I have bought the Zz and tryed to get sms from my old Xperia SP: And just cannot make it work. It makes no difference wheather I use PIN in NFC, the result is the same.
So where do I go wrong:
XPERIA SP:
I downloaded an installed the app from Google play. The firmware on SP in the stock 4.3 Android. The only option that this phone gives me in of sending data wirelessly to another device. So just what I need. I click to the screen where it want to know whether I want to use PIN of NFC.
XPERIA Z5
I launch the "app" from the settings and click that the other device in an Xperia (or android, it makes no difference, the result is the same). I click that I want to receive data wirelessly from the other device i get to the screen where I have to choose PIN of NFC.
Let's say I go with PIN. Xperia Z5 offers me a PIN code and I enter it in Xperia SP. When connection is made, Xperia Z5 asks me to "accept" the other device (don't know what the proper word is, I do not use English on any of my devices). I accept of course. The xperia SP informs me that that is all I have to do on this device and that I should choose what I want to sync from he list on the other device. And that is the problem. Xperia Z5 never loads the list. I cannot select anything, it is just loading with the red circle going around endlesly. I left it for over 20 minutes ones, just to make sure I am not to impatient but to no avail. It's the same with NFC.
What am I doing wrong?
I had the same problem when I transferred data from my Z2.
The thing is, 20 minutes is not enough time. The process is very slow. I don't know how long it took for me. I just started the process before I went to bed and when I woke up, I had a list of applications I could transfer.
So just give it time.
Good luck
O dear, I didn't think, it would take that much time. I will give it another try.
I haven't tried those but i use the cloud which is extremely stable. Try uploading it to the cloud from your old phone and then download it from your new phone
I noticed in these screenshots that the cell signal is generally poor (yellow and red). It drains A LOT of battery when the phone has to compensate for the poor signal. Might be due to the phone/antenna though.

Hello,
I apologize in advance for the translation, I have a problem with my Sonny Ericson Xperia X8. Phone calls to me alone after 10-15 seconds will automatically terminate. SMS messages do not want to send, sometimes it goes for about 6 attempts. But even after the phone to original settings using Sonny Ericsson PC Companion, the phone will behave similarly. When the phone re-install the new ROM, if everything works right after leaving the CWM take out the memory card. When she put me immediately it begins to terminate calls. After taking out the memory card will not change even after rebooting the phone and even after WIPE. Probably the error somewhere else than in the SOFTWARE phone, I have to record a new KERNEL prove them and so I would not recognize the claim.
You do not have a compatible KERNEL someone please?
If so can you please upload somewhere? (including the loader please)
Thank you in advance thank you.
I've been searching for a thread in wich this was allready posted, but I couldn't find one, anyways... as the title suggest I bought a SE Wt19i unlocked it's only 1 day old and it keeps reseting at random intervals, somewhere like 20 resets every 5 hours, I've done a factory reset, I've done a format SD card, I've searched the topic on official sony ericsson site and alot of people have this issue and sony suggested we take the device back to the shop and ask for a replace, well gj sony but a problem that occurs on more than 1000 devices is no coincidence.
If any of you found a resolve I would appriciate it if you would share it with us SE Wt19i loosers .... btw I did 3 factory resets, and I updated the phone
Carrier : unlocked
Having the same problem here. Nothing seems to help. I even reinstalled the phone software and it still restarts around 10 times every hour.
it stopped reseting as soon as I pluged in it's original card with 2Gb, now it's not really a walkman... with ony 2 Gb or music , so the issue may be the speed class of the card.
I'm using the SE provided MicroSd and I still have the problem. The only workaround I found for this problem is to switch on Tethering. Your battery will drain fast, but at least it doesn't have random reboots.
This one is actually new to me. I spend many hours each day in the official Sony Ericsson Support Forum and I have not seen this before.
If the only way to get the phone working again is to turn on tethering something's clearly wrong.
If you already have updated or repaired the software with PC Companion I suggest you try to start the phone in safe mode just to rule out the possibility of a 3rd party app/service causing this. Press and hold the Menu button during start up to get it in safe mode. This will bypass all 3rd party stuff. If the reboots still occur after this you might want to consider sending the phone to a service center.
I should also add that we're soon going to start a roll out of a new software (planned for week 2). This is meant to improve the memory handling to avoid reboots. Not sure your problem is related to this though but it could be an idea to wait for this to see if it solves the problem.
Check with the local support teams to get info on the service locations.

