Hi all,
I just bought a Oneplus One yesterday and it's really wow.... So far so good, I am just happier than I've ever been with a phone.
I was wondering if there was a way to change the owner or register onto Oneplus website to get the Oneplus invitations for my relatives, even if I bought it second hand?
Did anyone of you tried this?
Thanks,
Thomas
PS: That's not a must have and I guess I'll have to discuss with the guy who sold it to me to make sure he is fine with the principle as well. But if it's possible, I'll try it.

If you are just concerned with getting invites for yourself, you need not change the ownership and whatsoever.
Instead, go to OnePlus website and simply signup/register for invite on your desired email address.
Once you receive the invite on your provided email address, use that email address to sign up for creating a OnePlus Account and claim that invite and that's it, now you are a owner of an invite

Hi all my fellow doubleshot users
I received another round of invites from oneplus and have two left that will expire soon
for those unfamiliar with the device or the trouble it is to obtain one have a look here:
http://oneplus.net/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one
as you can see it has the specs to beat nearly any flagship out there yet costs a fraction of the price (even less than a nexus)
to boot it comes with a special variant of cyanogen as the stock ROM
This phone has been praised but just about every tech expert and i will say they are all correct, a fantastic phone that is worth twice as much!
the problem is getting one, you need an invite just to buy
so free of charge i have an invite for you! feel free to let me know why you want one
and note you must be ready to purchase within 24hrs from the time you claim the invite (payments are paypal only so have an account)
you all wont be disappointed, this is by far the best phone i have ever used and trust me i have used a lot!
also you must register for an account at the oneplus website
I would like an invite. My old phone is running like a champ... or it was, it is dying. I was going to hold out for a Nexus 6, but after hearing it will have a 6" screen... Well let's just say I'm not ready to take 6 inches in the pants....
I have received an invite. Thanks for the offer!
I don't know if you have any invite left, but I'm very much interested in buying a 64gb sandstone black!!!
The reson why I want one is simple, my wife keeps using my S3, so I'm planing to give it to her, and buy an oneplus one for myself.
Thank you very much!
Sorry no more right now but when I get more I'll post back

How had I not heard about this phone? Ever since I got my Doubleshot, newer phones really haven't grabbed my attention because it does everything I need and none of the new offerings were really compelling.... until now.
It looks amazing.
Hi Everyone!
I've recently received an email from the person who sold me my N5 requesting the IMEI.
When I asked why he said Google is requesting it for security reasons.
I then asked him to ask Google to contact me directly, but he said that couldn't happen because the phone was originally bought under his Google account.
I'm not too sure if I should provide him with it, can anyone give me any advice on this??
Thank you heaps!
Additional info:
The phone was bought from a private sale over Trade Me, basically the eBay of New Zealand.
Phone was advertised as brand new but was opened at the custom for checks. When I received it, it didn't have the protective layer over the screen.
Later found defect on the device, and with the seller's assist I had it sent back to LG America and got an replacement.
Google already has your IMEI so I'd say to not send it to this person.
Yea they can use it to report it lost or stolen and get the device shut down

This was my first thought.
Which means they can probably get a crime number which their insurance will want before sending them a replacement
Only bad things can come from giving someone your IMEI...
Sent from my Nexus 5 with the N5X LRX22C ROM
As mentioned, it sounds like the seller wants to scam you and get the phone replaced and blacklist the one you have

Google (or other legit businesses) do not call people for their Imei number, you`re a fool if you just hand it to anyone. Do NOT give this number to ANYONE mate
thanks for all the replies everyone!
Appreciated!
Here's the situation, I want to buy this phone for my mother so I though I'd take a look at amazon UK as they had sellers listed as OnePlus themselves but I was suspicious, after some searching I found they only sell the chinese version on amazon which I've heard has more problems
I don't know a single person who owns one so getting an invite is kinda....impossible.
Should I settle for the Chinese version or scour the internet till I can get an invite, time is important here as she needs it for work.

Look around the invite threads here and on the oneplus forums, someone will probably throw you an invite. I'd give you one if I had any
Just to expand, in my opinion it's worth trying to get an invite to buy one from oneplus as I think there's issues with your warranty if you buy from anywhere else.

