Hi all my fellow doubleshot users
I received another round of invites from oneplus and have two left that will expire soon
for those unfamiliar with the device or the trouble it is to obtain one have a look here:

as you can see it has the specs to beat nearly any flagship out there yet costs a fraction of the price (even less than a nexus)
to boot it comes with a special variant of cyanogen as the stock ROM
This phone has been praised but just about every tech expert and i will say they are all correct, a fantastic phone that is worth twice as much!
the problem is getting one, you need an invite just to buy
so free of charge i have an invite for you! feel free to let me know why you want one
and note you must be ready to purchase within 24hrs from the time you claim the invite (payments are paypal only so have an account)
you all wont be disappointed, this is by far the best phone i have ever used and trust me i have used a lot!
also you must register for an account at the oneplus website
I would like an invite. My old phone is running like a champ... or it was, it is dying. I was going to hold out for a Nexus 6, but after hearing it will have a 6" screen... Well let's just say I'm not ready to take 6 inches in the pants....

How had I not heard about this phone? Ever since I got my Doubleshot, newer phones really haven't grabbed my attention because it does everything I need and none of the new offerings were really compelling.... until now.
It looks amazing.

I promised pwnyourace a Photon Q this week and had it not been for a family member dropping her Epic and it not being worth replacing, I gave my sister my second Photon Q. But I'm not one to break promises, and while money isn't exactly the easiest commodity at the house I live in to come by I do have at the moment $60 to put towards getting another phone for you my friend. Perhaps even more to send out to one or more developers that visit this section and I'm wondering would anyone else be willing to contribute a donation to the cause? Hell even a dollar would help, if I see any kind of interest in this, which does seem promising so far especially since I'm just an average user and I'm willing to drop a decent amount of money on this if others would help chip in.
How should i do this? I know this might be the wrong section so if it is Mods can you please put this where it does belong? Or if there is a dev right now that wants to upgrade but is short on cash, maybe I can help there too. Most importantly, however, I wantr to admit that I broke my promise to pwnyourace. I am not ashamed of the choice I have made (and I would do it again, family always comes first), and I STILL want to help out in any way I can. So I guess i"m asking if either pwnyourace wants to upgrade through sprint and I/we can help finance it OR maybe we can strike a deal with some devs and we can fund devices for those who need them in exchange for a promise to put in X amount of hours into development for said device.
If no one else wants to participate or is unable, I will add another $10-20 a week to my Photons4Devs fund and when there's enough in there you will receive a phone to work with, so worst case sceanario it might be mid-late march when it arrives.
I have $75 so far for a photon Q fund. anyone want to sell one ? I will pay and you ship it to pwnyourace.
Let's help out guys everyone wants software but no one wants to help people get us there.
I'll throw in $10. New development is always good though I'm more than happy with pwnyourace's modded ROM

I pm'ed pwnyourace to see if he has a PayPal we can send the donations too or if we should just find one for sale and PayPal the seller. Anyone have any other ideas? Seems like there's at least $100 so far so that should be enough. I'll check online tonight and see if any are available for that price.
If you can find a battery I got one with a bad ESN that I'm doing the gsm mod to before trying it on mine... But it won't have a battery since the battery on mine broke if you can find a battery for it its all yours

Thats great! But finding battery is not a piece of cake... The only one I found is there http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-motorola-photon-q-4g-lte-xt897-battery-eb41.html and its 33$ + 15$ shipping... maybe it would be wiser to buy photon q from ebay with broken screen, ive seen some before for around 50$....

I saw on Swappa 2 photon Q's for $110 but ill throw in 20 should we just consolidate sendign it all to one person so they can purchase it ?
I have the money to buy it if i get it send to him willing to reimburse?

I decided getting an extra battery for the extra phone was the cheapest route for us so I ordered it. I should have it in two weeks as soon as I get it I will send the phone off to him.I cant wait for more to be done with this phone.