Hello Markus,
How can this be new to you when this is the exact same problem mentioned in the Neo V reboot problem thread in the Sony Ericsson Support Forum that you regularly reply to? In fact, I got the solution of preventing restarts by using tethering from another of the Neo Reboot threads in SE Support forum.
I've tried everything, running in safe mode, re-installing the software, repairing, uninstalling the uninstallable pre loaded apps. Nothing works.
The fixes that do work drain the battery in like 4-5 hours. But, this is a better option than having random reboots every 5 minutes.
I've found that having the walkman player always on and playing in zero volume seems to stop the reboots. Also, using an application that always keeps the display on also seems to solve the problem. Both these methods use battery too much and the phone heats up. I only hope that the update you're going to release on the 2nd week of January fixes this problem or you'll see a mass of SE Xperia handsets returning to Sony Ericsson.
I don't know why everyone says this, but this is not an uncommon problem. 2 of my friends have the same problem and both use different Xperia models. The problem is so common that searching for 'Xperia Reboot' or 'Xperia Restart' on google gives a ton of results pointing to discussion threads such as this.

The update does not help WT19i stop reboot.
(4.0.2.A.0.58)
What else can I do?
@darklift,
I have of course seen the issue or reboots since I've been quite active and keep track of that thread in our own forum. I can however not recall the tethering option to be a working solution. Fully possible someone have said it before but I can't remember that.
@thuhue,
That's a different update.
The software version we release to fix the reboots with is called 4.0.2.A.0.6x.
The global roll out will start next week.
Hey man, where did you get it unlocked from?
From w w w.telefonultau. eu
Hi all,
I will be eternally grateful for your help but I am not holding much hope.
I got this new phone from my operator Three in the UK back in January this year.
All works ok except for the screen calibration which I did not get round to fix.
On Monday I decided to put a pin lock on my phone, as I haven't been using
the pin lock for a few years now. I chose the pin code, then I stupidly tried
"Lock Sim". Then the screen came up with sim locked, PUK needed.
I did not make even one attempt with the PUK code as I decided to phone
my operator for it. We went through the procedure, he gave me the PUK
code and we managed to unlock the sim card and then I remember the
pin code (as I always have) and inputted it and the phone is unpinned.
I need to mention that we did have one or two bad attempts where
I couldn't hear the technical guy too well and I did enter the wrong pin
once or twice, but less than the 3 attempts limit and we did have to
take the battery out 3-4 times due to this and also because
I kept putting the sim card the wrong way round being very careless.
The sim is unlocked but on the screen it is "no service" emergency
calls only, where if you choose the emergency option green button
it will give you a menu and * # . I can see some symbols on the top
such as wifi connected. If I call this mobile phone I can pick up
the call, the screen has the usual answer or reject phone symbol on.
But during and after the call pressing the home/back/menu button
on the phone (off the screen ) have no effect. I told the technical
guy about this. He suggested a new sim but if I put my old sim
in my other three pre-smartphones phones it works. However
this phone is tied to this sim card/phone number only as I try
my other sims on it and they do not work.
I have tried a few things:
the 7378423 thing with all the right *#, doesn't work. but 06 works to get IMEI
cannot enter fastboot mode holding down the volume up button and plugging
USB in, but can enter flash mode.
I do not want to lose data as I have some important data which I haven't
backup to my sin so I don't want to use PCC or SUS to install either
the current OS (I think it is ICE cream 4.04 ish) or the new jelly bean.
To complicate matters my phone is not USB debugged enabled so I
cannot use software to do a quick backup of my phone I tried
mobile me from wonderware(?) and its needs usb debugging.
PC companion doesn't have restore and backup anymore, or at least
not for xperia J as the Sony support guy told me, if it does it probably
needs debugging enabled.
Talked to Sony support, he said the only way is to use PCC to reinstall
software and I will lose data as expected. I asked him if Experia J
and the newer Xperia phones have disabled the 7378432 service
code and if there is a new one which he can tell me. He says there
are no new codes.
The phone is not totally now working, I managed to get into "safe mode".
I wonder if the phone actually is rooted or has bootloader unlocked I
read if that is the case it may explain why the 7378432 does not work
as it only works on sony stock rom. But then I came across other people
whose phones may not be bootloader unlocked and this code does not work.
I also came across people who cannot get into fastboot mode.
Maybe because my batch of xperia J, together with customisation by
my phone operator has disabled 7378432 and fastboot which I don't thin
so as Sony themselves mentioned the use of these two important
elements in their unofficial but be warned section on unlocking the
bootloader. I wonder when I took out the battery a few times when
I spoke to the technical guy my phone is locked due to security but
as I said before the PUK code was entered correctly first time round
if not second time round, so is the pin, We just took the battery out
and retried about 2 times as my sim was in the wrong way round.
Finally my apologies for the long post, the phone still has my wallpaper
on it and the error message I used to get from an app (telling me the
app is not working) when I turned on the phone. If the phone was
flashed/rooted then it was not done by me, it might have been done
by a previous owner and then returned to the operator within 14 days
and then my supposedly new phone is this rooted phone. Without
usb debugging enabled its hard to go into recovery mode via
usb link/flashrom/boot etc? But if we know which rom we can
try to go into recovery mode without a usb link by pressing a few buttons?
At the end if I have enough money which I don't sadly someone at sony
can probably take the phone out and do some high level fixing, as long
as the memory is still in tact which I hope it is. For some reason the
phone is locked in this emergency calls only mode. I have not made
any attempts to root it etc before Monday and no attempts to root it.
I just thought the 7378432 can "unlock" a phone lock like the much
discussed xperia Z - if the phone is on a pin/pattern lock etc.
My attempt to go into fastboot mode is to hope that by getting in
and getting out of it the phone will reverse back to normal. My situation
is mainly complicated by that I really want not to lose the data, sms
particularly when we try to unlock/unfreeze the phone.
Extremely sorry for the long post, if anyone can help I will be
most most grateful, bye for now.
I need a big help from everyone here. Kindly assist me.

