Dazed and confused - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Hello All,
I can usually figure most things out....this time I'm kind of stumped. Verizon just sent me a replacement M8. I'm running Viper One on my old one so I figured I would get after rooting/ S-off this new one.
I was able to load Kingroot and Sunshine. Worked through that and achieved root/S-off. Installed the latest TWRP and attempted to load the latest SuperSu. I can not get it too flash. I have tried flashing in revovery (TWRP) tried it in Flashify.
Can someone help me out with the commands to flash in fastboot. I have been searching but can't find the thread I'm looking for.
Ohhh....Just a heads up....I went into My Backup Pro and froze KingRoot. I don't advise doing this. Just lost root and now I can not get back into My Backup Pro to unfreeze King Root LOL
Thanks,

If you are S-OFF, all you need to do is flash the ROM of your choice in a custom recovery.
The ROM comes pre-rooted.

Why would I do anything the Easy Way....LOL. I was actually just going to leave this one stock for now and give it to my wife when the A9 comes out for Verizon..
Thanks for your reply

[Q] Upgrading to new OTA update with rooted phone and TWRP

Hello everyone. I'm somewhat of a noob still and I would appreciate any help you could give me.
I'm trying to install the new OTA update that came out today but I'm having issues. I have a rooted One S with TWRP recovery, and everytime I try to install the OTA update it brings me to the TWRP recovery screen. I'm pretty sure this is because I don't have stock recovery. I've even tried "unrooting" with Voodoo Over the Air root, but it keeps bringing me to the TWRP recovery screen.
I rooted my phone with the All-In-One root kit, and I really don't want to lose everything on my device (or have the pain in the butt of restoring everything). Is there another way? Or is there an easy way to reinstall the stock recovery with the AIO kit? I know the AIO kit has the option to install other recoveries, but I'm not sure where to get the stock one.
Please help! I really want to upgrade.
Thanks so much for your help!

I personally had to flash stock recovery and you can get it from here: http://www.modaco.com/topic/353006-...ch-recovery-for-the-htc-one-s-stock-download/
Use second "Download" link, which is ville_recovery_signed.img
Thank you so much! Trying it now.

Check this out
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907564
Scroll half way down and you get a list of different steps you may have to do in order to get it done.
Most include installing "OTA RootKeeper" from GooglePlay
Steps vary from how your phone is setup. Stuff like do you have Root, Custom or stock Mod, or CWM or stock recovery. Check it out. I'm trying it now.
(adding more to it so I don't double post.)
I tried the method with Root Keeper, it doesn't seem to work for me. It also seems as though a few others are having the same issue. Someone recommended use an RUU to go completely stock, therein losing all your data unless you back all that stuff up.
I'm going to avoid an RUU at all costs, I hate having to reset up my phone. Plus I just got a XOOM I need to work more on and get setup so I don't want to put more time on the phone than I have to as to take away time from my XOOM.
Let me know if you run into any success! PM if you need to.
Hello. Any stock recovery for Ville C2 (One S s3)? I'm looking everywhere and I cannot find. I want to update to JB with OTA

[Q] I feel like such a noob

Hi,
I'm getting killed with this device. I have a VZW XT926 Stock from reverting back to VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-10.1_CFC_1FF.xml this twice tonight:
I'll begin with how I started, I unlocked the SIM and threw a T-Mobile in there. No problems, so I rooted with Towelunlock, installed SuperSU and updated the Binary. Then I installed TWRP2710-RAZR-HD_M-KITKAT through Fastboot. I could get into TWRP and all was right with the world. Then I tried to install cm-11-20140708-SNAPSHOT-M8-moto_msm8960 and I'd get stuck at the Moto dual core logo. No progressing. So I thought maybe the Factory reset wipe wasn't enough in TWRP so back to recovery and wipe everything, and flash again and reboot and same result. So now I can only boot to recovery I didn't backup my current rom, cause, ya know I'm a stoopid, and I have to factory reset to 4.4.2, and re root, and re unlock sim. Frustrated right now to the point of entertaining the idea of using this Verizon bloat rom rooted and not going for CM11.
I'm sure I'm too tired to keep this up tonight, and I'll probably really brick my phone if I keep at it without any sleep. My question for you is:
What am I doing wrong, what simple instruction am I missing when reading that is screwing me up? Because I'm too dumb/tired/whatever to figure it out without your help.
The snapshot is for the old kernel. Download the newest nightly. I ran into the same issue not knowing. Its that easy!
You need to start over jethro....back to HoM And this time make a backup of Stock before flashing a custom rom

safestrap & TWRP... at same time?

