I am using Android one device running stock marshmallow, which brings in new feature to use ur external storage as phone storage.
After installing mxplayer, it gets installed directly on sdcard but when i reboot my device, the app disappears as if it was never installed.
NOTE : This is happening on apps that get directly installed on sdcard. Suppose an app gets installed on internal storage first and then i move it to sdcard, it will remain in sdcard forever (unless i manually uninstall it).

It's not MX Player's fault.
If you install anything on external memory it's getting removed on reboot. So, Kindly install MXPlayer to Internal Memory.
Looks like there is a bug in Marshmallow update of android one devices. There is no issue in nexus devices since it doesn't come up with sdcard slot.

The issue is not there in all devices.
The issue is a bug from your rom. Not from the apps.
Only way is to force the app to install only in internal storage. But, it will affect the all users who has limted space & wants to move the app to sd.
So, it's better to move the apps yourself.

Hi, I am having the same issues with apps intalled on my Internal Memory.
I have just upgraded my LG G3 D855 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Some apps (like Outlook, Google Maps, Google Translate) disappear when I reboot the phone.

It's better to ask on device specific forums rather than here since it's not a MX Ppayer Bug. Chances of getting a solution here is very less for a device issue.
curiously only mx player disappear but I see that someone said this is not a mx player fault... yoooohooooooo

Hello!
I have a memory problem with my Android device:
- Samsung Galaxy Tab, GT-P1000 (Europe)
- Firmware 2.2
- Kernel 2.6.32.9
- Build: Froyo
- Not rooted, no custom ROM
The device worked fine for a very long time. However, recently I got a warning that my internal device memory is low. Even though I did not install any new apps and the setup worked fine before.
I checked Android's storage menu and it stated:
- External SD card: 15/15 GB free
- Internal memory: 9/13 GB free
- Internal device memory: 0,00 B available
Afterwards, I uninstalled a couple of apps to free up the internal device memory. Now I have about 130 MB of free space, but the warning message is still shown. Even after reboot, it is still there. I cannot download new apps from the market nor reinstall old ones. Android always tells me that I'm out of storage.
So to me it seems like something is blocking my device. There is enough free space, but the system does not notice. I tried to clear the cache, but it did not help. Is there any way to fix that problem WITHOUT doing a factory reset?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Froyo supports App to SD. Try going to the application manager and moving some apps to external memory. Most things without a widget will work OK. That will free up some more space.

I have tried that already. The built-in App2SD feature always tells me that the app cannot be moved (even though the button is not grayed-out).
I consider this to be a bug in Android's memory management somewhere. None of the "normal features" to free up space could solve the problem so far. But I'm pretty sure, that some of the tech experts here know a solution. :good:
Come on, no one else got this problem before?
I can provide further information, if that helps.
But I don't want to factory reset (if that helps at all....).
Please help!
Normally cleaning out your SMS inbox and all is the simple fix to this issue. SMS and cache do take up a good amount of space on your internal memory.
i've also experience this problem on my phone (LG C660)
what i did was to root my phone and uninstalled some bloatware applications that i think i might not needed them. then install Link2SD and move other application to the SD Card.
Try clearing the cache of all your apps. I done that earlier, even though I didn't really need to, and xda app alone had 634mb.

try apps which let you explore the root folders(root explorer and the likes) and just go on a deleting spree with apps you dont need in the sytem folder.
hope this helps
try to move the apps to usb storage
go to menu :
setting - apps - manage application
Hello everyone and thanks for your replies.

My inbox is almost empty (<10 messages), so that should not be a problem. Its just some characters.

I don't want to root my SGT yet. And I cannot install any new apps, so all app-based rooting techniques will not work anyway. But I'll put rooting + Link2SD on my todo list and try that when my tablet is up running again.

My apps are not using any cache. I checked them all and also did a reboot. This is not the problem's cause.

What "root folders" are you talking about? I have AndroZip installed, but it seems like most folders on system level are empty. And unfortunately, I cannot install any other apps to explore the file system. Android market won't let me install anything right now (as I said above).

Does not work either, I always get a warning that the app could not be moved (for whatever reason...).
As I said before: It seems like something is blocked internally. I have 136 MB of internal device memory free, so this should be enough to work with. But Android does not agree. And everything worked fine before, when I had less free memory. So what's wrong with my device!? I read about a loopback lagfix, but I'm not sure what it is. Has somebody heard about that?
Have you tried a factory restore
and jus download your apps agen
But rooting the device is better and you get more control over it
but up to you

Hi friends,
I've just installed the ROM Infamous Open Kang (android 4.3 - @Jamison904). Everything is very smooth but when I record video using ROM's camera app, it turns out that there is no sound in the video. I also try Camera ZOOM FX but the problem is still happening. I thought the issue would be from the ROM, but you know, I install Voice recorder app from Play Store and it can record sounds normally.

Plz help me... many thanks to everybody.
Not sure as I didn't try that myself. I will test tonight and pull some longs. Thanks for the heads up my friend.
Hi, here is another thing relating to my 16GB storage...
U know, I just see 11.5GB available in my device even when I connect it with my laptop. So, there might has some more hidden storage, right? How could I make it appeared? And how could I make the 11.5GB appeared in the recovery mode? Whenever I want to flash something, I have to put it in another External card of my cell phone. Next, I plug in the external card to my tablet. Then, I could see zip files and install them by accessing to CWM's function "install zip from external card".
And... the "Phone" app in the ROM does not work... Everytime when I open it, an error appears "Unfortunately, Dialer has stopped."

