Defect - Bubble/dust under screen - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 for about 3 months now. After some time, suddenly a big bubble appeared at the corner of the phone. It seems like there is some dust under the screen. I am not using a screen protector and otherwise there are no scratches etc. on the screen.
I know that there are similar threads - but from what I read, most people who had bubbles had it already when they got the phone.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is this a case for warranty?
I find it weird that the screen suddenly loosens from the device, especially with such an expensive phone.

Sorry for the bad photos. My phone is my only device to take photos with.

Went to the Samsung Service Center. They replaced the screen and casing as part of the warranty within less than 24h. Great service!

Screen cracked while in pocket - any advice?

I had my S6 in my pocket (with nothing else in my pocket) and when I pulled it out the screen was cracked and would not turn on (it would turn on if I pressed where the crack was).
I had a Note II for 3 years using nothing but a bumper case (same as my S6) and I always carried it the same way (in my pocket /w nothing else). My Note II does not have a scratch on it.
I'm pissed so I sent it to Samsung and they told me the phone is out of warranty and I need to pay $270 to fix the screen (mind you I havn't even received the bill to pay for the phone yet). To top it off I had to call to find this out - my ticket kept showing it was not even received.
I would like to see other's opinion on this. I believe the screen cracked due to the loose home button (probably something got stuck between the home button and the screen - you can see a little chip missing there). If I truly did cause the crack I wouldn't have an issue but I can not imagine any way I could have caused this crack

I apologize for the links - it wold not let me post an image or hyperlink....
A broken screen will not be considered a defect 99+% of the time. Wasting your time here my friend on this one

I'm no expert, but that looks a lot like an impact fracture to me.
Also, sadly. broken glass never has and likely never will be part of the warranty. Under normal circumstances, glass doesn't just "fail".
I hate to say it, but you are likely out of luck on this one.
I suggest that you check into insurance coverage like Squaretrade for your next phone. With a cracked screen you will have to pay a deductible but it would be much less expensive.

Glass defect in Galaxy S6

Hello all,
I've just received my new galaxy S6 and it is (was) beautiful. But after few hours normal using I've saw something strange on glass of my phone. There are not a scratches, it's looks rather like spots, blur or something. And there are always looks the same. In same places with same pattern. Is anybody here who had this problem? Can I give it back on warranty? or they will say that this is my fault?

You should definititively bring it to warranty. To me that looks like that the adhesive under the screen has begun to release from the screen. That is definitively not your fault.
... Or have you boiled it in hot water (like techrax....errrr...sorry) :silly:
Anyway... Bring it to warranty because that's very strange. I haven't this issue with my screen and I believe that others neither.
It looks like the glass and the screen are not that well glued together, it's definitely a manufacturing flaw and you should send it back to the store.
I have the same since I bought the phone, but it's visible only under direct light when the screen is off so I don't care. I was thinking I will use the warranty when the screen is scratched in the future

Oleophobic coating on screen issue

Hello form Poland.
So after 3 weeks of having the flat S7 found a coating failure on my phone.
In clean condition there is no mark or visible surface difference.
Just if there is fog or fingermarks the issue is visible. The problem seems to be comparable to the LG G4 problem with the coating.
Attached some pictures.
What do you think? Complaint relevant?
It looks like even my new S7 is suffering from this. When the phone is cleaned its not visible. But when its smudgy, a consistent diagnol line appears. Its not a scratch, its just there.
Edit: pics added
I have the same problem!

I have the same problem and I'm going to service center
did you come there? what did they tell you? what did they do with phone? how did they fix it?
I have the same issue on my S7 edge.
I have the exact same issue around the speakergrill. When I clean it it's not visible but once you touch it and leave fingerprints you can clearly see it. Not sure if there are other areas on my screen with the same problem as it has a protector but hope that it will be covered by warranty if needed.

I also have that issue around the speakergrill. I noticed it after a call, so I thought it must be because I put it against my ear. After a day or two, I noticed it again. Tried to clean it with water, and as soon as I touched it, it returned. It isn't much of an issue, since it isn't anywhere near the screen, but it is a bit annoying.
Did you eventually return your phone?
thats why I bought a Silver color S7 edge, and bought a screen protector...
I have the issue on the s7 around the speaker grill and in the gap between home and display... had the issue on s6 too (around the speaker grill)..

I've got the same problem on my phone. Annoyingly, the day I got the phone I kept the screen protector on but about 1/3 of it lifted off. I short while later I took it off and then waited till the next day till a screen protector arrived.
Fast forward 3 weeks later and I took the screen protector off and now notice the the wear mark, fine when it is clean but visible when smudged. Just niggles at me more than anything. Am considering sending it back for exchange or something.
Did anyone manage to do this successfully? Or did they just say something like wear and tear?
old thread but I have the same issue too, clean it, it looks perfect, the second i touch it and it leaves a fingerprint, looks like a nice long scratch right above my home button on the screen
Just wanted to say i have the same problem around the speaker grill, for now its not too big. Do you think it can get bigger ?
Same problem on my S8. Didn't notice it until day 27 and the folks at samsung are being a complete bear to deal with.

Yellowish spot on the right side of the screen .

Hello everybody!
So I have had my phone for about 2-3 months now.
I have mixed opinions about this phone from the software side but that is not the main problem.
For a few weeks now I am noticing a yellowish tint at right side of the screen, near the bezel. I have not dropped this phone even once, have a case and a tempered glass on it, yet this still managed to happen. I am wondering if some of you have the same problem, since i have not heard about this happening to any other Honoor 8 owner.
And even more important question. Does warranty even cover this type of damage?
Thank you for reading.
P.S. No picture of it now because I do not have anything to take it with.

Issue with mark/smudge under screen

This morning I noticed some kind of mark on my screen. It's not a scratch to the glass more like something under the screen. It's small but once I noticed it it's hard not to see it.
Haven't cracked the screen or had anything done to the screen.
Contact the supplier if there is a defect.
So Verizon?
I have the same issue. They won't replace your phone for it. At least sprint won't. I have a tiny black spec under my screen like a solid single dust particle. It's not a dead pixel and not a scratch. It was there the moment I turned my phone on for first time. I just deal with it lol. It bothers me though
Lol I'll try to get a picture with another phone. Looks like some glue that's got dust on it now.
So I just take it to Verizon now.
