I don't see why not, we have the Snapdragon 808, which is the minimum requirement for windows 10 mobile, and we have 3GB ram.
So it should work.
We'll have to wait and see.

This is my spare play phone, will be great to try win 10 on a phone. Brings back memories of my HTC HD2 days.

Windows 10 will run even on lumia 520 that is a far far cry from snapdragon 808 and 3 GB.

Isn't Intel processor necessary for Windows tro run on it? By that I mean compatibility and source, not hardware req.

I don't think xiaomi will be making a rom for this device. Would be totally awesome if some dev could work a way around

And don't forget it can also run on RPi 2 which is also an ARM system similar to most android phones.

To me it is actually weird it debuted on the Mi4 and not the Mi4C in the firdt place. The Mi4 is more than a year old and the Mi4c has more power and have just been released.
That said, I hope we'll see official Win10 from Xiaomi, as developer support for the Mi4c is weak and I doubt we'll see a port, even if it is a relatively easy one. (The NT kernel, relative similar hardware also from Xiaomi, and a Qualcomm SOC with source)

Windows 10 for Mi 4 (LTE version only)
I don't own a Mi 4, but I do very much wish to run Windows 10 on android..
Does anyone know of a way to flash a rom meant for one phone to another phone model with similar hardware? (edit: Upon further research, it appears the core components of my phone, the LG G4, are identical to that of the Mi 4. The differences in the G4 are only a larger screen, higher resolution, and higher MP cameras. The CPU, RAM, GPU, and chipset, are identical to the Mi 4, so I am tempted to simply flash this rom to the G4 directly. Slap my hand quick if this is a bad idea.)

Xiaomi Phone 2s - $320 - 8MP camera - 1.7GHZ

So beautiful
http://liliputing.com/2013/04/xiaom...+Liliputing+(Liliputing)&utm_content=FaceBook
The Xiaomi Phone 2S is a $320 smartphone with a 4.3 inch, 1280 x 720 pixel display, a 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.
It has a 2000mAh battery and an 8MP camera. There’s also a 32GB model which sells for about $370. And those prices are without any subsidies from wireless carriers.
On paper, it sounds pretty competitive with the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S IV, both of which will ship with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor in the US (The international version of Samsung’s phone will feature an Exynos 5 Octa).
The Xiaomi Phone 2A is a cheaper model with a starting price of about $240. It has a 1.7 GHz Qualcomm MSM8260A dual-core processor, a 4.5 inch, 1280 x 720 pixel display, 1GB of RAM, ad 16GB of storage.
Both phones feature MIUI v5 software. It’s based on Android, but it has a user interface that’s been redesigned to look a bit more iPhone-like. The latest update also includes call recording, support for walkie-talkie type messaging, and more.
Just like a Nexus 4! But cheaper.

Got one => benchs
hi there,
got my hands on a unit (16GB). Aspect is exactly like Mi2. You can't tell.
Miui software strictly co,patible, as I flashed it with a 3.4.12, works like a charm.
Here's a first bench, not bad ...
or link http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=834899IMG201304171427291.jpg
Got one too, not bad
Got one too, left my HTC Sensation in a cab and couldn't retrieve it (despite having lookout installed..worthless). Basically came down to deciding between Xiaomi 2S, SGSIII, or Note II. Ended up with the Xiaomi 2S 16GB due to price (USD400) and nice internal specs. Couldn't justify spending so much more for not that many more features that I personally use in the other devices. I'm not a fan of MIUI, I'm using APEX Launcher.
The camera is pretty amazing IMO even though I just have the 8MP version, seems 32GB 13MP version is sold out most everywhere.

[Q] Moto G running in quad-core mode all the time on Android 5.1?

Yesterday Francisco Franco posted this where he says that on Android 5.1, the Nexus 6 is running all the time in quad-core mode. This is possible at kernel level. As far as I know all Moto G 2013 are quad-core too.
So, it´s possible that this can be adjusted also for Moto G when Motorola releases stock 5.1 or GPE 5.1? Or this is exclusive for the Nexus 6 processor?
Thanks in advance!

Don't buy MediaTek Version of Xiaomi Redmi Pro

For anybody who (maybe) will buy the Redmi Pro... Xiaomi also sell phones in India, but they can not sell MediaTek devices, so the need a Snapdragon version, like on the Redmi Note 3.
I just post this to warn you, if you never had a Xiaomi device before. Just wait a lil bit and you will get a better version for the same price.

BTW, yeah don't buy MTK variant or you will be stuck on the shipped android version forever, no custom roms, nada.
I don't even think Xiaomi is gonna release it with Qualcomm. You know, Deca-Core is the thing they're marketing for Redmi Pro. But there's no Qualcomm SoC having 10 cores. The whole idea behind a "Pro" Redmi is 10-cores and OLED. As you know, they can't release MtK device in India. So, there's will not be any Redmi Pro without MTK. Thus, don't wait for a Qualcomm variant. You'll wait forever.

There's no guarantee that Xiaomi will release a Snapdragon variant just because it did it with the RN3. It may release only the RP Mini to India; why else would they release the Mini with a Snapdragon processor? It costs Xiaomi more.
Also, I previously owned both variants of the RN3, and the MediaTek version's camera was superior to the Snapdragon's camera.
I've already ordered the MediaTek variant and plan to run the developer ROM until TWRP and xiaomi.eu support appear.

