Are there any limitations with systemless root? My main objectives with root would be installing Titanium Back Up and Adfree. How do you handle OTA updates?

Titanium is what I used it for and it works fine. Since I don't plan on taking the OTA, I haven't really worried about that. I'm running the last 6.0 soak test and when a final becomes available, I'll just flash that. IMHO, it's much safer that way anyway. ES Explorer is the only app I can't get root access for, Root Explorer works fine though but ES never even asks for root.

After the zip installation the first and second boot can't past the boot logo, while at the third attempt has been a success, maybe it's because you doesn't use twrp in temporary mode or because you have do a backup in the internal storage, in my moto g 2013 twrp backups in internal storage cause the brick of the phone.

I've read posts of people who have been able to do so by removing all their "su" apps (including Xposed and all its modules) --> performing an unroot & uninstall using SuperSU --> unblocking/enabling all the blocked/disabled apps using Debloater --> flashing the stock unrooted image for your version (10g in my case) using the LER method and then as a last step hopefully taking + installing the FOTA update.

Read through this and many more posts. still cant update. there has to be a reason. Maybe build.prop? I tried rerooting, reinstalling xposed, i had no apps frozen(checked with debloater), uninstalled xposed, full unroot with super su. Then tried to take ota no dice. Tried factory reset still nothing. I dont know what i could be missing.

Will the systemsless root still work if I update to the new version?

I'm currently running FRD-L09C432B101 with a systemless root and systemless xposed, will these still work if I update to FRD-L09C432B120 ??
Still don't fully understand the systemless process since it seems you don't have to have an as specific root for each phone version as you do with a regular root, but that could also be me just not getting how it works when I rooted my phone the last time.
Thnx
//Jim
Normally, you can't update by OTA if you have root, and if you want to install a firmware the root will go
I have the same question as OP. I know root usually disappears when updating OTA but not sure how it works with this systemless technique.

Sure but I thought that the point with systemless root is that you are supposed to download and install OTA updates? And updates usually doesn't erase anything in my experience.

If you flash a fw the root will go, but for an OTA the phone will re-root itself because of the systemless root

Thanks good man, know of some notorious change how to really improve the battery or overheating there was in the 93-14?
Were you guys rooted before? If so, what exactly did you do so you could update?
I'm rooted with SuperSu and ElementalX Kernel right now. What would I need to do so I can install the OTA update, when it hits my phone?
I like too fresh install Android via abd then update and root, but you can always unroot you you are lazy to fresh install