Very similar situation with Verizon.. called them many times but they saidthe phone was under contract and I'd need the account info and before they can help me. I've tried to contact the guy on fb where I bought it and seen his post from a sell/buy page yet his account. Is no longer available or doesn't show when I search his name. I asked if I could have a number they have on file or can they contact him and they said that they couldn't due to privacy issues.. I bought the s7 edge from him and now only use it have of it is an Internet Explorer... it's a very nice phone set me back 240.00 between a rock and a hard place please help. Or any advice on what to do just try and sell it across seas get a Lil money back. That was about the best advice I have gotten so far. Thanks guys

You've been had, it seems they sold you a device that has been blacklisted due to non payment on their bill.
The only way to activate this phone is for the former owners bill to be paid, then they will remove the block.
Otherwise, sell it, but make it known to any buyers that it does not have a valid IMEI/blacklisted.
Don't cheat someone the way you were cheated, cut your losses and consider it a lesson learned, then be smarter the next time you buy a used device. Remember, when you find a deal that's too good to be true, it usually is.
If you buy from ebay, only buy devices that say they have a good/valid IMEI and only from sellers with a very high rating.
The safest option for buying used devices is to use Swappa.com.

Not sure if you got my earlier reply I just want to thank you for taking the time to answer my question.. Verizon totally left me in the dark basically. It's weird that Verizon won't let me pay a balance if there is one left won't lmk anything. Especially seems how I'm on a sister network and ultimately I'd be bringing them money in not even bring the phone in. Lol anyways I appreciate it again may try and sell it no worries won't do unto others what was done onto me feels kinda crappy.. ttyl

They won't discuss or handle anything specific about an account with anyone but the authorities or the owner of the account, for security and privacy reasons, they are bound by law on this.
On a side note, if you bought the device from eBay then eBay might reimburse your purchase because what you received was not what was listed, you didn't get what you paid for. It wasn't listed as invalid IMEI, it was posted and sold as if it was all legit when it wasn't. eBay might handle this for you, it's worth a shot, at least.

hi guys. I've just opened this thread cose I don't know what else to do.
I have returned my OnePlus 7 pro as it was faulty and got another one (currently using OnePlus 7 pro)
my device arrived at their return center on may 31( I have the proof of the delivery)
however, the OnePlus costumer service just don't want to give my money back.
I've contacted them 5 times already. asked to talk to supervisor (the supervisor didn't contact me either, though they promised that will call me back.
any advice what should I do would be highly appreciated
I had similar problem and the only way that worked was PayPal claim because the customer service did not answer to messages
Thanks a lot for your reply? I'll contact to my bank regarding this issue
Bummer, contact your credit card company if necessary...

Depending on your payment method (Credit card or PayPal), open a dispute with them. Good luck.
I haven't experienced such issues with support myself, but it seems many others are. It's one thing to have poor technical support, but a whole other thing when it comes to money.
OnePlus should definitely take things like refunds a lot more seriously and ensure everything is running smoothly in that regard, as it's probably very scary to feel you've been robbed of hundreds of dollars :/
This is why I try to make all my payments through PayPal as you can file claims through them.
You are right. When it is about money it should be all extremely serious!
because of their service, I had to pay more to my credit card company ! And why?
OnePlus trying to enter into flagship phone's market! but they took wrong rout to do so! They talked to me like they are doing me a favor when I was talking to their costumer service! And why? Because Ive just paid them 1400$? This is anaceptable!
Next time I'll use only PayPal and I hope will never do business with subpar companies.
I hope people can be aware by reading this thread!
Always PayPal.... Helps to avoid the customs import fees as well....

Did they give you another one ?
Because you know you wouldn't be entitled to a refund if that was the case,
Sorry, based on your story, had to ask

Yea,sorry had to ask, that sucks. Whenever something like that happens to me I use PayPal dispute and it's never let me down ,other than a bit of waiting for it all to be resolved. One time I had an issue with a debit card purchase,I had to apply for a chargeback, had to gather a bit of evidence and post it away but got my money back eventually,
Pain in the neck alright

I have opened a dispute with my credit card company already. Moreover , today I got another RMA from them . like 26 days after my first RMA. I'm getting another one. They have just lost my device and want me to pay for it! Also On my first RMA they didn't put IMEI number. This second one contains my IMEI, and has COMPLETELY different RMA..
