Hi, my friend's phone is having a annoying bug which I didn't even saw something like that.
He did a factory reset in his device, but after it booted it keeps showing the low storage warning.
The user storage still 12.07GB free, just ~900MB used.
Can't install any app from play store or apk. Sometimes the apps don't open and show as not installed, sometimes af reset, camera doesn't open, first time settings wizard doesn't open, settings and google play show as not installed when try to open.
This is really stranger and annoying, how can I fix it?
And also every time when the phone boots, it erases ART cache and reloads the apps.

After flashing the xposed-arm-*.zip in custom recovery - immediately choose 'Wipe Cache / Dalvik.'

But the phone is with bootloader locked, never unlocked, no root, no Xposed or custom recovery.
When wiping cache / dalvik it still the same, and everytime the phone boots, it clears magically(?) the dalvik cache

I'm not sure if you can Wipe Cache / Dalvik in Stock Recovery - if the option exists, try that. Alternatively, Android has become corrupt, and the most obvious solution is to wipe userdata and fastboot flash the latest Factory Firmware Image.

Huh? I didn't quite understand what you were saying. Please try to be clearer.
Are you saying it was wiped while still using coloros? If you booted coloros at all after wiping, you should wipe again to clear any coloros user data out.

@Jonnyredcorn Did you restore from a backup? If so try from a new device
Why nt make a clean flash and see if it persists or not?
I had this exact same problem, and assuming that you did a dirty flash (did not erase your data), this is why it's being caused
After flashing Android L onto your device it is attempting to run the "First installation" screen but is in conflict with booting up normally as you have already completed the setup.
To confirm this = Try "unlocking and locking" your phone with the power button, you should see the install menu flash up briefly, for a second or less, if that's the case then you're in the exact same situation I was in
There was an old fix for this, but isn't very reliable now, it's worth a shot anyway
"adb shell am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity"
This will force the installation overlay on top of the black screen allowing you to "setup" your phone again despite already doing it.
If this fails then your only hope is a fresh reinstall
I don't believe I did a dirty flash. I was under the understanding if I flash the factory images it did to clean white I didn't do a clean wipe and recovery prior to booting into the bootloader and flashing the factory images. I did not restore from a backup this is my first time going from KitKat to lollipop I do not see the installation screen pop up when unlocking and locking my phone

Ah okay then,
I'd suggest attempting a reinstall
If you modify the flash-all.bat removing the "-w" command, which wipes your phone, you'll be able to retain any data currently on the phone.
But as you've said you think you've wiped over it anyway, just complete another wipe over the device and flash it again, better yet download a fresh ROM first
OK so my issue was I forgot to flash the userdata.img which caused me to dirty flash. I just redid the whole thing and it's working it's working perfectly now thanks for all your help guys

So, I've bought a Turbo-x Breeze II 7' inch tablet, which comes with Android 4.0.3. Initially it came without Play Store, so I had to install it manually. It used to work perfectly, until about 2 months ago, when any app would just get stuck on "Downloading..." and never download. Same happens for updating apps.
I wouldn't be opening an XDA thread without doing some research. So, this is what I have tried so far:
-Updating Google Play and Google Play Services to their latest versions
-Reinstalling Google Play and Google Play Services
-Downgrading Google Play to an older version
-Factory Reset & format /data, /cache
-Signing in as a different Google user
-Clearing data of Download Manager
What else is there left to do? Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. I am not using a custom recovery though, so I can't flash anything.

Maybe you can boot up a recovery image from fastboot mode like this:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
and flash the GApps flashable zip from the recovery that is booted up on your phone.

No, I can't make it boot on custom recovery, because there is no custom recovery for that device out there.
Is there any way to flash Gapps from within Android? I think that might fix it.
(I do have root access)
Here you can see how my stock recovery looks like. You think I could flash it from here?

