I've been watching the Android scene for a while now and have not bought a phone yet because the hardware hasn't met my needs. So I'm coming back to where I started tinkering with WM5 and 6.5 phones on this forum.
Can anyone recommend an Android phone that isn't the size of a brick, fits snugly in my hand.
Has
NFC
dual/quad core
Micro Sd slot
1080p video recording @ 30 fps
HDMI out
Accepts Keyboard and Mouse input either through BT or USB
Wifi N
And will run on UK 4G.
Can be or has been rooted
Does such a phone exist yet?
I'm not intrested in big screens as it makes the phone almost as big as a tablet and from a portability aspect this is not good.
I am thinking about going for an Iphone unless android can match what siri does.

I'm sorry, but you want an iPhone...for siri?? The lame voice assistant that answers questions at about a 60% accuracy rate? The one that makes you look like a douchebag that's too cool to talk to actual people, so instead you talk to your phone as if it were a person? The one that most users see on TV and go "AWWW COOL" but then they play with it for 5 minutes then get bored?
Not to mention the phone itself matches less than half the criteria you specified.
Just buy a damn iPhone and leave this forum to the adults. There are Android phones out there like the Xperia NXT line that better match what you said you wanted, but I can already tell that you'll ***** about one or two of your criteria not being there, totally ignoring that the alternative phone you're looking at matches even less..but has a gimicky voice assistant which somehow makes it all ok.
Helpful please

*sigh* Wow a one liner that I could expect from nothing more than a child.
I didn't say I was going to get an I phone I like the idea of a hands free digital assistant. I suppose you could argue that the amount of money you spend on an Iphone/contract would be best put towards a real PA But I'm not going to do that.
I can develop android apps so it would make sense to get an Android phone. But I don't just want a run of the mill phone wifi and gps handset with a terrible camera. There are very few Phones on the market at the moment that fit my hardware needs. I'm fussy because I buy a contract and am then stuck with the hardware for the duration. I could stick with my N8 as it's done me proud, I don't need another phone but if I do upgrade then I want the phone to fit my needs not something that I'm going to be disapointed with just because someone said "Oh get it, it's got this cool feature" ;and only to find that cool feature is not on my want list for a replacement phone.
I should thank you for the other info I'll look into that handset.
If there are any other Android Handsets anyone could think of that are pretty stacked then I'll take a look. Shame Nokia didn't go with Android as they would have killed the competition.
Eva!
Ok so android has got Eva. That's good. Right so Pa sorted. Just need to find thr right hardware device.
Looks to me like you want a Galaxy S3. It meets most, if not all of your wants in a phone. The only one I'm not sure about is the 1080p video recording.
Nope
S3 is way too big and flimsy, failed drop tests. It wouldn't last 2 minutes in my back pocket. At the moment I've got my eye on the HTC One X range although I have been looking at concept phones too which look very sexy and although aren't real, they could be next year or the end of this year. Might have to wait a bit longer for android hardware to meet my needs.
It's a shame that no one want's to start porting an Android build to Nokia Symbian hardware. I know it's an epic task but the bootloader is available so It's not impossible.
Nokia got bailed out by Microsoft and part of the deal obviously was going to be that Nokia use Windows as it's OS. Android dev license is still cheaper than MS.
Still looking
Went to a few phone shops to try out some of the devices. A lot of phones are getting too big to hold. If I want a tablet I'll buy a tablet I don't want a bigger screen.
The Experia P is the size of handset I'm looking for and the build quality looks ok.
I see sony are releasing the Xperia GX soon so will see if this meets the Camera/Audio expectations. At the moment Audio quality in videos are what I'm looking at. The quality of audio in Nokias N8 is still trumping Android phones. If you are being recorded instead of the one doing the recording then the mic quality isn't so good on android unless you are on top of the phone. If anyone can beg to differ then I'm open to suggestions and What's the point of a 1080p recording device without the ability to store over 16GB of video?
Still looking...
OK Found the phone.
Just one problem I doubt it's going to make it to the UK

Android doesn't really have any good voice assistant yet, i've tried all of them and they are terrible at even the simplest of commands. But, Google has said they are working on one to compete with Siri. That being said, i would go with Google's own Galaxy Nexus ($350) as they will get all the Android updates first (since its Google's phone) And the Nexus is one of the few that can actually use Google Wallet (NFC) The screen isn't too big, its comfortable in your hand, the battery life is good, and you should have no problem finding a keyboard dock for this phone. In my opinion, the best bang for your buck would be the Galaxy Nexus, and you can buy it from the Google Play Store. Best of luck!
Google has released google now which is way better than siri! And it's true that google wants to release something better that will compete beat siri

