Great to know that. but how?
Pls tell me the exact sequence you employed.
I am pressing first Vol UP and then Home button
and while keeping these pressed I am pressing
power button. Samsung model number is flashed
for few seconds and then screen goes blank and
remains blank unless I release the power button.
Once I release the power button the phone boots
normally. Pls help.

You need to press and hold the home button LIGHTLY and just press the power button. DO NOT HOLD the power button just press it.

Good work. Thanks

hi
if i root with this method, and then hard reset my device then will i have to root it again or it will remain rooted after hard reset.
is there any method of unrooting?
explain me some details of the risk involved in rooting, i have purchased the phone last week and dont want to loose it so early. can i brick my phone while rooting?
is it possible to fix the bricked phone?
thank you in advance, and sorry to ask too many questions, but i am new to android.
i have flashed many symbian phones with CFW but in symbian i can always restore original FW if the CFW didnt work or something went wrong. I am learning android please help me...

If you follow any instruction to the letter, there won't be a chance of bricking
You can unroot any time by flashin a stock ROM.

Press and hold volume up and home button and then press (don't hold!) power.

I think corrupt recovery, already tried 2 n 3key combination, nothing works

You need to press the home key LIGHTLY. Pressing too hard will press the adjacent key/s. I had the same issue, but once I learnt to press the home key lightly it works consistently all the time.

off topic: do you guys have problem when holding the touch on this device?(like when you have to change a icon position on the launcher)

@abbas
You said in your first post "I modified this update.zip file for Galaxy y pro ...". Could you please give me a link or post the original update zip for the Galaxy y pro (not your modified one for the duos), please?
thanks in advance

thanx a ton Abbas, tried all possible methods till i read ur advise and it worked in one strike, appreciate it.
Thank you once again.
For the benefit of other members who are trying a factory reset if you have forgotten the password, once you get into the recevoery mode you will be prompted for a password again. Do not worry, enter incorrect password 3-4 times before you get a warning for a factory reset by the system, click on yes and you are back to your new phone (of course if you do not have your data backed up, it will be lost) Also, please ensure to remove your sd card before the factory reset to avoid loss of data.
Hope this helps all.

thanks for the root package, rep+

Flash any stock rom with pc Odin, wil make totally stock rom.
Usually unroot tools leaves some foot print on device. So above said method is best n safest.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Ace not coming up

Hi everyone,
I've got a BIG problem
I have a Galaxy Ace. A friend of mine played with it and Since then the phone is kinda dead
When I press the On/Off button, a series of vertical color bars appear on the screen (filling 2/3 of screen) [See attached]
Screen reduces the brightness in 5 secs
Then nothing happens and phone does not respond to any key combination
When I combine volume down with power buttons, the same thing happens although this time the phone camera flashes once!
Using the Volume up button gives me two flashes!
By the way, Odin recognize the phone on a COM port, but I don't know what I can do with that?
I also tried ADB REBOOT RECOVERY command in Android SDK as recommended by someone in here. It says DEVICE NOT FOUND
Does anyone have any idea how can I restore the phone to a normal state?
Appreciate your help

any Ideas? I'm very worried about the phone
Try holding homescreenbutton and on key. Recovery menu should turn up. Then perform a hard reset
I just bricked my ace today and there was no way I was able to fix it, the closest I got was getting the device into a 'connecting' state in the samsung kies software but didn't got any further, no screen no nothing..
Eventually I went back to the store and they replaced it without asking too many questions, I told them it died while doing a factory reset.

Yes looks like the ACE still got problems, my friend's ACE also hangs alot.
My problem is that I can't see anything on the scree (see pic above) I dpn't know what state the handset is in!!!
Any one has a link to a recent firmware for ACE that works?
Weird, don't know if the resistor trick that works on the Galaxy S could also apply on this model ?

Rom manager? If so your phone is dead. Do you honestly think selecting software meant for another device will work? Rom manager does not support the galaxy ace, yet. You've now ruined the partitions and so far noone has managed to get a successful unbrick. Make up a bull**** story and hope you get the phone fixed in warranty. Tata.