If it's a pin (in the sim card), I'm afraid I can't help you out. If it's a password you have on the device, just do the following:
Tap on "emergency call" and type*#*#7378723#*#*, so the service menu will come up. Note you may have to do it 4-5 times to come up, so be patient.
When the service menu finally comes up, go to "customization settings" and then tap "reset customization". Tap "yes" if it asks you for it, and the phone will reboot. After that, your personal settings (e.g. theme, wallpaper), as well as your password will be back to factory default settings (so passwords will be wiped). ALL your personal data (e.g. music, images, videos) will remain, as well as your contacts and similar stuff. Have fun.

This did not work, currently I do not have SIM card. Is it required to put the SIM card.
Secondly I see some blogs that this code will work with android jellybean and mine I have not upgraded, so it could be icecream sandwich

I've tried it on an i.c.s. powered xperia u and it worked properly. So if it does require to put a sim card and what I told you doesn't work it must be a sim lock. I recommend you to turn on the device, connect it to your computer and get everything you have in your phone to the computer. Then give your xperia j a flash via flashtool only (pc companion will upgrade your device to jelly bean with all locks remained, so you need a clean flash of a generic firmware).

Do you have a custom recovery (like CWM or TWRP)?
If you do, then I can help you unlock your device.

That's okay. No problem..
I'll guide you step-by-step from here.
First of all, you will need to unlock your boot loader
Go to the below link and start unlocking

Report once done, I'll help you further
hello mobile guru,
I have one question if it is possible. I have an old mobile sony ericsson w660i, which I did not use like 5 years.
I think I have some photos (from my baby kid) I want them to send on my PC.
But of course I forgot my password. When I turn on mobile without sim, it says Insert Sim,
when I turn on with Sim, it says Phone lock:
I have no idea which code was.
And the battery is of course old and it runs like 15 minute and then I have to charge again.
Is it possible to unlock phone, so that I do not loose my data on the phone.
I would be very thankful if somebody could help me.
