Moto G2 Water Damage - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, im new in this Forum and this is my first post, i need help with someone who knows about it. My Moto G2 has suffer watter damage, the phone starts up normally and all other functions work normally too, the problem is that the Frame, the Screen and the Touch doesn't work.
The screen flashes when i connect the charger and why is that? The screen is black all the time and flashes when the charger is connected.
Is there something inside the logic board that have to see with the Touch? or with the Screen?
I have opened my phone and nothing seems burned in the logic board, i haven't see the Frame or the Screen.
Thanks in advance.

The Technicals said to me to just replace the display, but my worry is if theres something failing in the logic board.

[Q] Screen issue, can only see pixels

Hi,
I'm not sure if there already is a thread about this problem, so sorry if there is
When I grabbed my Nexus 5 out my pocket, the screen didn´t work. It only shows pixels. I´ve tried to reset it to factory settings using a hard reset but that doesn´t work. It still only shows the pixels. I can´t send it back to LG for repair because I´ve changed the kernel and I can´t get a connection with my pc. Does anybody have any idea how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!
What do you mean by "can only see pixels" ?? Blurry lines?? Distortion?? If so, there's a possibility that the flex cable might have gone bad.. In any case, you need to send it in for repairs.

Yes I can only see blurry lines in different colours. But is it possible to repair it by replacing the screen + touch module?

May be, May be not. No one can know the extent of the damage without opening up the device.
You need professional help. So, it's either Google (if you've bought from play) or LG. There's nothing you can do here as the screen is completely useless. Just send it in and hope for the best.
If you want to backup your data, you could boot up the phone (if you can) and use adb to backup if you've enabled usb debugging. But that's about it..
Good luck!

Nexus 5 showing only pixels
Hi
Even I am facing the same issue. My nexus 5 is only 4 months old and from the past few days, display is not working consistently. It only shows pixels all over the screen and there is no image at all. Also, there is no physical damage to the phone at all. Although It just fell once recently on its back from a chairs height but it already had a strong spigen slim armor case that provides pretty good protection so i dont think that fall could have caused any internal damage.
A few days after this and after i upgraded to 5.1, I first started to see the screen hanging and then suddenly when i tried to restart, it started showing pixels all over the screen. A few times when i press power button multiple times, then sometimes (say 1 out of 20 times or even less) ,home screen appears but even then it does not work. I am very frustrated with the problem and not sure what could be the issue. Could you please let me know what could be the problem. I have shown it to some repair shops but it looks like they are just looking to grab money and they simply tell me that they can replace display.
So i thought its better to post it here in xda to get feedback on this. Please can you let me know what could be problem, is it hardware or software issue and how it could be resolved. Please help me urgently as I am not able to use the phone.
Thanks.

Messed-Up Display

Hello XDA,
My Nexus 5 running CM12 5.0.2 nightly will not respond to the touches anymore infact when I press the power button to activate the display it acts as if someone is touching it randomly messing all the apps that are running and opening and closing many other things.
Furthermore it displays weird and burned lines throughout the screen. It was not dropped, no water went inside the device or anything. If it helps I did install the OTA updates that CM gives us.
I have also attached pictures so you may get a better understanding of my problem.
Thanks in advance.

Hmm I see. Well since a month HAS passed, its definetly not the rom thats causing the problem, i don't know if anything regarding the software could even be causing the problem. Its 100% hardware and by that i mean the screen, you should change it, the touch and also the display are messed up.

I hate to be the bringer of bad news - but your screen is toast. Fortunately you can replace the touch and display components all at once.

Here is what you need to perform the repairs - and here are the procedures for disassembly.

Trust me, it's not that difficult. Unfortunately, it's a bit pricey ($60 for the screen and digitizer), nevertheless much cheaper than a new device or sending your device in for repairs.

