It cost me four hours sleep this evening and early this morning but here is what a few of us trying to save a few bucks using Straight Talk (Verizon Wireless) versus branded Verizon Wirless mobile data; if your device is rooted, unlocked, custom flashed, this will work; it too will work with internet sharing.

[Q] Nexus 5 No LTE - AT&T

Got my new Nexus 5 (NYC) today and went to the AT&T store to get a new SIM card. Installed and recognized the network properly and got service right away. But only getting HSPA+.

Just visit your ATT store or call them. I was stuck with H for a day until they had to create a service request for a higher tech person to fix it.
Make sure they prevision your plan to "4G LTE". It can be taken care of over the phone.
I have the same issue, however I'm on a dealer line so I can't have customer service change it, I have to have my rep do it and he is having trouble figuring it out, and so my at&t rep says that he thinks its because I didn't have an LTE phone prior to this (nexus 4) so he is gonna try to change my imei to his G2 he doesn't use

will be calling to check what AT&T says. My last 2 phones were LTE so I definitely had it.

Ah ok then make sure they provision your imei to work! Make sure to talk to a tier 2 representative if the first person doesn't do it or something

I remember reading in another thread that the IMEIs on the n5 don't register as an lte capable phone in AT&Ts system. You may need to obtain one from a phone that is confirmed to work on their LTE, or have CS generate one for you by telling them you can't find yours. Wish I could find the thread, but they get buried so fast around here.
Keep in mind that this info was from a few days ago so it could just be that AT&T wasn't prepared for the launch...they may have already fixed the problem.

If you put in a sim card from a HSPA only phone before switching to LTE or a new sim then you may need to do a factory reset. That was the only solution that worked to get me on LTE as I was also stuck on HSPA. Could be worth a shot if you don't figure it out.
Yeah just had to call at&t to have them re-switch on my LTE. When I was using an old iPhone 3gs they "turn it off". Thanks for all the support!

[Q] D6603 T-Mobile LTE extremely slow?

I swapped from the D6616 Z3 to the D6603 Z3 because I didn't want to be locked into T-Mobile just incase my family and I end up swapping to AT&T early next year. The issue I'm running into is, I inserted the nano-sim and messaging/calls work on the D6603, but data didn't. I looked all over and did the following:
Settings->"more" (under the wireless/network) -> internet settings and connected to TMobile. The APN appears "T-Mobile Data" now. Internet connects, woohoo!
The issue I'm running into is, the LTE appears, and it is now connected to the internet, but it EXTREMELY slow. Speed test shows .15-.20 MBPS whereas before I was getting 8-9 in the exact same spot. I swapped the sim back to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and I'm getting faster speeds on "HSPA".
Any ideas or a different way to connect the D6603 model to T-mobile's data?
What is the APN?
Should be fast.t-mobile. com

APN is fast.t-mobile.com; I believe the D6603 has bloatware for German(?) T-mobile. Could that be it?

I'm using the D6603 on AT&T, and LTE is quick. I think each of those phones have different bands. The D6616 is the T-Mobile model and the 6603 has AT&T bands. I think a lot of the LTE bands overlap though... Maybe LTE is slow in your area? Does your service show up as LTE at the top by the signal?
Also, go to your quick settings menu in the notification pulldown menu. There should be a box for "LTE". Tap and hold it and click on network settings. You can change the preferred network mode and see if the HSPA is faster

Try to set the "APN protocol:" to IPv4/ IPv6 instead of just IPv6. See if it will be any better.
Did what both of your advices. First, I switched it to HSPA, speed test hit 5-6mbps. Re-connected to LTE afterwards and it hit 10-12mbps. Loads webpages just fine, and was able to play games.
Then went and swapped the IPv6 to IPv4/6 and I clocked 16mbps twice.
Not sure what else happened or what caused it to work randomly after going from LTE->HSPA->LTE, but it worked.
Went and installed the nillkin screen protectors as well, and I must say, it is a great upgrade from my old samsung galaxy nexus. Thank you for the help guys!