Do you have the same problems?
Every day my tablet freezes some seconds, and then starts having issues with rendering the screen. I made a video of it. Have a look here. I have it mostly when browsing the web. All of a sudden everything freezes and issues like this start to happen.
For me this is not workable anymore, so after 4 days I made the painful decision to return my Aus Tab and swapped it with an iPad 3.
The good:
I must say, all works much smoother on the iPad. Some apps do also crash, like is the case on Android, but at least the key tasks like surfing and watching videos are just a much better experience ...
The bad:
But I do miss a lot that the Infinity and Android has to offer.
I will make a new post with my comparison, but in short, I miss the luxury of the 'transforming' part of the Infinity: the keyboard integration was very good and the Swiftkey Keyboard is *much* better than the basic iOS keyboard. I really miss it a lot.
I am a Google adept, so I also miss the Google apps. Most of them exist on iOS but are much better and have more features on Android.
And most of all I hate the closed attitude of Apple that pops up in all little details the iOS has.
So, Asus, PLEASE fix the I/O and video issues ASAP. They are key to have a good user experience and without them your tablet is not good enough for me. The day these issues are solved I can ditch Apple again and will be a proud Android/Asus user again ;-)
I have not experienced the video issues you are referring to. That being said, I hope you really enjoy your iPad and never look back. Good times! (Even though you cannot tinker with it as easily, it will probably serve you well.)
I am sure the iPad will serve you well. Have fun and here's to the day that your path will cross the Androidians' again.

Thanks, but I'm not leaving Android. In fact I'm using Android a lot (on my personal phone and and at work). It will just not be on this tablet for now :-(
For the record: I would love to continue to work with this Tab, but - for me at least - the user experience is too bad compared to the iPad. Too bad as I hate Apples strategy and swear by Google's way of working. But at the end of the day Apple manages to let ther iPads work as expected. The Asus does not. That's my personal opinion.
I just try to post my remarks here because I hope other people will do the same and will push Asus to solve them asap.
@Gert: I had a similar issue once in the Gallery app on the previous firmware. Suddenly the screen started flickering when browsing images. I restarted the tablet and have not seen it happen again.
The new .22 firmware has some fixes for various flicker issues, if I recall correctly from the changelog.

