Hey, I'd like a copy of unrooted, clean stock 10g IMG as well, please. I'm planning to finally unroot, take the updates up to 10o and then root again. Much appreciated!

once you are rooted you will no longer be able to update even after flashing stock

I've read posts of people who have been able to do so by removing all their "su" apps (including Xposed and all its modules) --> performing an unroot & uninstall using SuperSU --> unblocking/enabling all the blocked/disabled apps using Debloater --> flashing the stock unrooted image for your version (10g in my case) using the LER method and then as a last step hopefully taking + installing the FOTA update.

Read through this and many more posts. still cant update. there has to be a reason. Maybe build.prop? I tried rerooting, reinstalling xposed, i had no apps frozen(checked with debloater), uninstalled xposed, full unroot with super su. Then tried to take ota no dice. Tried factory reset still nothing. I dont know what i could be missing.

The problem happens when you don't do the OTA updates first. You can fix it by installing the OTA updates, not sure if you have to go back version 1.9.12 or if you can just install the updates at the bottom of the following post.

Nexus 5 LTE

Hey! how can i see if my nexus 5 supports LTE?
my build number is:
KOT49H
Edit:
another Q:
if i rooted my nexus 5 but not changed rom or kernel will i get air updates no problem? smovly?
thanks!
Of course it supports lte. And if you're just rooted you'll get ota's. You'll lose root when you install it though

Cool, and if il lose my root after the update and befor the update i used some twikes, will it disable them?
and i will be able to root without wiping? and my bootloader will stay unlocked?

jd is just trying to point you in the right direction: knowledge by intentional research.
as he said, you will lose root. after the ota you can simply reflash the latest superSU in recovery to gain root again. no wiping. bootloader will remain unlocked.

Assuming you meant "tweaks": If you modified any system files (or installed/modified a framework etc), you cannot take OTA update. It will likely fail. You will need to be completely stock (being rooted and/or custom recovery doesn't matter) - stock ROM, stock kernel

jd1639 gave you links to useful threads that you REALLY should read. Those threads cover a LOT of scenarios, and duplicating that information here in another thread is really not beneficial to the community. If you want to know how to do things right, read those threads - at least the first 2 posts in the two threads jd1639 linked to. Else, if things go wrong (because you didn't provide sufficient information in your thread), you are going to be creating a new thread "Help - my phone is stuck in bootloop"

[Q] [XT1033]System update failed

Dear all,
Got notice of system update just now, and finished downloading, but when I pressed update, and Moto G rebooted, showed "system updating" for a while, and then, tell me system update failed. I have not idea what is going on?
I unlocked and rooted it, is that the reason?
How to fix that?
Please help.
Thank you
PS: XT1033, Singapore Dual Sim

Same for me, unlocked and rooted, update failed. Restore original factory image, let it set up and update, then root once on 4.4.
Thank you, pal, but , It seems no original image for Singapore version..

You need to be completely Stock for the OTA Update to work!
Thank you very much, buddy.
Is it the original factory image of Singapore version, for LCG-4? I hate to admit, but I am really a newbie, could you please kindly advise how to flash it into my phone?

The Bootloader status is not important! You only need to flash you original 4.3 firmware and not modify it at all (Root and so on) in order for the OTA to be successful.
Already update to 4.4.2, not very difficult!
Thanks all who help!
