[Q] I lost my current phone usb cable , using old phone's usb cable to charge my phone now. Is it safe to do so?
Will it cause any damage to my phone in long term? Thanks.
The correct is to use your original usb cable, I have a Xperia ZL and my pc don't recognize it without the original Sony usb cable. But this isn't your problem, so you can use your old usb cable to charge your device with no problems

[Completed] Help with travel router in automobile.

I'm not sure where to ask this question so I thought I'd start here.
I have a HooToo Tripmate Nano travel router installed in my car with a 128gb usb stick containing a/v content. It works great. Everyone can connect and watch/listen to whatever is on the usb stick. My problem is that the HooToo doesn't allow connections to my cell phone hotspot so we have to disconnect from the HooToo and connect to the hotspot whenever we want to surf the internet. I want the HooToo to be able to connect to the hotspot so everyone can surf the internet through the HooToo.
I have looked at the TP_Link 700 series of portable routers but haven't found one that I can connect a usb stick to that will do what the HooToo is doing as well as connect to the hotspot. If there is one, I wouldn't be worried about being able to power it since I could bypyss the ac and connect 5 or 12 volts straight to the pcb.
Does anyone have any ideas or help for me with this project?
Thank you.

Samsung Galaxy S8 OTG (USB On The Go) USB Host

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmZQu_ok6RU
How do I fix my otg issue? It connects but says charging connected device. Even with a ps4 controller at 100%. When I go to tick the option to switch it acts like it does then it goes back to saying charging device. I'm on stock rooted and tried this on all the current roms.
Hello,
I have had a good time using a usb c stick with exFAT to transfer files to and forth from my s8+. In the holidays I had water over the device and after the usb liquid issue. After some days it went away but now no stick , be it my usb c one or others with the OTG connector , is connecting.
Problem is that through cable phone connects to the PC ( although slower than usual ). Also charging first detects a fast charge through original charger and in 2 seconds drops to normal charging. For a while I have reset the device with the stick connected and it got read but after unplugging direct or unmount would
not reappear at a second plug.
Any ideas , this is driving me crazy ( even did a full reset to no avail ).

A8 (2018) USB connection to HDD or memory stick

I've been having trouble connecting my A8 via OTG for some time. I have a Syntec USB-C to USB adaptor, which allows me to plug usb to the phone via OTG. However, this doesn't work any more (it did originally).
Sometimes when I plug in a device, the phone flashes device connected / device disconnected, sometimes it says usb charging, sometimes it doesn't do anything. I've tested the adaptors connecting them to the thunderbolt port on my desktop, and they work perfectly.
I've also tested the adaptor by using it with a USB-C to usb-a cable to connect the phone to my computer. When the adaptor is on the phone end, it doesn't do anything, when it is on the computer end it works perfectly.
Is there something I can reset or change on my phone to get this working?? It's driving me crazy.
Thanks,
Nick

Thanks for sharing this with us. But since you're not asking a question here, maybe you should just take your phone to a service center.
