[Completed] The keys of my i9505 don't work after boot - XDA Assist

I have a galaxy s4 i9505, I can power it on, open the custom recovery with the combination of vol+ home and power, so all the keys phisically work.
When i enter the recovery or the OS (stock KK 4.4.4)(I' ve already tried to change recovery or OS) the keys don't work. None of them.
Stupid telephone.
What component/piece of memory control these?
It's better a soft solution, but if it is necessary, I can also change a component.
Thanks

Hi,
Try flashing a stock ROM from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
to see if the problem persists
Good luck!

Great to know that. but how?
Pls tell me the exact sequence you employed.
I am pressing first Vol UP and then Home button
and while keeping these pressed I am pressing
power button. Samsung model number is flashed
for few seconds and then screen goes blank and
remains blank unless I release the power button.
Once I release the power button the phone boots
normally. Pls help.
You need to press and hold the home button LIGHTLY and just press the power button. DO NOT HOLD the power button just press it.
Good work. Thanks
hi
if i root with this method, and then hard reset my device then will i have to root it again or it will remain rooted after hard reset.
is there any method of unrooting?
explain me some details of the risk involved in rooting, i have purchased the phone last week and dont want to loose it so early. can i brick my phone while rooting?
is it possible to fix the bricked phone?
thank you in advance, and sorry to ask too many questions, but i am new to android.
i have flashed many symbian phones with CFW but in symbian i can always restore original FW if the CFW didnt work or something went wrong. I am learning android please help me...
If you follow any instruction to the letter, there won't be a chance of bricking
You can unroot any time by flashin a stock ROM.

You need to press the home key LIGHTLY. Pressing too hard will press the adjacent key/s. I had the same issue, but once I learnt to press the home key lightly it works consistently all the time.
off topic: do you guys have problem when holding the touch on this device?(like when you have to change a icon position on the launcher)
@abbas
You said in your first post "I modified this update.zip file for Galaxy y pro ...". Could you please give me a link or post the original update zip for the Galaxy y pro (not your modified one for the duos), please?
thanks in advance
thanx a ton Abbas, tried all possible methods till i read ur advise and it worked in one strike, appreciate it.
Thank you once again.
For the benefit of other members who are trying a factory reset if you have forgotten the password, once you get into the recevoery mode you will be prompted for a password again. Do not worry, enter incorrect password 3-4 times before you get a warning for a factory reset by the system, click on yes and you are back to your new phone (of course if you do not have your data backed up, it will be lost) Also, please ensure to remove your sd card before the factory reset to avoid loss of data.
Hope this helps all.

Usually unroot tools leaves some foot print on device. So above said method is best n safest.

[Q] CWM Don't start

PRE: In the past I've rooted and installed Galaxy S, Galaxy S2, HTC Desire HD without any problem, that's for tell you I'm not a totally "newbie".
I've a really strange problem!
I try to explain me with my litte english.
In the past I have installed in my i9103 android 2.3.6 by Odin 3.07.
All OK but...
After I've try to install CWM because I want do the root.
I've flashed CWM by ODIN.
Flash all "OK"
But when I try the combo button "Vol+ Home Power" NOTHING HAPPEND! The screen stay all "BLACK" and the phone don't "turn on"
Ok I've think... it's not a problem, I stay without root.
Yesterday I've installed ICS Official Firmware (Android 4.0.4 I9103XWLP8)
Flashed by Odin 3.07, ALL OK.
After I've try again to flash the CWMv4.0.0.2_ODIN.tar
Flashed by Odin 3.07... ALL OK, ALL GREEN, the phone boot normally...
OK I try the combination Vol+ Home Power and... nothing happend.
The Screen still all black and the phone don't start.
For restart the phone I need to remove battery.
I do flash it again by Odin of CWM... And the problem persist.
The phone it's work perfectly, but don't boot in recovery.
I can boot in Download.
There is a way to root my phone by odin?
Because I've try to search [Kernel] ardatdat kernel v1.5 [CWM] flashable by Odin, but I don't find it!
Please Help me!!!
I really don't understand.
Welcome to the community!
First, don't flash kernel with Odin. It increases the binary counter.
Can you bootv normally into Android? Did you try any other CWM version (6.0.1.1 or Epsylon3's one)?
If Odin flashing really doesn't work, try Heimdall.
If none of these work, try some exploit-based rooting method (will post them if needed).
Try these and report.

you are able to boot into download mode and not in recovery!
i guess the combination of keys you are using is incorrect or you are doing it wrong way
first press power button, when 'Samsung Galaxy R i9103' screen splashes leave the power button and press home+vol up key simultaneously!
try and revert..

[Q] Samsung Trend S7560 Boot loop

Hello there,
I'm posting here because I didn't find a Samsung Trend S7560 topic.
I broke my screen and ordered a new one a changed it.
Since I changed it the phone turns on, display 'Samsung Trend S7560' on screen and reboot.
I can access the Donwload mode with 'Vol down + Home + Power' Then I tried to install a recovery and I manage to enter recovery.
But when I go to 'mount and storage' I can mount no sdcard neither emmc.
I tried to push back with Odin a stock firmware from Sammobile but I'm steel stucked with the same bootloop.
Any help ?
Take it to the warranty or something.

Phisical buttons

Hi.
My phisical button doesn't work today.
I tried a reset on factory setting without success.
Any ideas?
Inviato dal mio SM-G935F utilizzando Tapatalk
what happens if you go to factory - panel settings:
short press (example home button -> home button should be marked in settings.
does this work?
if not: it seems you have a wrong MCU-Firmware or a broken MCU.
best way: contact your manufacter via mail and ask for the current dmcu.img
flash this trough recovery.
if you have KGL 1.xx (about device info) then i can send you the latest for erisin devices.

1 if i go into factory setting and i try to set button It doesn't see them. I push but doesn't see them
2 i contact erisin and they suggest to open and see cable. I tried that and i think is ok. Now they want 40$ to send me a button panel but if is It not the problem?
3 the button don't work in recovery. I try to update mcu from update setting in android, It restars in recovery and flash mcu but i see a message It doesn't flash the dmcu.cfg.
4 my unit is erisin es4700f mtcd kgl for rk3188.
5 without phisical buttons is impossible to work in recovery

puuuh, thats difficult.
you have to find a way how to update dmcu.img trough recovery menu. i have no idea how you can handle this without the buttons, sorry.
ahh one more thing:
format sd-card fat32 (with windows)
copy any dupdate.img (like malysk or stock img) AND dmcu.img
insert SD-card to GPS-Slot. (next step, im not 100% sure how the combination was, but try this
Press and hold Reset-Button/Hole for about 30 seconds. the radio should start immediatly with firmware update.
if not, you have to finde the correct key combination for your unit.

thats the tutorial for updating directly without any keys

Hello
I have the same problem with buttons. Did you manage to fix it? Is the recovery mode connected to the usb keypad? (Enter instead of power button)
Jack
I can enter in recovery because i have root and i can restart in this mode. But in recovery i can switch the option because the buttons don't work.
However i sure the problem is not mcu.
It is hardware problem.
