Playstore Apps, APKs and Link2SD with Cyanogenmod - Android General

I can't seem to find information about this. If I install Cyanogenmod in my phone, how will the app situation work? Does Cyanogenmod come with Play Store? Will I be able to use Google Play Services and Google Play Games?
Also since my phone is 4 years old, the Twitch android app doesn't work anymore with my version of android. I don't know if this situation will remain if I move to Cyanogenmod but right now I'm using an older version of twitch from an APK I found on the internet. Will I be able to install apks like that in Cyanogenmod?
Finally, right now I have my SD card partitioned so that I can use Link2SD to link applications to the first partition which is mounted at boot. My phone only has a 420MB internal memory so I can't go without this functionality. Right now I have a total of 1.7GBs of apps. Will I be able to continue as is in Cyanogenmod?

You need flash Gapps to have Google apps into CyanogenMod, and you'll have to configure Link2sd again (without any problem) and install all apps again, and yes, you can install apks normally.

Cannot install GAPPS on B&N Nook HD+? Please help?

Hello,
So I was successful in installing CM 10.2 onto my Nook HD plus (put it on sd card, installed it onto internal storage).
So obviously I was able to flash CM 10.2 fine, but for some strange reason, GAPPS 4.3 will not install (CWM says it was successful, but booting it back up, don't see any Google Apps )
The Nook itself does not have a custom recovery installed. The SD card I used to install CM 10.2 I guess is considered recovery (both the sd card and internal storage had GAPPS, neither worked).
PLEASE HELP! I'm really panicking right now, PLEASE HELP ME ASAP! Without GAPPS, this whole procedure was a waste of my time, so if someone can please help me figure this out, it would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.
can someone please help me! I am really worried about my device right now!
Some time back the same happened ob my phone google apps in recovery says installed but when i boot the mobile I was unable to fing any apps then what i did was copy the gapps zip file on to your computer extract the zip file and extract all the apk files with google written in thenlm and gmail and google play dont install maps or other apk which are avaliable on market gmail apk is required to login into the market then put all thoses apk files in one folder and copy it to your sd card . If you do not have any explorer in your phone search browser apk on google from tablet browser and download it and then install it open it find the folder in sd card and install all the apk from it then open google play login gmail and start downloading apps . It worked for me hope it works for you to .

pls help.. link2sd not installing pls read on and help

hi everyone. i was using link2sd ver.3.7 free on my phone to link apps to sd card but i had installed it from apk file and not google play so i thought to uninstall link2sd and do a fresh install from google play. i read at link2sd faq that if i uninstall and reinstall link2sd my linked apps wont be effected. so i uninstalled link2sd but after uninstalling i was not able to install it back from play store. i get a error of insufficient space. i checked apps tab and i had a lot of free space and i was also able to install other apps the error was just with link2sd. i tried uninstalling few apps but it didnt helped and i still got that error. then i booted in cwm and wiped dalvik cache and system cache partition and now i am not able to see any of my linked apps in app drawer and i am still not able to install link2sd. the same error comes. i tried downloading apk from apk mirror but that dosent work too. pls help me all my apps are gone even google play store as i have linked it too. pls help really want my apps back

[Q] Can I use FolderMount to move large APKs from /data/app/ ?

Sorry if this has been asked before (I couldn't find it). Is it possible to use FolderMount (or another app, if so please direct me to it) to move large APKs from /data/app to the SD card? Some apps (I'm looking at you, many things I got from Humble Bundles) store all their data in the apk so I can't use FolderMount's easy ability to move the data and obb folders to move them. (And obviously I tried using the built in a2sd, but that doesn't work for everything.)
I tried it myself, but after I'd tried moving it (and mounting it in FM) either the app would crash or it wouldn't show up in the app list.

I tried it myself on my older phone, but it didn't work. It broke the game, so my guess is that it isn't possible.
Work very well for me. I've downgraded my shield to Kitkat version. You must be root

Works on CM12.1 also with an NTFS formated 64GB MicroSDHC .
I'm running stock Lollipop, with root. So maybe I'm just doing it wrong? Or doesn't work in Lollipop? How are you guys doing it, so I can see if that works for me?
I'm also in NTFS and I have a 64GB Samsung card

[Solution] [Marshmallow] App disappears after reboot

I am using Android one device running stock marshmallow, which brings in new feature to use ur external storage as phone storage.
After installing mxplayer, it gets installed directly on sdcard but when i reboot my device, the app disappears as if it was never installed.
NOTE : This is happening on apps that get directly installed on sdcard. Suppose an app gets installed on internal storage first and then i move it to sdcard, it will remain in sdcard forever (unless i manually uninstall it).

It's not MX Player's fault.
If you install anything on external memory it's getting removed on reboot. So, Kindly install MXPlayer to Internal Memory.
Looks like there is a bug in Marshmallow update of android one devices. There is no issue in nexus devices since it doesn't come up with sdcard slot.

The issue is not there in all devices.
The issue is a bug from your rom. Not from the apps.
Only way is to force the app to install only in internal storage. But, it will affect the all users who has limted space & wants to move the app to sd.
So, it's better to move the apps yourself.

Hi, I am having the same issues with apps intalled on my Internal Memory.
I have just upgraded my LG G3 D855 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Some apps (like Outlook, Google Maps, Google Translate) disappear when I reboot the phone.

It's better to ask on device specific forums rather than here since it's not a MX Ppayer Bug. Chances of getting a solution here is very less for a device issue.
curiously only mx player disappear but I see that someone said this is not a mx player fault... yoooohooooooo