Galileo or GNSS

Someone can tell me if with nougat rom on nexus 5 can you use galileo for location? Thanx!
No answer?
It looks like Qualcomm is giving software Updates and Support only for this SoC Snapdragon 427, 435, 617, 625, 626, 650, 652, 653,*820, 821 e 835, Wear 1100 and 820 Automotive.
So even if our Snap 800 and even the 808 have iZat8gen GPS chipset seems like they'll not be updated, surely when the updates will be delivered (Q3 2017) someone will have to work on it and bring a custom driver for the other devices.
We can have BeiDou and Glonass but they're old comparing to the new standards carried by Galileo!
Unluckily this is the market and it's based on built-in obsolescence and new features are shown only on the last flagships.

Don't you think the developers who know how to develop AOSP already know? They are WAY ahead of you. If you checked the dev forum instead of being lazy you would see that there is already an alpha of CyanogenMod 14.1 which is built from sourcecode.
The problem is not MTK sources, it's Redmi Note 4 sources. Drivers for the camera and the fingerprint reader and stuff like that.
Sorry if you think I'm being rude, but this is borderline a troll/spam thread. You get people half excited from the title then share a repo link that any child could find in Google.
Please leave the development to the developers.

And yet you decided to try your luck and get another MTK device?
Most of us are aware that getting an MTK device means no AOSP. We get them because they have a high price-to-performance ratio.
Personally I am glad to move away from the Xperia series; it had every AOSP fork under the sun being made for it but they were ALL buggy. It's just torture. If you really want that kind of developer stuff, you should get a Google device.

It may be faster, but it's not better overall. SD 625 is based on newer architecture (14nm) which makes it cooler in load and offer your phone much better battery life. If you don't do serious gaming, the difference in speed is not even noticable (Also SD 650 is gonna throttling much sooner because of higher temperatures, which is point where SD 625 can match it's performance). And about ROMs... You can't be serious! RN3 Pro is year older than RN4X, which is still new device. Of course more people have it therefore more people develop for it. Give it some time, and RN4X gonna excede RN3Pro (even now there is developement for all ROM's I'm interested in and a lot more). Also 625 is newer than 650 so it's gonna be supported longer.

"Better" is subjective. For starters, my X20 Note 4 does not overheat (in fact this is the first I've ever heard about thermal issues on this thing). Secondly, battery life is a non-issue for me - I get ~5 hours SoT which is more than enough to last me a whole day, even two or three if I don't get to charge one night for whatever reason.
The SD is actually probably the same in gaming sine the MTK GPU is underpowered, but in the CPU department the Helio X20 beats the pants off of the SD. You say the speed is not noticeable yet you just admitted you don't even have a Note 4 MTK variant so how do you know? The numbers speak for themselves - the Geekbench score is just too big for it to not be noticeable when under load.
ROM's are a moot point, they don't interest me - only an idiot (or, I suppose, a former fan who regrets their purchase) buys a Xiaomi device and gets rid of MIUI. You can get a Nexus or last-gen Xperia device or whatever for cheaper if you want that crap.
Anyway, you said you don't even have an MTK device, yet you're in here criticizing it, that's like a perfect example of trolling. I'm unsubbing, not gonna waste my time on this anymore.
Personally, I got the Note 4 at the time (right near launch) because I needed a new phone RIGHT NOW, I wasn't going to wait ~6 months for a device that's the same price and only a little bit better - if I waited six months I could of saved more and gotten a high end device. But the SD variant only has two things going for it - better battery life, and support for non-MIUI ROM's - two things that I and many others don't need.
You Said it all Dan..but many users think they know better...

You should read more and write less. I was comparing SD 650 and SD 625. Didn't even mention MTK or RN4 (nikel). So your whole post is actually pointless.

You were comparing SD chipset in the wrong thread. This is a Mediatek subforum. So actually, his post is not pointless.

True. It was OT, but I just responded to someone else's comment. Didn't come with it on my own.

OK let me get this straight. The culprit here is xiaomi and not mediatek for not releasing sources? Is there any chance xiaomi will release sources? How come snapdragon note 4 has so many roms? Does that mean xiaomi has released sources for it? Has mediatek released sources for this device? Sorry for asking

Neither note 4 has official source from Xiaomi. Difference is that Snapdragon devices can be made to boot from CAF source from Qualcomm due to sheer experience, and the same has not been accomplished with Mediatek's Helio X20 source. That and xda has a massssssssuve preference towards Qualcomm anyways due to repeat positive experiences, so most developers spend the time on Qualcomm devices.

Oh sorry, I just assumed you had the MTK version because... well.. THIS IS THE MTK SUBFORUM.
You come in here and trash-talk a device/chipset you don't even have, and expect us to value your opinion? Please.

Do you not know that the combo of cpu, camera, soc, on the redmi note 4 is simillar to a lot of other androids lol. And those other androids have their sources released. You know where jm going with this. Redmi note 4 snapdragon having a lot of custom roms is in no way a big thanks to the redmi note ⁴ community itself. Get real.
personally I dislike miui as it has no support for advanced USB OTG features such as gamepad compatibility or being used as a usb keyboard/touchpad mouse for your pc . though at least the MTK chipset on this phone supports 10bit h265 and vp9 which makes it good for long trips. provided most of your trip isn't in direct sunlight.