Yeah I rather sell my Nexus 5 and pocket the money from the difference .
I'm in a reasonable position where I bought a Nexus 5 outright back in November because my GS3 had been dropped one too many times and acts very flakily. It probably only stays on for 5 minutes at a time so I registered and was happy to see the GS3 on the accepted phone list.
It's just going to sit in a drawer anyway so if I get the chance to smash it and get a new phone for a dollar then I'll take it. I doubt I'll make the list though.

lol, i just want to destroy that phone, not like i can really switch to the oneplus anyway until after i paid off more of my note 3 through sprints easy pay thing so that i can do my equipment swap since apparently you can't use previously owned equipment after you get the installment crap on the device

Seeing as I'd only get around 250 for my nexus 5 if I went the eBay & craigslist route, I'd rather not go through the trouble and just smash it for the one+1. I hour I get picked. If not then I'll have to go the long route and maybe get the 64 gig one. Either way in getting this phone! Lol

Well, it's a marketing gag, nothing more. They want to show that ppl are ready to smash flagships for their phone. There is no pride to be gained if everybody would smash their historic phones for it :laugh:.
On the other hand, some of the qualifying models really bring more on swappa than the price of that 16GB OnePlus One. The whole campaign has a touch of decadence that I don't like...
I think I will just keep my HTC One M7 as a backup and add the OnePlus One 64GB to my collection.

Hi guys i'm in very bad problems with Oneplus. I'm one of the storm winners and I received the mail that says that my invite will be good to use for 72hours. The problem is that i can't buy it right now, cause i don't have the money and can't find them in just 3 days! Any chance that Oneplus wull extend the validity of my invite, or send it to me later?
I would suggest just ask them per mail. I can't tell you however if they are going to extend it.
Already did, they didn't reply yet. :/

Actually good idea to give this invite to somebody rather than going waste and ask them to give invite later to you... invites u will get after buying will have more expiry...
Probably better to find someone trustworthy with lots of posts for example on this forum (a dev who wants the phone maybe) who you can give the invite to. Just make it a condition that they give you an invite back after oneplus gives them their 3 free invites eventually.

They replied and as i could imagine, invites validity isn't expandable. I decided to give the first invite to my girlfriend, then take the second one that will come. Also when i'll receive the second OnePlus i'll give the invite to one developer, in order to improve XDA

I think its very easy to "scam" someone with trading for a invite since you're giving up a tablet. And chances are if they have a extra invite, then it would be expired by the time the tablet arrived.
So neither sides would feel very secure making the trade, thats just my two cents.

Understood, I would be willing to send the tablet first and once received, the other party could send the invite. I may have too much trust but I consider most of the XDA community to be very trustworthy, in my experiences. :cyclops:

^^^ This ^^^ And XDA really is not the place for it either as there is a transaction occuring that includes item(s) of value...so I suggest it go elsewhere...

Me donate the invite? If I had one to donate I would be donating them left and right as I got them to fellow XDA'ers/OPO'ers (w/o devices ofc), although I am actually looking for one myself. In regards to trading the tablet and the insecurities someone may have, I would be happy to pack it up and send it via UPS and provide tracking information and pictures immediately or whatever the generous donator asked as I know the invites only last 3 days(?) and then 24 hours once given out. Just an idea. I was just hoping I would be able to purchase one by now so I did not become a member of the OPO community until very recently which I unfortunately assume sets me back quite a ways. Anyways, thanks for the information and I shall be on my way with my fingers crossed

I've had my OPO for about 3 weeks now and still no invites to give out. It'll be awhile.

There's people on eBay selling invites for as low as $40 that's how I got my OPO, considering what people are selling them for it was a deal. I would consider that route.

Here's the situation, I want to buy this phone for my mother so I though I'd take a look at amazon UK as they had sellers listed as OnePlus themselves but I was suspicious, after some searching I found they only sell the chinese version on amazon which I've heard has more problems
I don't know a single person who owns one so getting an invite is kinda....impossible.
Should I settle for the Chinese version or scour the internet till I can get an invite, time is important here as she needs it for work.

Look around the invite threads here and on the oneplus forums, someone will probably throw you an invite. I'd give you one if I had any
Just to expand, in my opinion it's worth trying to get an invite to buy one from oneplus as I think there's issues with your warranty if you buy from anywhere else.