I had pre ordered the TF700 until late last week..
I canceled and ordered me the Ipad 3. Absolutely love it. Smooth as silk. Does what it is supposed to do and I am even ok with I tunes, once I got comfortable with it.
I may go back to android, but I will wait and see how android develops first..
Am I the only who thinks some people are expecting too much? Maybe it is becuase my uses are so different than others?
I am not looking to control orbiting satelites with this device, nor am I wanting it to compose Adele's next number one smash. It is a tablet! Or, am I missing something. Have these devices come so far in such a short time that we want them to be full desktop or laptop replacements?
I want to: check the weather, see what the local movie times are and read some reviews, check email real quick and perhaps respond, watch a few clips of youtube on a really nice screen, have some entertainment portability when I travel, have a huge GPS in my car (that works), write reviews on Trip Advisor, read about the TomKat divorce, etc, etc. I wonder how many people who are highlighting the faults of this device actually have capable laptops at home!
I want a great screen and the latest device that might last me two, or maybe three years. I am not looking to take over the world with this device in 7 years.
Thoughts?
P.S. - I was joking about the TomKat thing.
Partly.
I'm basically on your side. I also think some people overreact on some issues like the I/O.
I watched the Prime release as I wanted that too but there was an overall bad tone from those who got it. The whole forum was basically just threads about problems or complaining, here it is two or three threads now.
With the Infinity you hear some say "oh no I/O, send it back, its crap" and others that say "it's almost smooth as butter".
But on the other hand it is marketed as a high class tablet and priced like that.
So I expect from ASUS to fix that issues. If they ignore it I will probably send it back after some time if the issue really bothers me that much.
But as I'm still waiting for mine to arrive I won't cancel it because of this now.
Okay maybe it is different in other countries that do not have warranty for 2 years, dunno.
You wouldn't have to have bought the 700 if you'd only wanted to watch the ocassional YouTube clip, LOL. As far as your usage scenario goes, yes, I believe you will have a great device that will last you several years, and possibly much longer than that.
I love the device too, but in my usage scenario (watching movie along with browsing the web for a bit, XDA among it), the I/O issue does rear its ugly head every once in a while. Granted, if actually watching the video, all is great; browsing the web, all is great; accessing the filesystem is less nice with slower responses than my SGS2, let alone when you try and transfer a large file.
And to answer your title question: no, I do not think we're expecting too much for a device of this cost (and theoretical capability). A quad-core 1GB RAM ICS tablet with 64 GB on-board memory should blow everything Android out of the water; so far, the experience hasn't been that bad at all, but I am absolutely convinced there is quite some room for improvement.
And now I think of it: all this time we are used as unpaid beta testers. I wonder why ASUS never stumbled upon the I/O issue itself; is that because they just connected seome hardware in an aluminum casing and brought it to retail, like some cynics said, or is this really so special and unforeseen that they didn't test large file transfers (for example) at all and just didn't test that particular aspect? I do have an opinion on that.
Surfing the web (visiting regular sites) and watching embedded video's in those site should work smooth. Especially with this high-end tablet.
Well, it does not go smooth. That's not a high expectation to me.
I compared it with an iPad1 and and iPad3, and even the iPad1 (>2 years old!) does the job faster and smoother ...
@Marty
Is it fair to say that if Asus expects to produce and sell 7,000,000 of these devices (I do not know what the real production number is), and 6,800,000 of those buyers do not care about I/O, multi-tasking, etc, that Asus WOULD NOT spend time, energy, and resources to make those 200,000 buyers happy?
I love these sites and forums, they are a great resource, but lets face it, people that use and post to these sites are a minority, not majority. And while I am sure producers of these tablet devices, be it Asus, Apple, Samsung, etc, do care somewhat about what is said, they have to produce what they can sell at the highest profit margin and then move onto the next device. Forget the Infinity, Asus probably its successor and its successors successor already in the works!

I don't think that this is a realistic number. You have to lower that a lot!
I don't think you're expecting too much.
Went into a local Currys and had a good look at a few tablets. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 actually looks quite nice and has an amazing screen, so does the Nexus 7 (but again, no 3G or SD card).
I hate to admit it but Apple own the tablet market.
I think I'm going to wait until we have an HD tablet with 3G before I buy one. These days I want to make sure I get the best bang for my buck.
i really do think its the best tab out. no tab comes out as the perfect model an ipad 3 is because there is only 1 of them, nothing to compare within apple. its such closed ecosystem that it runs smoothly because.... u cant do anything YOU want just what they want lol. with android its like PC, so many configuartions its hard to eliminate all bugs, but really good devs are gonna get their hands on this device and fix up a lot of things. also check out endgaget Asus released 4.1 jellybean news to hit the prime and the infinity within the next month

To be honest. I don't think they pay to much mind to us early adapters. We definitely are the minority...
I received my TF700 yesterday and I was expecting a wow from the screen but my wife screwed it up cause I been using her ipad3 for the last week while waiting for the infinity. The screen is definitely nice and it does run smooth like it suppose to. I saw an IO issue when I was downloading all my apps and sorting them out in my home screens. It was sluggish and the screen turned white twice but I was downloading 22 apps with wifi on and re organizing the home screens which is a lot (at least to me). The wifi and bluetooth are [email protected] great. Distance for bluetooth seems to be much better. Jambox works flawless. The only things I didn't like was it seems the speaker has a lower top volume. Doesn't seem to be as loud as my prime was. I do get a click from the lens when I take pictures. You can hear it in video which is annoying.

If you'd read my posts in here, you'd have seen I have stated exactly to same a few times over, my friend. In 'normal usage' scenarios, owners won't find significant faults, and they accept a hang here or there -- if you work anywhere where you cannot decide on hardware yourself, you are faced with crap hardware all the time and build up mental antibodies to stutters, lags, hangs and what-not.
Having said that, a lot of people come in here for 'other-than-normal usage' scenarios, right ? And you rightly point out that we do not have any market influence except for the direct one (representatives, who probably are depressed and suicidal by now, LOL).

Lol I'm not having too many issues with doing 'other than normal usage' scenarios actually. I downloaded multiple HD texture packs for Mario Kart 64, Starfox 64 and Super Smash Bros with little to no lag, then unzipped, copied and pasted the very large (a couple hundred megabytes) packs into their correct folders without really slowing down at all. I was impressed considering my tablet locked up several times while installing and Titanium Backup restoring apps.