Unlocked Galaxy s8+ (G955U) getting extremely slow LTE speeds on Cricket -

Backstory: I purchased this phone from Samsung because of the trade-in promotion they were running. I traded in my AT&T Note 5 (N920A) where I had great LTE coverage in most places around where I work/live, unless I was in an area of a building that restricted reception. Before the N920A I had the international Note 5 (N920I) and it worked great on LTE as well.
I live in a suburb of Nashville, and the Cricket coverage map shows great LTE coverage where I work and live (I live less than a mile from where I work) but I'm getting less than .5mbit down/up around this areaeven though my phone shows that I have 4 bars LTE. With that said, there are other areas around town where my LTE is just fine and I get the advertised 8mbit download speeds that Cricket offers.
Are we sure that this unlocked version of the S8+ has all of the LTE bands enabled with its stock firmware? Apparently is has all of the bands, but do I need to flash to the AT&T firmware in order for them to be activated?
Edit: XDA won't let me post outside links to show screenshots of APN so I'll post below.

Unlocked Sprint Note 5 on Cricket (AT&T) No LTe 3G only

I have an unlocked Sprint Note 5 on cricket which is AT&T. Everything is working but I am unable to get 4G to connect. Is there any fix for this? I am currently rooted and running the MOAR Nougatized QC5 ROM. Thanks for the help.
1. Make sure you set APN for carrier you are on (below is ATT. Not sure about Crickett)

APN phone

APN protocol IPv4
Bearer Unspecified
2. Call carrier and have them add your IMEI to system.

EDIT: I am an idiot, it's an APN problem. Would still appreciate help.

OKAY. So. The problem, in fact, had nothing to do with SIMlocking. It was trying to use a preinstalled T-mobile APN instead of the Ting APN.
One might think this would be the end of the problems, but it was not. I went in and manually selected the Ting APN. At this point I'm getting a normal LTE data indicator, and mobile data and SMS work, but phone calls still aren't. There are two separate Ting APNs, one for data and one for MMS. The one for MMS looked correct, but the one for data was missing information. Ting was supposed to send an automatic update to the phone to fix this, but although I was sent the message saying that they were sending it, it was not actually sent. So I went in to manually edit the APN according to these instructions:
APN settings for an X1 SIM cardNameTing DataAPNwholesaleMMSC
http://wholesale.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
APN type*default,admin,fota,mms,supl,hipri,internet,dunMCC310MNC260APN protocolIPv4 / IPv6APN roaming protocolIPv4 / IPv6
Except I can't edit the Ting data profile. I can edit the SMS profile (though I don't want to, because it's not broken), and I can create a new profile, but I can't edit this one. So I think, okay, I'll make a new one and switch to that one. When I try to save it, it says my carrier doesn't allow profiles with the dun type, which is odd given it's in the default but I don't see why I'd actually need dial-up networking anyway, so I take that one out and save. It saves. I switch to that one. It switches.
I still cannot make calls.
Does anyone know why editing the data APN profile is locked, and how I can unlock it? Has anyone else had issues getting their carrier recognized by the new 19.1 LineageOS? What can I do to try to fix this? As much as I love the idea of never getting an actual phone call again, they are occasionally necessary.

ORIGINAL TITLE AND POST:
H830 relocking (? maybe something else?) sim when LineageOS 19.1 is installed. Is there a fix?
I know there are already a million threads about trying to unlock H830s without access to the official app/with an ineligible phone/with a bad IMEI, etc. I have access to the official app and my IMEI clears just fine with my phone service provider. I'm... not hopeful, but given it is a different situation I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Bought a phone sold as unlocked, then went through a convoluted process mostly following this guide (see my notes at the end) to get the bootloader unlocked and get Lineage 19.1 on there. At the stage with 15.1 unofficial lineage, it recognized my Ting sim card but seemed a little buggy, with fluctuating, mostly poor signal (as, honestly, one might expect from an early unofficial build). I didn't stay there long enough to investigate much further, but will do so later. At the stage with 19.1, it was locked to T-mobile again, though it also seemed to think my sim card was a T-mobile card, and allowed MMS but not calls. Knocked it back to stock 20A and used the app to "permanently" unlock it, which went without a hitch. Repeated the process, same result.
Is there any way to get this phone properly unlocked?
EDIT: The more I poke at this, the more I think the device really is unlocked properly now and something else weird is going on here. If it was just locked, my Ting SIM card shouldn't work at all and I should get some kind of alert about it, right? Instead the phone's listing T-mobile as my carrier and letting me send SMS, but not phone calls. Ting registers its existence as well, and I get signal on the signal indicator, just with a little "something is wrong" type exclamation point on it.
Here's some APN settings I found by setting my phone back on stock 20A (again) and going through the whole process of getting Lineage 19.1 on there (again).
