It's too much to go into at this time I just got off the phone with Verizon and they basically told me I didn't know what I was doing. Which I can guarantee that I know more than what some of these packages and tier 2 people know. And that's only because of all of the troubleshooting steps I've had to take between 8 devices-two separate manufacturers a tablet that was repaired and came back with the same exact issues, & COUNTLESS numbers of FDRs, and it all has to do with the operating system.
:crying:
Hi,
I'm not sure how you think you will find help if it's too much to go into and you offer no details at all? :silly:
We have sections for many devices, and general sections for devices that have no section. But I can't point you anywhere with zero details or device names.
My Apologies
I meant, just at that time, last night. It was late, & I was SEVERELY anxious.
Sorry if I did not explain myself correctly.
I also have just suffered my 7th TIA(a.k.a., a mini-stroke), due to all the stress caused by trouble-shooting these stupid devices, so I'm still recouping a bit.
Again, my apologies for anything misleading. :crying:
Sorry to hear about the health issues. That's unfortunate.
But yes, to direct you anywhere... I'll need some details.
When you're ready! :good:
My Apologies
Again, I sincerely apologize. I guess I just was feeling out the forum & wanted to know what other issues & information others could share, that may be helpful to me.
Will, do though, thank you Darth!!!

Well, good luck Sir!
I'll close this thread. :good:

i dont understand this here forum, (redneck voice)...
while ive been here, in the last 2-3 days ive encountered the following:
1) horrible attitudes and question answering. not that the questions weren't being answered, just the way they were being answered. if a noob asks a question, let him ask. but we all know how easy it is for us to look cooler by bashing them.
2) Inappropriate use of language and shameful and offensive harassment. now passive as it may, calling a ROM "Gay" for not having xxx feature is wrong.so is calling said members "******s" even better?
3) trolls trolls trolls. if we have nothing nice to say lets at least keep it civil.
although we could all go on all night over something, this i sno way to have a thread. ive been in many other forums, and i can honestly say none are as bad as this one. if this is the way the i727 forum will conduct its business consider me gone. although i am not much help to the communtiy, i do love the Dev work. but if its at the cost of seeing a horrible thread such as this i think im better off stock.

5 Months and 14 posts???? This is by far the most deticated forum to the HELP and DEVELOPMENT for the largest selection of mobile devices and devices alike. I am not bashing you but after you have been around for awhile and contribute to this forum then your opinion with come with more value. There are many people on here that do help and are very generous but the are few and far between that are oh not so friendly (and I stress few and far between). If you are a noob then it would help to read the NOOB STICKIES to find out more about your device and learn your way around instead of just jumping in with no intelect or know how of how to use this forum properly. I have only been here for 4 years (actually 4 years ago today), I have tested hundrends of ROMs on lots of devices and have donated hundreds to the developers who help make this possible. Even though I have been through and done the forementioned I myself still read through the stickies to find out more information about the device at hand. You can never gain too much knowledge or know too much about what you are doing. There are weeks maybe even months woth of guides and stickes on this forum. If you need information about your device i'd say there is a 98% chance that someone has already gone through the same thing and has a solution to the problem. The best thing to do here is READ READ READ and try to find out on your own to solve your problem before just logging in and asking questions about something that has been answered because you are too lazy to look yourself. Hopefully you stick around and leanr more and see what this forum is all about. Don't let some asshats ruin it for you. They will be weeded out and generally the situation is solved pretty quickly. There are always someone somewhere that makes things difficult at some point.
If you have a problem with a post or thread hit the report button and let us (moderators) know whats going on. You also need to understand this forum is not a service center we are not here to make your phone cooler or get you out of your mess for not reading (that's 90% of the "HELP" threads or post) so if someone asks something that has been covered before most people will help you out not always as cheerful, but they do. Yes there are trolls, always will be but that's your job to report. We can't read every single post all day (2 moderators vs how many Skyrocket users?) so you guys have to help out. Will be locking this thread as its not really Skyrocket related (just your personal rant) about the community.
Cheers
I've been an XDA user for a few years now, and for the most part I have found it to be a great source of help and information across a wide range of devices and platforms... up until recently.
I have always had a strong interest in mobile phones/devices. And when I got my first smart phone in 2008 my interest was piqued further. I am not a developer, and I don’t intend on becoming one. I am a user. I love customization, apps, games and everything about smart phones (started on Winows Mobile, and I now use Android).
The way I understand it… XDA was started as a developer’s site/forum… for developers. Over the years it began to evolve into a non-exclusive community. Anyone could ask for help on any range of smart phone topics – which I thought was great.
Lately it seems that XDA has been trying to get back to their roots… that is to say, they are trying to make the forums more developer exclusive. I can only say that is a bad thing from a selfish stand point. Of course if I were a developer I might take issue with my forums being flooded with non-developer related (and therefore… irrelevant) threads and posts. I am in no position to criticize the site managers about what type of site they wish to run and how they want to run it. But XDA is becoming useless to me. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find help on non-development related topics.
So… Can someone please recommend another (more user-orientated) site? I like to ask questions on a range of topics; some device specific, some about how to use apps, some game hints, some general android queries, app recommendations, etc. Is there a better forum for a user like me?
Thanks for any help.
I used to frequent http://www.teambamf.net/ when I had my HTC Thunderbolt, Yea, it was my first smart phone.
They do a lot with Samsung phones, you might want to take a look and see what they have to offer.
CharlesTheMan is willing to help anyone who asks, they're good guys.
If you can't find what you want there, just ask, they can tell you what you need to do and recommend where to go if they can't answer your questions.
It always pays to search for different alternatives, I work in an IT department as a programmer, systems network analyst and a webmaster.
Don't always use the same search engine, change up, use Bing or Dogpile or many others to find what you need.
I can spend hours researching for what I need, there is so much out there now you just need to learn "Where To Look", per say.
Good luck and remember, if you don't find what you are looking for, look somewhere else!!
G.
Hi G,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I almost always do a pretty extensive google search before coming hear to post. I rarely use bing or anyother search engine before coming here to ask... will certainly give it a go.
Thanks again.
I don't think there's another forum as great as XDA
but if you could be more specific or if you like MIUI rom, you can find everything about it here miuiandroid[dot]com