I was just thinking about writing about the same topic. Sometimes I feel that people are expecting to get a full spec laptop.
Yeah the problems are there, but do they make me regret bying the TF700T? Not a bit.
Sometimes I wonder if ASUS even knows the cause of these various performance issues.
Take this scenario - you or I decide to design our own tablet: We get a bunch of investors, we go to a Chinese tech company, we sit down in a board room with their engineers - somewhere - maybe in the US - we show our blueprints of what we want the tablet to do - screen resolution - processor - ports - size - case material - all the usual stuff - any one of us here on XDA could do it - then, a representative meets with you and your investors again 3 months later with a prototype - you tell them what you like and what you don't - they disappear again for another month and return with a new prototype - you test it, it meets with your approval - you give them the go to produce 1000 of them.
We would have our own company, and produce a tablet - which we sell to the public - but we wouldn't have the slightest clue what makes it tick
And if a customer complains what do we do - we contact a chinese engineer explain the problem and maybe they solve the problem or maybe they make excuses for shoddy workmanship and move on to the next bigger contract - its not their problem to provide customer support, its yours - but you didn't make the thing so you don't have a clue how to solve the customer's problems
Again just hypothetical, but with everything being made by Chinese factories, are we even sure that ASUS knows the cause of our problems or the solutions?
Remember the day of having products made and supported in the US is over. Even the Japanese don't make and support their products anymore. Sony products are made in China!
On a side note - I do think they could have taken the time to tell the Chinese engineers to find a way to put the damn speakers on the front, or at least along the bottom and separated - after hearing the speakers on the a700 I'm having a really hard time rationalizing a premium tablet with a cheap monotone side mounted speaker..

You could contract a US engineer to do the job for you. But you still need a brand image which requires time to get into customers' heads otherwise nobody will buy it from you. Well if you don't get the message across to them then who will? Remember, in a big company there's always a chain-of-command on the production side, it's difficult to get it right the first time and they tends to pick-up their mistakes overtime.
However you'll just needing to submit a customer feedback and then wait patiently because Asus has so many products that they're busy dealing with everyday. I'd understand it from a customer's point of view such that problems within the product itself and falling out of specification etc...
For example you see the quality not class A and constantly compares it with another product in similar system, would you rather be disappointed to see it not being a perfect product?
Think about it perhaps the tablet market has just taken off!!!
So far I am very pleased ... what exactly is an "io"? Wait till this gets an aokp jb port and a custom kernel...it will smoke anything coming out for a while

You could contact a US engineer to do it for you? You mean in a US factory? There are none. Thats the point.
China IS the only remaining company
ASUS = intermediary between US customer and China
They supply cash a brand name and a list of design requriments - China does all the rest
That disconect becomes a big problem when it comes to product support and problem solving - if you didn't really make it - you are not well prepared to support it

Damnit, one of the only games I have actually bought and they do this :L
Then I'll stick with my beloved emulation from now on xD
There are more games like this, i've noticed Mini Motor Racing has an Xperia version too. I've found this out after I upgraded to Sony Xperia P and then I clicked on "Sony" in Google Play. I have no idea why they're doing this but I am not paying twice for the same game just because it says Xperia in the title. Btw I've gone back to Xperia Play after a short time with P, was rather disappointed with that one, mainly due to some of my games being incompatible.
What is thaty gold used for? Is it in-game gold, used to buy items, potions, etc. or is it some IAP gold for cosmetics?
If it's in-game then why would you even want that, it's practically a money cheat to make the game easier. Doesn't seem like a legit reason to get annoyed about.

They're doing it for users who don't own the games. In the forum where I was listing all the Xperia exclusive sales I picked up a bunch of the games since I had not owned them and thought they looked entertaining enough to buy at a discounted price.
That's the consequence of shelling out dollars too early. I bought the Xperia Edition just 10 days ago and I am very satisfied. Good thing I didn't buy the other version.

The hourglass is the space between the two analogue/touchpad controls. Give it a gentle tap and see what happens
The hourglass is the touch-sensitive area between the left and right touchpads. Tapping it cycles your map view between OFF, ROUND on UPPER RIGHT, and FULL MAP.