Problem Solved
The screen isn't toast, neither is the digitizer. I have 2 of these phones. The parts which cause problems like this are the main board and the ribbon with the USB connector on it, which also attaches the screen & digitizer to the main board. One was showing lines exactly like this, & also no touch. I put a replacement main board in. Works great now. The other, wouldn't even turn on. I put the main board from the first phone in the second one, it still wouldn't turn on. I replaced the ribbon cable, it turns on and perfectly replicates the issue from the first phone. So now, I have one fully functioning LG Nexus 5, and another which turns on with the same problem as yours. This is good, I started out with 2 of them that were useless to me. So, it appears that your display and touch issues are caused solely by a bad main board. A replacement main board costs somewhere around $75. After swapping stuff around, I have 2 bad main boards, 1 bad USB ribbon & 1 working phone of 2. Not bad, not bad at all.

[Completed] Samsung core 2 lcd/digitizer problem

Hey guyz. My core 2's digitizer was damaged from a dog bite. So i tried to change the digitizer by myself. There is a connector which the flex cable of the digitizer connects with the lcd. I broke that small square shaped connecter. Now the phone turns on to lock screen. Bt after about 10 seconds it hangs. I cannot connect it to kies. I need my contacts in the internal memory. What do u think i should do ? Does the phone needs the digitizer to work properly. I meant is that the reason it hangs ?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I think the only thing you can do is repair/replace the part that was damaged. Yes, the phone requires all parts to be working properly in order to function. If you're not confident enough to undertake the repair yourself it might be a good idea to take it to a professional.
No response in two days, thread closed.

[Completed] Unable to boot Galaxy S Duos 2 S7582's

I've got from someone two Galaxy S Duos 2 S7582.
One had its screen with a huge crack (but worked fine), and the other has a perfect screen but wasn't being able to charge nor start with the first one's battery.
I mean, If I started the first one, it would boot in less than a minute. (Samsung screen with its model, and then Samsung animated logo with blue fading in the background right before finishing booting). While charging it showed the sign of an empty battery for a few seconds, and then the current status of the battery.
The second one if started would only boot till the first samsung screen showing its model, and stay there forever. (at least three hours) While charging it always shows the sign of an empty battery, and goes off once every few seconds.
Huge idea I had "Why not just switch the inside of the working one to the frame of the one with the perfect screen".
So I went to youtube, looked after a video, and found one explaining the process, which is quite simple.
I did It and now the one with the perfect screen still doesn't boot at all, just like before (even with the other's interior). It stays in the same screen forever, and with the same same charging problem.
The second, which supposedly is made with the faulty screen and the faulty interior, does boot after loads of time, but its so slow that it hurts. And by slow i mean, at least half an hour to boot, and totally unusable.
I did reset it to factory with vol up+home+power menu, but i could not even manage to select the language since it only recognised my finger once, took several minutes to pull the language drop-box, and after it did nothing else, like if it crashed.
Why is this happening? I was quite cautious, and both interiors suffered no damage.
From what I can tell, the one that had a perfect screen (with its original interior) seems to have felt in water. At least the interior has a little bit of something white in some part of its frame and in the chips that were there.
But the screen seemed to work just fine, so putting a good interior there should work, no?
Any idea?
Tried switching them back. Everything in the original hardware, but now both have the same non-booting problem.
Not slow boots, no boot at all. It gets stuck in the samsung model image.
Is it possible that some piece of non-working hardware could have damaged the working one? I've been quite cautious, I don't thing that the handling is the problem.
Weird thing is that if the screen, and the board were working, the only thing there that could be damaged were the sensors, either the ones in the screen, or in the shell.

Galaxy s6 battery replacement. touchscreen not responsive!!!

Hello everyone..
I've just replaced the battery for my galaxy S6.. and for some odd reason the touchscreen is not responding anymore. I just disassembled my phone again to see if i disconnected the connector for the LCD/Touchscreen but that is fine. i even disconnected it for 5 minutes to see if that would resolve this issue but no result..
Can anyone please tell me what the problem is? does my phone need a full reset or is there maybe something i've messed up with the motherboard? When i done unscrewing the 13 screws and then continued trying to disassemble the body from its enclosure i did get my "knife" between the LCD and the motherboard at the top of the phone.. could i have messed up something there? Is there any cables or connector between the LCD and the motherboard... if so i have to probably heat the LCD and take it off the body/motherboard.. so please tell me there is nothing between the LCD and body/motherboard..
i hope anyone can help me out here... i really need my phone. the battery is fine and the phone boots up. When i place my thumb on the home button even works! but the screen doesn't...
Thanks in advance.

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.