You have 16GB, but 4,5GB are used for system, kernel, etc... so you only get 11,5GB for your personal use. And yes, you can put .zip files in a sdcard and flash it through recovery, in the "install zip from external card" function.
I'm on the N8013 so i don't have dialer, but you can try to force stop dialer, clean cache and data and give it another try.

Have you checked this? I really like the 4.3 version as I see it has less bugs than the 4.4 version, I didn't test much on both versions as my wife use tha tablet to recird videos
I found one file somewhere here that could help.
dropbox.com/s/sprca0n48lu267y/Android%204.1%20to%20Android%204.2%20Stable.zip
it's some apps from 4.2.2 that can be flashed to 4.1. the camera works fine.
maybe @Jamison904 can use the files to sort the camera issue out.
Hi
I wanted to ask something about Rooting but couldn't find specific section for it or if there is, i am sorry i couldn't locate it. I apologize for it.
I have a Huawei Ascend G610-U20 with Android 4.2.1. The internal memory is 4GB but only 1.86GB is useable (on format). I am using Stock ROM.
I have some applications which are installed in phone memory (sdcard 0, not external sdcard). For example Facebook and by default it doesn't have the option of shifting to SD card, that option is turned off. Similarly this is off for Mix Cloud app. There are so many other apps as well. I use Dodol launcher and all it's themes are on phone memory and cannot be migrated to external SD card.
I found this thread of making SD card as default location for installation. I didn't do it being afraid to make any disastrous changes to my phone.
Then i got to know about rooting and i was again afraid of bricking my phone. This is why i am asking it here. I had previously another Android phone and i rooted it and then it started some problems mainly software clashes. e.g. when viber is being used and a phone call comes, phone restarted. I thought of at least considered that time that this is due to rooting.
My sole purpose of doing any of above method is, to be able to migrate those apps to external SD card which are by default not able to be migrated in stock ROM. Else than this i am not much advanced user and nor do i want to go further deeper.
What you recommend and what is the best way to do.
Just a point to mention, in case of using that 1st method of Android ADB method, i think it would need me to format the phone and then reinstall the apps. Am i right?
Please guide me.
Thanks in advance.
Hi all,
This is my first post in XDA but I've been a regular reader as a guest. I've developed an app(Apps2SD) to move/link apps from internal storage to external SD card with lots of other cool features.
Apps2SD has evolved from being an app which moves app data to sd card to an all in one app with many cool features.

Prerequisites:
Device needs to be rooted
Root permission should be granted to Apps2SD
2 partitions on external SD card (use Apps2SD partition tool to create 2nd partition). 1st partition should be FAT/exFat partition, this is your standard SD card storage. The second partition is used as the internal storage for linked application files and can be ext2, ext3, ext4 or f2fs.

HI Vicky,
let me first congratulate you on making such a useful app which has so many features .Does this app has any device limitations .
thanks , Rahul
Thank you Rahul,
There is no device restriction apart from Android version. The app is supported on android 2.3+.
The app won't partition my 32gb card on a Galaxy Tab 4. It keeps instructing me to reboot. Once I do, the app auto-starts, attempts to partition, then fails. Again, it instructs me to reboot. I never make it past this point. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for the app and your time.

good app.
link2sd and apps2sd when used together have conflicts.
App needs stability. every reboot asks for another soft reboot to mount partition.

Please let me know your device name and android version. Ideally Link2SD and Apps2SD should not be used together. Any app linked by Link2SD will be detected by Apps2SD. If you still want to use them together make sure to deselect auto linking in Link2SD or Apps2SD settings.
As for the post reboot issue. Can you recreate the mount script from Apps2SD, reboot and try again. If the problem still persist send me the content of /system/etc/install-recovery.sh file.
running moto e 5.1.1
using only apps2sd solved the issue. and mount scripts were done from apps2sd itself

Can you send me the Android version. Also are you able to Link/Move apps manually? Also do you mean after selecting all the options in auto link option, newly installed apps are not being moved to SD card?
Please note that Auto link Settings is for newly installed applications. To link existing apps select the app and link individually or use Multi select to link in batch.

Hi guys. I am starting a new thread for this issue, because I have practically tried every possible options to solve the Insufficient storage issue, with no result! Sometimes an app doesn't start downloading, the error box opens showing " There is insufficient space in your internal storage and SD card, please free up some space...." Some other times, the app downloads fully, but can't be installed as the error box appears again - "Insufficient storage."
My device is Lenovo A6000, it's just a few months old. I have more than 500MB in my internal storage and a little less than 6GB on my external SD. I am running Android ver 4.4.4 and have my Play Store updated to the latest version since it automatically updates itself.
I have tried these ways:-
1. Deleting Cache.
2. I uninstalled the updates to Play store to revert it back to the factory version. It worked well for some time, then again the same issue.
3. I unmounted the SD card and remounted it again.
If I transfer an app from another device via ShareIt, I can install it perfectly!
I don't want to root my device just as yet. I mean, isn't there any good way to solve this issue? Is factory resetting the only option here?:crying::crying:
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give.