Basically, being able to stay with the same phone for at least next 2 years is very important for me, same goes for a good camera. Among things that iPhone does better than xperia is 240fps recording. Would it be possible to capture 240fps video with Z3 and some software modifications?:...
And to the most important part - android. I have no idea how to use it, never did. Is it easy to get used to, how many apps and stuff?...
IMO stick with whatever your environment has, IE if you have an iPad, Apple TV it'll make it heaps easier in the long run, if not there is no better time then now to consider Android but I would consider the whole environment such as an Android tablet and android TV or Chromecast.
Got Apple iPad 1, all computers running windows & linux.
I guess I should stick to android then, and also consider Z3 tablet....
That's a good call.
Z3 camera is better than iPhone
Also, android OS is just as easy to use as iOS, it just takes some time to get use to it. In the same way if I got an iPhone (I never wil BTW) but I would get used to the iOS eventually.....
David, here is how I summarise the main differences between an iPhone and a high end Android device:
An iPhone is a phone that tries to be a computer and Android is a computer that duals as a phone.
It's now 16 months since I sold my iPhone 5 and made the move to Android and all I can say is my hatred for anything iOS has just grown by the day.
I Dropboxed some videos for my friend who has an iPhone 6, as they were too big to WhatsApp and I thought it would be the easiest way to transfer them.
Wrong.
From an iPhone you can't actually save the media directly to your phone. This can easily be done on an Android phone and I realised just again how restrictive life as an iPhone owner is.
In fact this is constantly the case with iOS. You can't save most file types and you can never save them where you want to.
But doesn't this defy the very basic principle of what a computer is? A digital device that allows you to save data and access it at a later time?
In fact, the freedom offered by Android is so liberating I just can't understand why anybody would opt for an iPhone. You can save any file anywhere. You can share any file with anybody and you can move any file anywhere in the File Manager software - it really is no different to a laptop or desktop computer.
The sound quality, if music is your thing, on the Z3 is unsurpassed by any other phone on the market.
I did a test with some decent phones (Sennheiser Momentum) and played exactly the same source file on the IPhone 6 and the Z3 and the difference is nothing short of amazing.
When I first transitioned to Android on the Z1, I found it to be very intuitive and easy to understand.
Finding your way around an Android phone for the first time is no harder than finding your way around an iPhone. The only difference is that for every one option on an iPhone you have ten choices or more on an Android phone, but that doesn't make it more difficult, just more usable.
Apple has its followers in a hold around the neck where it keeps them virtually hostage in a choking dictatorship - don't allow one or two other Apple products to pull you deeper into the abyss. Break free now while you can.

I use both on a daily basis (Z3 and iPhone 6) and I'll echo a lot of what's been said here already. The first thing I'd consider is ecosystem and what you're coming from. If you had an iPhone and have bought a lot of iOS apps and still enjoy using an iPhone, get an iPhone 6. If you have an android device and enjoy it, get another one.
Generally speaking, Android is a platform that provides features and allows the user to use those features. For example, I have a file system, I have bluetooth, I can then use those pieces to transfer a file. In contrast, Apple is a platform that provides experiences. Apple pay is a perfect example, they don't tell you about the underlying technology, NFC, transaction tokenization, and a fingerprint reader, they simply want users to know they stick the phone up to something and it pays for their purchase.
Both get the job done, and between the Z3 and iPhone 6, there are a few areas where each does a bit better. Neither is a bad device.
It's just my personal opinion, but I actually believe that the iPhone is a bad device.
Android allows you to install any app that you want, download and share any file that you choose, it will allow you to escape the censorship imposed on you by Apple, you can customise your phone and if you get tired of the UI, you can refresh it with a launcher or theme, you have complete control over nearly every aspect of your phone, superior notifications, batteries that last twice as long (Z3), waterproofing, expandable storage, Google Now kicks dust in Siri's eyes and the sound quality of the Z3 driven by the two digital amp chips on board is in a different league to the iPhone 6 - especially if you start using the EQ settings and use good headphones, to me, in my personal view, there is just no contest and most Android fans, not those who necessarily use both platforms, would ever want to go back to an iPhone once they had a top end Android phone. It just does everything an iPhone does, just better.