ok. is it even possible to have two recoveries running at once? On normal boot-up, I get the safestrap screen asking to continue or enter recovery. I have flashed TWRP and I can get to TWRP by fastbooting and entering recovery that way. I feel i have set myself up to brick in the hard sense. I just unlocked w/ sunshine and am trying to make a backup before i really start screwing stuff up.
If you're unlocked with TWRP then safestrap is redundant since you can't utilize the extra ROM slots.

that was kind of my thoughts too. I did remove safestrap manually. Im still tying to update with the latest OTA, but with no luck. thanks.

The update isn't going through because you have TWRP installed. Flash to stock recovery and try again.
Sorry I left that out, I have removed TWRP. I have returned to as stock as I can. Flashed back to factory. Still no success on OTA update. Im hunting for the files now and i will hopefully flash it myself.

[Q] So I got the OnePlus One. What next?

I was using an iphones for 3 years and learnt all about jailbreaking and unlocking and then I made a switch to android in 2013. I got myself a nexus 4 and stock android was good enough for me and I used my nexus 4 till it gave up very recently. With the nexus 4 I never really cared about rooting the phone for whatever reasons and now with the Oneplus I am very interested to start customizing it. The only problem is my knowledge on rooting phones, flashing, custom roms and kernels are 0. I don't even know what people mean by those things. Yes, a complete noob but I can learn pretty quickly and follow instructions well. So where do I start now?
Any help is appreciated.
First thing to do is unlock your bootloader, then install TWRP recovery, then make a backup of your stock ROM. From there you can root your stock ROM or you can flash a custom ROM, or you can just leave it as is. But the most important thing is to unlock your bootloader now, before you really start using the device because it wipes all user data during the unlock process. I have a guide thread here:

I was like you a couple of months back. I'll tell you this, before you start anything make sure you do a back up. That's the most important thing. From there on you can do whatever your heart desires. As my friend above has stated unlock the boot loader, install a custom recovery and you're ready to go.unlocking the boot loader will allow you to install a custom recovery. You need the custom recovery to flash zip files such as ROMs and kernels etc. I hope this helped !

So I did as it said on the video by xda developers. I did everything and the phone seems to be working fine except for the fact that it isn't rooted properly. I download ROM Toolbox and it gave me a warning message saying no root access found. Then I downloaded Root Checker from playstore and verified my root and it says my phone hasn't been rooted properly.
I manually rooted my phone by using TWRP custom recovery + SuperSU.
Edit: Did a clean up within SuperSU & installed it again using google play and now it works properly. The only thing that was different this time I was prompted to install the binries which I wasn't asked to when I used TWRP to install SuperSu.

Enjoy it It's a great phone, take it easy read, read and read again BEFORE doing anything. Make sure you have the right files for the right phone. Always do a backup before doing any changes.

[RESOLVED] Rooted my Nexus 5 then got stuck in bootloop

Hi everyone!
I wanted to root my Nexus 5 to free up some space. I tried many different youtube tutorials but none of them seemed to work. I found this article and followed it exactly but with updated twrp, kernel, and SuperSU.
androidpit. com/ how-to-root-nexus-5-on-android-marshmallow
-twrp-3.0.3-0-hammerhead.img
-BETA-SuperSU-v2.52
-ElementalX-N5-6.27
When I rebooted the system, I left it overnight on my charger cause i thought it was just taking a long time. When I woke, it was still stuck on the four circles. I tried different suggestions to escape the bootloop, but none have worked. I'm letting my battery die right now.
This is my first time rooting an android. If anyone has any solution, please help!
Flash back to the latest stock to see if that helps.
Supersu 2.52 is quite old.
Many custom ROMs are pre-rooted so there is no need to flash supersu.
Thank you!

Thank you for responding! I tried this out and it worked!
Since Supersu is old, what do I need to root my Nexus?
If you want to root a stock ROM, flash twrp and then flash the latest version of supersu from twrp.