hi retslagoon,
I do not have any particular question at this time. But thanks for your reply.
One issue I have with 'being specific' (and I think I might find this hard to explain) is that I can spend quite a bit of time typing out a questing/post (and trying to be clear and specific), while wording correctly; only to have it be ignored - for whatever reason. So the entire exercise ends up being a waste of time.
I do not know why so many simple questions get ignored on these forums, there could be a range of reasons (either because people don't know the answers to them, or because people don't bother to read them; I also wonder if it is due to the fact that some of these unanswered questions are not at all development related and therefor are intentionally ignored to teach the poster a lesson about posting on a development forum).
Eitherway, XDA is not satisfying my search for help/advice and information.
Thanks again.

My experience is that often threads are unnecessarily started: A quick Google-search before in most cases would have given the answer(s) requested. At least if the issue(s) is/are device independent. So you must not wonder a post istn't replied.
I believe a relative attempted to install via oden, A Verizon based module on this phone using odin. I am so unlearned about the android os that I do not know the terminology even to use here. Not complaints but just info, I am now victim to two arsons and thus homeless and rebuilding and so little time this is first chance I have had to post about this in some time.
I am not very adept at finding articles here so would appreciate any help any can provide.
I wish to and will learn all there is to know about Android some time in future and will master most of it except programing.
For now any help with any post or articles or what have you would be appreciated as well as any live help should someone so care to provide
You are welcome to PM or email me as well. [email protected].
If I am allowed to post this, I would consider paid help as well. If not allowed to post any part of this or if in wrong area, please help me correct my actions.
Thank you all in advance.