Z3 all day every day for me, especially the camera. The iPhone camera is much quicker to snap off pics but the Z3 photos, if taken with some care, have much more detail and dynamic range. Battery is miles better on the Z3.
There's a blackjack app that's much better on iOS though... that's about it.
Go for Z3, my mom has the iPhone 6. Its got lower battery life and no stereo speakers for starters. Then the whole you can't use bluetooth for transfers and no mass storage option.
I just had a few generations of Ipod touch's. There is pretty close to a zero percent chance that I will buy Iphone. The last generation of Ipod touch would go bad in about a year. Starts with the new usb cable they use not working right. Then the headphone remote stops ffw mute etc. The real killer was sometimes it would take 15 min or so to put a simple podcast mp3 file on it because it would say updating. I still use my last touch for an alarm clock. I plugged it into the computer to charge last night. The stupid thing kept saying it was hooked up then unhooked. I am so glad not to be tied to the nonsense Apple does anymore. Sony is better but they are also full of nonsense and crippling the device. I thought by spending a $1000 to buy the z3 and everything I need with it I would be left alone. I still cant get a headphone with a volume remote/play pause. The volume is way to low for low gain podcasts. I think this is a result of Sony crippling the device. I was looking forward to getting a z4 as soon as it comes out but am thinking I will give HTC or another manufacturer that really doesn't look to cripple user experience.

I, too, switched from iPhone about 2 years ago. I wouldn't go back, and agree when you say android is basically a small computer and can do much more.
Where I disagree, is when you say "I just can't understand why anybody would opt for an iPhone." Some people actually WANT a simple, possibly more limited phone that they fully understand and for which they do not wish to spend countless hours on xda trying to make stuff work.
My parents just changed their 4S for iPhone 6s even after they have seen some of the stuff android allows me to do, and I'm glad they did. No troubleshooting ever, and if any problem happens all they have to do is call apple /take an appointment.
Much better than having to wait 6 weeks for LG to fix my screen under warranty!
Tl;dr: to each his own.

The best photos from the Z3 are clearly better than those from the iPhone, but having a very fast shutter and focus speed is EVERYTHING when you have fast moving subjects like my children. No android camera that I've tried approach the iPhone when it comes to children pics.

Yes I guess that you are right. Clearly there were 169 million such people in the last year of Apple's figures - it absolutely baffles me, but I put it down to that age old thing of not actually knowing any better.
Another reason why iPhones are so popular despite their lack of functionality, is because of the loyal following that was built up between 2007-2011 when the iPhone *was* the best or only real smart phone choice out there. If you wanted a smooth experience and a good app selection you really needed to get an iPhone - that is how I myself got sucked in for three years.
But the wheel has turned and now millions of people are caught in the Apple ecosystem and can't bear to face the upheaval so they just go with it...
That and of course the blinding light Apple emits from Cupertino that attracts it's sheep like zombie moths to a torch.
Apple somehow can polish a turd, emboss it with a half eaten apple and mindless, soulless people will queue up for two nights to buy it. For the power of their spell at least they do require a credit.
By the way I *love* Android's new advertising campaign where they make a slight dig at Apple when they say "Together. Not the same.". It's so clever.
And... My mother knows how to send an email and search on Google, but she is far from tech savvy. Well, she got a Z1 compact (coming from a basic BB) and had no trouble whatsoever adjusting.
The great thing about Android, exactly because it's customisability, is that you can have it as simple or as complex as you want it. My mum has certainly never visited XDA over an issue, she wouldn't have a clue how to.
So in its simplest form, I don't think that Android necessarily requires any more technical know how than iOS and I dont think it's any more unreliable or prone to glitches either.
Not necessarily.

True words cannot be said any clearer. It's that experience Apple had hooked people in with. Most of these people are simple-minded and want simple devices that just work. People tend to move away from Apple products when they become more curious and aware of Android's limitless flexibility.

Wow, that is some sweeping generalization you are making there bud, a super broad brush dont think?
Accusing iPhone users of being simple minded, is a very simple minded thing to do. IPhone is used by a very diverse population in all social classes and people in a wide range of IQ. I know people who are software engineers and are as curious, as you put it, as one can be and they still choose to use iPhone for one reason or another. There are CEOs, pilots, engineers, people of all sorts of different professional backgrounds and walks of life who choose to use the iPhone for whatever reason, and to make an absurd observation that most of those people are simple minded is ridiculous.

Yeah, I may have generalized it a bit. Perhaps "simple-minded" was not the correct term to use in this context.

Considering most doctors in know (nurse) use iPhone, yeah, I think so.
Doctors and nurses work with crippled people so why not a crippled phone. Apple does all it can to keep you in their little sand box. Now other company's have hardware that is as good or better so bye bye Apple.