So, I tried flashing Gapps from stock recovery, and although it said that they were flashed successfully, nothing appeared when I booted my tablet...
Any ideas guys?
i have followed all the steps using NRT to unlock boot-loader and root the phone.
Installed TWRT manager and flashed the recovery.
Now i am trying to flash CM12 for the first time and stuck with error message "can't install this package on top of incompatible data" during flashing .
downloaded the following flash zip from CM website: cm-12.1-20150901-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO237-hammerhead.zip (281.77 MB)
Can any one help me what needs to be done to proceed further.
i didnt wipe the data before. Now its working and closing the thread
I wiped everything on my phone via TWRP. Still getting this error!
This topic is old but in case someone else gets here I got a solution - Change /data partition filesystem to ext4 or other supported by ROM

This guide might help, you do it in TWRP by going to Format > Advanced > select partition > Change filesystem > Ext4

In twrp, I had to fumble around to find advance wipe to clear data but worked like charm after that.
Thank you!
xiaomi note 4g dior
Let me tell my story,
My friend gave me an old xiaomi note 4g which was stuck at the MI icon on boot,
Luckily the phone did not lock boot-loader
So I use xiaomi flash rom to flash global room , it worked after i tried sometimes.
Then I booted to the phone, and other problem came, the phone was linked with an Mi Account , and my friend forgot everything about it
not email, no phone number
I did a search and they said the only way to bypass the MiAccount is using a Resurrection ROM or balallala
so I ended up with using
1. fastboot to install twrp
2. open twrp --> open adb sideload mode.
3. Open window command line and install Resurrection ROM though adb sideload
While installing rom though adb slideload , i got the same issue with topic
SO i cleared data and tried again,
IT WORKED , NO MORE ****ING MiAccount
THANK a lot

Hi
Playing with my wife's Nexus 5, bootloader unlocked, rooted, and latest TWRP installed but when trying to flash from android 6.0.1 to Lineage, I'm getting an error 7 image shown I hope.....
Is this just because I haven't wiped the data first ? (I'm fairly sure but...)
I dont dare try 'cause if it's not that she'll kill me, so would like to be sure before I wipe all her data..
Thanks
Update, it was that I just wiped all except the SD and flashed, all is just great
When I launched the update, my Nexus rebooted, installed the update...and showed me an Android on its back with a red exclamation mark (this one, I believe).
I restarted the phone and things seemed ok...except I got the "Google play store stopped working" message (or whatever it is in English) every 10 seconds or so. So in the apps menu, I chose to uninstall the play store updates...which uninstalled the complete app!
So I reinstalled the Play store with its last apk...and I still have the same problem. The play store crashes immediately when I try to launch it.
What's the simplest way to get it to work? Ideally, I'd like to avoid a full flash.
The phone is stock (no root, locked bootloader, ...).
Boot into recovery and wipe cache. You could also try wiping the app cache from the ROM settings.
Hi,
Done that and no chance: "Google play store s'est arrĂȘtĂ©"
Not sure but you could try erasing in fastboot mode but that may require an unlocked bootloader.
I suggest backing up your data, unlocking the bootloader, and restoring your data. Note that unlocking the bootloader will reset the phone.
Erasing what in fastboot?
Erase cache in fastboot mode; however, this may require an unlocked bootloader.
If you can't fix it, I suggest backing up your data, unlocking the bootloader, and reflashing a stock ROM.

Yep. "FAILED (remote: not supported in locked device)"
But I did it from the phone with no luck.
Tried reinstalling Google Play services and Google play store (from their apks). No luck either. In my notification tray, I have a "Unknown issue with the Google play services"
There is no way to manually flash just the OTA update, while keeping all my data?
The only solution I can think of is unlocking the bootloader which will also wipe the phone. If unlocking and rebooting doesn't fix things, a completely re-flash of a stock ROM may be the only solution.
FUCK!
Pardon my french but...I am (French). And pretty disappointed now.
If I got things right, I had to:
- unlock the bootloader

- restart the phone
- go (quickly, pressing IGNORE) through the setup phase after everything was wiped
- re-enable USB debug
- flash the MMB29Q with fastboot
But I can't finish the setup (because the app stops working since my system is corrupted somehow), so I can't enable USB debug.
EDIT: I was wrong: I don't need to activate the USB debug to use fastboot.
So I'm hopefully about to get a fresh system. I'm going to install TWRP.
I'm hesitating between:
- Stock system plus the xposed framework
- Stock ROM + custom Kernel (which one?)
- Custom ROM. It would have to be Marshmallow, fast and not power hungry.
Any advice?
USB debugging is not require for fastboot, it is required to issue ADB commands.