Hi,
Here is a thread on returning your device to stock with Odin, http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2942937
And as far as wanting to learn about Android and the things found on XDA, my only advice is to read read read. There is a lot of info out there, just search on terms or procedures you are curious about and read through the search results.
For your device, you can start with this thread to learn more about it... http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/general/guide-to-note-4-wip-t2939288
You can ask questions there as well!
Good luck!
Ty, Darth. Sorry for my noobness. I cannot seem to locate in the reccomended thereds, any thing about USCelluar phones or any link to any Rom, Kernal or what ever it is called. I do now know odin was improperly used and possibly a verizon upload was made to the phone and then on panic odin was ran and all possible options tried like flash tlock partition and any other options except pit.
I have not a clue where to start to fix it. I have been reading but if I seen any possible solutions, I missed them. Can someone please point me to some factory iriginal files for the USC NOTE 4 and some knowledge of how to use them? If some other files would work, where verizon or what have you, glad to try that to. The phone in question has never been on line or assigned any phone number since new. Not sure that matters. I do not mind messing it up further or experimenting to learn or help devs if any needed.
Thanks
Gh
I suggest then asking about your device here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/noob-friendly-question-t2866810
But I will tell you... Reading and research is a part of this hobby. Without doing a lot of that, people end up with big problems usually.
Here is the main note 4 section, I recommend reading through some of the sticky threads in the general and Q&A sections. Those are the threads at the top with a thumb tack symbol beside them. :good:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4
After you've read up and know a little more, then I'd worry about roms and whatnot. And any further questions can be asked in the first thread I linked in this post.
Good luck again!
I am confident in only big solutions. I thank you for your kindness and patience. I am only sorry that I do not know a rom from a kernal or a brick for now. I regret, I am not smart enough as well to follow the links so well or derive from then when I can. I do have unbreakable tenacity however and never lose a war due to it. The outcome for me is obvious but the time frame not so nice to me as I will not have time to read much for some months and now seek a quuick fix for a quick fix of feeling human again, for now. Any advise for a direct link to some adb and fast boot drivers? Seems this may be the sutipn and not odin for now. Seems I need to get what ever the file is called into the phone or files to recover to as mine goes to recovery every time but then losds the bum files it has stired. Would be nice to know how to idenify the files but all in good time.
You will need to ask in the threads provided. Xda Assist is here to help navigate the site, not for support.
If you have no time to read, and want things done quick, then I suggest to you that your heading down a risky path... And your device could suffer.
Also, XDA is a place to learn and share... Without doing your part here, meaning reading, you will have trouble getting people to help.
Thanks, and thread closed.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
You would have the best of luck asking for help in this thread:
> Android Development and Hacking > Android General > 5300mAh 5.5" Bluboo X550 - Review, ROMs, Info, FAQs
Please note, you will have to register for an XDA account to post there. Also, when posting, please be specific as to what the problem is, any modifications that may have got you to where you are (rooting, et cetera), as well as things tried to alleviate the situation.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Maybe. It could be a hardware issue, but me not knowing what the problem is (it was even mentioned that you "don't know why" the phone isn't working), software is more likely.
Which is why it is beneficial to post your problem in the thread mentioned above. I don't know anything about your device, except what I skimmed through on GSMArena. The people in that thread own that device, and have the best-hand user experience as a result. I don't have electrical schematics of every Android known to man filed away (I'm lucky if I have even one). Other than approaching the company, your fellow users are the best chance at getting that information, if it is indeed a hardware issue (and replacement parts are available).
Please be detailed there. Simply saying the phone "doesn't work" isn't constructive, and helps no one, as it suggests a plethora of possibilities.
Not to be cruel, I wasn't expecting a three word reply which effectively condenses the original post. Asking-for/needing/demanding effortless information/solutions, while someone else does the heavy lifting, is not what XDA Assist is all about. It's about pointing people in the right (I like to say best) direction with the information given. I feel I have done that. With an account now, time to get your feet wet.
Hope this helps.
Hello there!
So... I am usually seen as the more "techie" person among my group of friends & acquaintances (mainly because.. I know how to use Google, LOL), and that's been well and fine up until now. However, I've had a good friend ask me to help root his Samsung S20 Ultra for him, and return it when it is finished. I figured "Fine, why not?", considering I've rooted a few devices in the (distant) past...
As mentioned before, I'm not a *complete* noob when it comes to rooting/modding Android devices, but it has been quite a while since doing so... Since I feel a bit too "rusty" and more than a bit lost when reading up on this topic online--even when studying up on the topic on these very forums, I've realized that I'd probably get the job done faster, and overall be better off in the end, if I just ask the experts (hopefully you guys!) directly instead of trying to rush to figure it all out and attempt this purely on my own--since I'm not 100% confident at this point with what steps I should take first.
So, after seeing many people linking here, and saying that this forum is the place to go for these kinds of inquiries, well... Here I am!
There are screenshots taken from "CPU-Z" with all of the details of the device attached to this post, so anyone who is willing to help can be 100% sure of what I've got, if you need it.
Thanks much!

Typically, Verizon phones are bootloader "locked". Without being able to unlock the bootloader, it is not rootable. However, there should be a dedicated forum for your device. I'd check there.
