hey guys, i received the 5.1.1 update with new icons couple weeks ago, and one week ago i did a factory reset, now i am looking to schedule a message but i can't find it in the messages options....am i missing something?
EDIT: weird, i found it, but, there seems something wrong or at least weird, if you enter the messages options and turn on "enhanced messaging" it changes the menu in the messages app and it no longer shows the schedule option, however, if you turn it off then the schedule option appears again....is this how it should be?
How weird surely it should be the other way around?

Hi,
I have a question.. is it possible to change the settings so that text messages that we get show the time as the sent time instead of received time.
I did a search for this on the forums (and google) and i believe someone worked on it for the galaxy s I9000. Is there anything we can do for the Nexus S. I also saw that there is an app called SMS Timestamper fix which adds the correct times to the texts, but i just wanted to know if its possible to fix it in the phone settings itself?
Thanks,
the SMS time fix is only to show received time, not sent time
the sent time should be recorded properly as it uses the time you sent out on your phone

Im not sure if you are thinking the same as me. I dont have any issue with the time being an hour behind the correct time (which is what i understand the time fix is for, but correct me if i am wrong).
The situation I have at the moment is, say i am in an area without reception and people send me smss. I do not receive them, but as soon as i go into an area with reception, all the sms's arrive on my phone. However, the time associated with the sms's is that of when they arrive on my phone (ie when i have just moved back into an area with reception), and not the time they were sent (which would be much more useful).
Hope that makes sense, and sorry if you did understand my problem already.
I have searched in the default messaging app, but i cant find the settings Use original timestamps. Maybe I am missing something.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
I just checked and use original timestamp is there indeed. Check it again man.

very odd indeed... i checked again, i went to messaging app (the default one with the green bubble icon with smiley face), settings, and definitely not there for me. I see settings for delivery reports, but not a "use original timestamp".
I am running the deodexed stock rom with voodoo kernel, posted by master, perhaps this is causing the issue? (i actually believe i have never seen this setting on my phone even when i was running 100% stock with normal kernel).
Is there anyway i can reinstall the default messaging app?
Is there any way to have the led for the notification still notify you of stuff when the phone is charging? I keep having a constant red or green and it is annoying that it does not change to notify of new messages and stuff.
Quick note, yes I have used the search, and it just showed that no one was helpful even years ago. And no I can not root my phone, since it an incredible 2, which currently can not be rooted. So your answer better be more helpful than "root it" and "use search"
Thanks.
There are some apps which can do a beep sound every min or so if you have a message. Without it rooted it is the only way. Try searching for "text notify" or something similar. I've forgot the name of the app at the moment. Used to have it a while back before I understood rooting

Thanks! Such a strange limitation...hopefully they will come out with some OS level fix.
Hi all
I have a frustrating issue with my HTC One Mini, which I think has been since the 4.3 update, and wonder if it is just me??
I am pretty certain that when I received either a text message or an email when the lock screen is on, it previewed the message. Well not any more! I used to find this really handy!
All settings seem correct, in security and the mail app etc.
Any information or fix appreciated.
Thanks
I'm sure I've read someone else with similar issues on here, maybe a 4.3 issue. Have you checked "personalize" under settings and made sure your lock screen it's set to the right mode?

Hi, thanks, yes I seem to recall reading something about this, but cannot find any info after searching!
Yes, all settings correct..........
Yup, this thing came with Sense 5.5, afaik no way around it
I think you can disable or enable to read at the security then you can enable the message preview. You must of hit disabled when you made your lock screen. Hope that helps.

Sounds interesting, but not entirely sure what settings you mean. I have the notification settings set under Security, is there another settings?
Thanks!

Did you turn on bypass to lock screen? If you did, try not to or remove the lockscreen then try to see if you can receive messages.
HTC have confirmed to me that the 4.4 KitKat update will address this issue. However, no timescale was given for the release date.
Anyone know when this might roll out to UK users?
Thanks

Users in the 4.4.2 KitKat thread are already using it and say it still isn't fixed.

Oh no!
Time for a simple alternative . Anyone tried NiLS or Screen Notification apps?
Thanks
When I text on T-mobile, I can see the status of the SMS / Text messages like "Send", "Read" at the bottom of each text that you send.
Now I dont see that anymore.
Do you know how to turn it on or off?

If you or the person you're texting isn't in LTE coverage area then that happens also.

Try this, open the dialer and go to the settings. Then disable VoLTE and then enable it again and see if it works.

It work! That was the problem. Now I can see the message status.
Is this a known bug? Is there a FAQ on this? I wonder what makes it not working.

Glad to hear it's working man, I never had to do that but I heard someone else say it worked for them.
I never thought I'd say this, but coming from an iPhone and I feel like Apple actually has the better notification system. Is there a trick with EMUI to get notifications to be able to open from the lockscreen? I don't want to have to go all the way in to the app to reply to a text (stock app) or email (Google inbox). It seems as though you can do nothing with the lockscreen notifications besides look at them. I'm talking the main screen by the way, not the actual notification screen. Please help a returning Android consumer of you can. I'm hoping there's just a setting somewhere I'm missing to get this to work. Thanks!

Maybe this?
Yea I get the notification on the lockscreen, I just can't do anything with it other than double tap to open the respective app. With the iPhone, I can reply to a text or email directly from the lockscreen without ever leaving the lockscreen.

If you install/use Textra instead of the stock text app, I believe you can reply directly from the notification.
Yes that's the route I'm going to have to go. Thanks for the replies...Stock just doesn't do it.

In fact huawei notifications are not actionable. I doubt it'll be same for third party apps too

FYI, I have noticed one strange oddity when replying to texts directly from the lockscreen in Textra, vs. unlocking the phone and replying: when typing in my keyboard (I use Swiftmoji), press & hold on keys doesn't work. For example, to do an exclamation point in this keyboard, you press & hold the period, which brings up the exclamation point, question mark, etc. Press/hold doesn't work. But if I unlock and continue my reply, it works.
Personally, it's not a big deal to me to unlock the phone and reply from the app, except when the phone is sitting on my desk. I'm not really sold on the rear mounted fingerprint sensor. My phone is most often laying near me face up.
