or being accidentally touched. Root and lmt pie controls is a must for me.
Since root doesnt solve all overheat problems and from Time to Time still changes in Core Settings appear i can live with lagfree 6.0 .. Battery life is okay but the kernel still ramps cpu up too agressive and throttles too agressive too so... Actually android 6 with managable kernel would be nice.
Can't live without Root because of poor internal memory...
hi, can F501L 5.1.1 be rooted?
I dont know if I return to 5.1.1 rooted for thermal because I'm on 6.0 and with Pokemon Go the temperature is horrible and my game very laggy when I play more 10mn, normal ?
Edit : after 10mn the proco was at 50C and i feel the hard throttling at 50C too (balance both 49/50C). Horrible lag
Conclusion, LG G Flex 2 with MM is a wonderful phone for ONLY using social media apps, browsing, facebook-ing, calling, SMS-ing or watching video WITHOUT GAMES. Basically I do not play GAMES at all...so totally no problem for me. It is QUICK and SMOOTH.
Little feedback, Pokemon Go with thermal engine change, no lag but more temperature. I up until 57C and have warning message but no lag when i was at 50C

limit the max gpu speed, it will help keep the temp down
Yes but like CPU clock, the gpu always reboot and back to max.... It's impossible to play with frequency with this kernel....
Are There any Not Pokemon Related News?
Shouldnt it be possible to Change Files in /sys Folder with adb and Pull and push Files? Or is This Impossible on This Device? Or will it even Brick this the Device?
This folders contain a lot of Information about cpu and kernel Related Stuff or am I wrong?
Is There a usable and stable Way to Control our devices cpu/GPU yet?

Not without unlocked bootloader. (custom kernel)
*Rage against LG increases
Who knows, flex2 with android 7 maybe will fix a lot of Things for us - when it arrives for us before Smartphones became obsolete..
If you guys can dd partitions with MM then you could always modify the system image to what you want then put back on phone like I did for Sprint G4, see my Sig. I even managed to offer more CPU/GPU choices during boot without root and without bl unlock.
How?

Do you really think LG will bring us android 7 nougat for flex 2? It wont happen. Support is nearly gone at the moment and this is problematic phone(overheating etc) what they obviously try to forget.
Hi guys. First sorry for my bad english i learned from video games im greek. I have lg g flex 2 today i upgrade to mm 6.0.1 i install antutu to check score but it was so bad on lolipop i had 64k bad too. Now i saw so much overheating and a little laggy. Hey i did factory reset but the same and more overheatings lag and etc. Any solution to cool down my cpus temp and less lag . i feel bad about this phone its really beautiful it deserves more
As for me. My phone is much smoother on mm then lollipop rooted and governors. Maybe couple h less battery, but games run much better. Nfs no limits was lagging as hell before. After upgrade it runs decent. Not perfect, but at least twice better than before.
Im not experiencing any overheating problems nor lags, everything is fast, especially compared to 5.1.1. Antutu is however the same as before, nothing really impressive, but i dont care that much. However, what others say that they got SOT about 4 hours,in experiencing SOT 2hrs at max, really often about +/-1h 30min which is really strange and together with small storage only downside of this phone.
To your problem, maybe the OS wasnt installed well or there might be an app that causes this slow down, check it in settings which app takes so much RAM and try to shut it down/uninstall when isnt needed. If that wont help, then all you can do is download KDZ with 5.1.1,load it and then maybe try to reload the 6.0.1. But dont be surprised if you jump from the one app to another that your system slows down, especially with just 2GB RAM it takes when its fully loaded. And heating while gaming is quite normal, every phone does that sooner or later,we are unlucky because of SD 810 it happens sooner.
I'm new to the s7,but already don't like nougat performance ...My question is did mm run better on this device battery wise and fluidity
Or is it even possible to downgrade I'm currently using a T-Mobile s7 on metro rooted and debloated running skynet prime to tame CPUs and frequencies but still seeing battery depleating while screen on just expected more ...should have went with the axon 7?
Whats the compatible mm room my phone can run
Decided to go another route gonna try U firmware just a little worried about loosing functionality since I'm using it on a T-Mobile device that is carrier locked to T-Mobile any one else done this before .
You should be able to flash down to MM. Just look for the number 4 towards the end of the firmware name on the last MM's released. You can not downgrade further than the 4th bootloader since you are already on nougat.
What r you running and what do you suggest I'm looking for better battery and fluidity
So I ended up going on and flashing the 930u firmware directly from sammobile and things are looking better fluidity has 3x in my opinion and battery I'm going to give a couple cycles to settle in before making my observation lag is almost not present . The heat has dropped too