Don't know, but see no reason why not. Same hardware except for the cell radio. I think when I installed ROM Manager, I selected the Samsung GalaxyS2 as the "phone" manager for CWM recovery (4.0.1.5). I've had no problems with it yet.

This isn't working for me. When I press power and volume down buttons I get a screen that says:
Warning!! A custom OS can cause critical problems in tablet and installed applications. If you want to download a custon OS, press the volume up key. Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel
If I continue to hold down the volume down key as the instructions to root says to do then nothing happens, the tablet does not go into recovery. If I let go of the button then re-press it the tablet just restarts.
My model number ias P6210 by the way if that matters.
Edit:
The way to get into recovery is to hold down the power and volume up buttons (not the volume down button as in the OP's instructions). I was able to get into recovery and install the root.zip file from the sdcard and then installed superuser and busybox from the market and I'm rooted. Confirmed using root explorer.
does this method work on the t-mobile SGH-T869 model? I cant get into recovery mode when pressing volume down+power button.

Thanks OP.
Worked like a charm. The perfect thread for people who just flashed over 4.1.1 JellyBean and want to root.
Hi,
I'm relatively new to rooting and I dont know what to do but the steps and videos that I found on google seems simple enough. I just want to know if this will work on any S3 JB 4.1.1 regardless of the firmware version. My "baseband version" is I9300UBDLI2. I have seen the links that I found on google specifying the root will work on a specific version of 4.1.1 (i.e. 4.1.1 XXDLIH Official Firmware). I just want to make sure so that I wont damage my phone in any way.
hi kicker this is a complete safe way to root your phone i also have galaxy S3 4.1.1 on three uk network.....this rooting works on every baseband but the phone must have jellybean and works only on galaxy S3 Gt-19300 try this method it is totally safe and i am 100% sure this will not damage your phone
TRY IT
Thanks for the reassurance. Im using native jellybean 4.1.1. One last thing, does triagle away still work with 4.1.1?

[Q] CWM Don't start

PRE: In the past I've rooted and installed Galaxy S, Galaxy S2, HTC Desire HD without any problem, that's for tell you I'm not a totally "newbie".
I've a really strange problem!
I try to explain me with my litte english.
In the past I have installed in my i9103 android 2.3.6 by Odin 3.07.
All OK but...
After I've try to install CWM because I want do the root.
I've flashed CWM by ODIN.
Flash all "OK"
But when I try the combo button "Vol+ Home Power" NOTHING HAPPEND! The screen stay all "BLACK" and the phone don't "turn on"
Ok I've think... it's not a problem, I stay without root.
Yesterday I've installed ICS Official Firmware (Android 4.0.4 I9103XWLP8)
Flashed by Odin 3.07, ALL OK.
After I've try again to flash the CWMv4.0.0.2_ODIN.tar
Flashed by Odin 3.07... ALL OK, ALL GREEN, the phone boot normally...
OK I try the combination Vol+ Home Power and... nothing happend.
The Screen still all black and the phone don't start.
For restart the phone I need to remove battery.
I do flash it again by Odin of CWM... And the problem persist.
The phone it's work perfectly, but don't boot in recovery.
I can boot in Download.
There is a way to root my phone by odin?
Because I've try to search [Kernel] ardatdat kernel v1.5 [CWM] flashable by Odin, but I don't find it!
Please Help me!!!
I really don't understand.
Welcome to the community!
First, don't flash kernel with Odin. It increases the binary counter.
Can you bootv normally into Android? Did you try any other CWM version (6.0.1.1 or Epsylon3's one)?
If Odin flashing really doesn't work, try Heimdall.
If none of these work, try some exploit-based rooting method (will post them if needed).
Try these and report.

i guess the combination of keys you are using is incorrect or you are doing it wrong way
first press power button, when 'Samsung Galaxy R i9103' screen splashes leave the power button and press home+vol up key simultaneously!
try and revert..
