Just received an invite - some questions

I received an invite an hour or so ago but I'm not sure if I'll use it.
Is the invite for the 16GB or 64GB version? The email doesn't say.
The email contains the invite link which expires in 24 hours. Do I get one chance at clicking the link and buying or can I click it just to check it out? Again the email doesn't say.

It's for 64gb. If you click it it will get tied to your oneplus account so you won't be able to pass it to someone else if you don't want to buy it.

They must have had a surge of invites cause I got an invite today too and I never even posted anything on their site... I signed up for a username on their website quite awhile ago but it's weird they just randomly sent me one. :good:

Mine was for a 64GB sandstone backed.
If you click the link and log in it is claimed and bound to your account.
You have 24 hours to claim and pay for a One.

well probably shouldn't do this but if you're not using it may I have it?

I heard it takes about a month or so to get invites. I still have no invites to give but I also only got my invite last week.

By the looks of it the invite system depends on the period you created your OPO account, my friends account # was in 17xxx's(created in April) and he got an invite today. my account number is 53xxx(created in May) so i am guessing it might take another 1 month to get an invite.

Is trading for an invite permitted?

I know buying and selling on XDA is a no-no, but what about trades? I would be willing to trade my generation 1 Nexus 7 for an invite, and of course pass my invites along to the XDA community. :fingers-crossed:

I think its very easy to "scam" someone with trading for a invite since you're giving up a tablet. And chances are if they have a extra invite, then it would be expired by the time the tablet arrived.
So neither sides would feel very secure making the trade, thats just my two cents.

Understood, I would be willing to send the tablet first and once received, the other party could send the invite. I may have too much trust but I consider most of the XDA community to be very trustworthy, in my experiences. :cyclops:

^^^ This ^^^ And XDA really is not the place for it either as there is a transaction occuring that includes item(s) of value...so I suggest it go elsewhere...

Me donate the invite? If I had one to donate I would be donating them left and right as I got them to fellow XDA'ers/OPO'ers (w/o devices ofc), although I am actually looking for one myself. In regards to trading the tablet and the insecurities someone may have, I would be happy to pack it up and send it via UPS and provide tracking information and pictures immediately or whatever the generous donator asked as I know the invites only last 3 days(?) and then 24 hours once given out. Just an idea. I was just hoping I would be able to purchase one by now so I did not become a member of the OPO community until very recently which I unfortunately assume sets me back quite a ways. Anyways, thanks for the information and I shall be on my way with my fingers crossed

I've had my OPO for about 3 weeks now and still no invites to give out. It'll be awhile.

There's people on eBay selling invites for as low as $40 that's how I got my OPO, considering what people are selling them for it was a deal. I would consider that route.

I've had the phone for about 3-4 weeks and still have not received invites to give out to anyone.
It'll take time to get the extra invites to give out to others.

Oneplus one invites to share

Hi all my fellow doubleshot users
I received another round of invites from oneplus and have two left that will expire soon
for those unfamiliar with the device or the trouble it is to obtain one have a look here:

as you can see it has the specs to beat nearly any flagship out there yet costs a fraction of the price (even less than a nexus)
to boot it comes with a special variant of cyanogen as the stock ROM
This phone has been praised but just about every tech expert and i will say they are all correct, a fantastic phone that is worth twice as much!
the problem is getting one, you need an invite just to buy
so free of charge i have an invite for you! feel free to let me know why you want one
and note you must be ready to purchase within 24hrs from the time you claim the invite (payments are paypal only so have an account)
you all wont be disappointed, this is by far the best phone i have ever used and trust me i have used a lot!
also you must register for an account at the oneplus website

I would like an invite. My old phone is running like a champ... or it was, it is dying. I was going to hold out for a Nexus 6, but after hearing it will have a 6" screen... Well let's just say I'm not ready to take 6 inches in the pants....

How had I not heard about this phone? Ever since I got my Doubleshot, newer phones really haven't grabbed my attention because it does everything I need and none of the new offerings were really compelling.... until now.
It looks amazing.

Here's the situation, I want to buy this phone for my mother so I though I'd take a look at amazon UK as they had sellers listed as OnePlus themselves but I was suspicious, after some searching I found they only sell the chinese version on amazon which I've heard has more problems
I don't know a single person who owns one so getting an invite is kinda....impossible.
Should I settle for the Chinese version or scour the internet till I can get an invite, time is important here as she needs it for work.

Look around the invite threads here and on the oneplus forums, someone will probably throw you an invite. I'd give you one if I had any
Just to expand, in my opinion it's worth trying to get an invite to buy one from oneplus as I think there's issues with your warranty if you buy from anywhere else.
