Stock-based ROMs are really all you are going to get for a while. Cyanogen has very limited support of Exynos phones, and the few CM (Exynos) ROMs that do exist currently still have a long way to go.

Change your launcher and don't use the Samsung apps. I recommend textra for sms

You got 2 choices:
1- use a third party launcher like Nova, freeze or disable all the stock apps you don't like
2- buy a different phone. Open source and Exynos don't mix well.

[POLL] Stock with Xposed vs custom ROM

I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules. I was just wondering what everyone else prefers on their Note 3... Stock ROM with Xposed, or a custom ROM?
I have been using Slimkat on my Note 3 since I bought it. This week I might try out the stock ROM with Xposed to compare.

I prefer Stock ROM with Xposed.
I understand why others love custom ROM but I don't need it

yes also
Same here, mostly running alexandr's ROM with lean kernel. Works wonders. But I can't understand why people buy this phone and flash aosp roms that turn the spen into a simple stick.
one of android best features to me ... is having a custom rom
but lately they all feel like stock with exposed enabled .... im still searching for a good rom to use everyday
rooted X-Note 3 knox 0X0
Stock rom with xpose especially Wanamp:good:
Tested lots of ROMs, if not all, that are available for the Nope 3. AOSP, TW based...
Best look, performance & speed - AOSP cannot be beaten here. And even if some FCs happened until I setup an AOSP, after that there's no hiccups, even on nightlies. Fire up ART runtime, and the speed gets to disgusting levels, but it's like a car, the faster you go, the more likely the crash.
Pure stock TW is ugly as hell, but coming from Samsung themselves, it's stable and everything works. And there ARE people who use the S-Pen every day. o.o
Also, it's probably the fact that I can't properly set up the kernel on AOSP, because the ugly slow TW gets me more battery life than AOSP. And I go tinkering with the kernel, and USB stops working, FCs, and other s**t. :/ I need to learn more on the topic, probably...
Currently, using Audax ROM with stock kernel.
make my own custom since i don't really use some of the function avail on other custom.
i vote for custom rom
when i am in stock note 3 the ported s5 apps doesnt work thats why i chose s5 ported roms as the note 3 dont get s5 apps or even the s5 uI samsung fault they dont care about there fans new phone produce throw your phone away cause you well get worse update - as i know 4.3 was better than 4.4.2 / 1-call record working without root - 2- camera performance better - 3- white keyboard - 4-not draining battery fast and ... a lot of things i may forget it dont forget the last update which introduce knox 2.0 which make towel-root useless - so tell me reasons not be in custom rom or you just stock with useless phone / i just losing faith with samsung update cause i know every update are getting even worse
I like using stock-based custom ROM with Xposed.

Thank you for the subject.
Personally, I prefer Stock because it's official and custom rom does not give you a big advantage over the original with Xposed, except with the custom I can not activate screen mirroring.

Is there any possible way to install touchwiz launcher on Moto E2 without root or installing custom rom.
Any working flashable zip is available ?

It would be best if it is without root. But if its there with root it will also work.
I tried S Launcher and some launchers from the play store but it does not give me tge same samsung interface.
Also provide method to install as well as uninstall the same.
Thanks in advance.

If your going for root and have a custom ROM installed them you can just download a theme from play store that will help you
But if you wanna so it on stock then there's no other option to do it without launcher
Also I would prefer root because theme will give you a better interface everywhere not only in app drawer but also in settings, notification drawer etc !!

Ok no problem. Provide me the instructions for installation with root.
Can it be done just by rooting the device without installing a custom rom. It would be delightful if that is possible.
Just like we flash a zip file for some apps to be installed.

I don't really understand what you mean by that. Firstly be sure whether you wanna root you device or not . It's a risky job indeed to root the device . make sure you refer to the thread properly and have all the requirements. If you don't want all this stuff to be done then enjoy the launcher effects.

Thank you for your reply. This is similar to what I want.
I want to use whole samsung interface on my moto E2
(Samsung default messaging app, phone dialer etc etc , everything samsung)
The launcher which you have given works good and also provides the look which I want but I also want all the apps from samsung devices.

I've tried this as on my moto e but not with a Samsung interface, i tried this with the HTC sense 7 interface, by Xpirit here on XDA, but this made my moto e slow and laggy.
I also tried a windows phone interface with windows apps, I didn't like it.
Samsung's touchwiz is renowned for being laggy and slow on Samsung devices, why you want need this on a moto E is beyond me, but that's your choice!
What a full touchwiz port would run like on a moto e 2015 I can't say, because I don't know!
Just a small word of caution.........
I find that unless you flash a "themed" custom ROM, you won't get the "full" other manufacturer effect you desire, some element will still be stock android or "basic"
I haven't found any good themed custom ROMs for the moto e 2015, I'm not saying there isn't any, I just haven't found them.
But what I have found is placing different launchers, themes, overlays and xposed mods slow my moto e down to a crawl, performance is drastically affected.
Please consider this before you go ahead (you don't have to take my advise, any modification you choose to make is up to you)
Good luck

I have an idea but not sure about its success. You could go to any Samsung galaxy 4, 5 or 6 XDA and download its Deodexed Stock ROM
After doing that, try extracting the system.img and from the system image, you will get an app folder which will have the system apps. Choose what you like and copy those to your phone. As I said, I'm not sure whether this works.:laugh:
P.S : And yeah, just like @ivan39 said, y do you need a touchwiz background!! I mean, I owned a Samsung. It was a nightmare. I didn't even keep it for 6 months. Exchanged it for a moto e2. Just y?

I had several Samsung's, last one I had was an s9000i or s1 someone gave to me, it was the easiest to root/flash ROMs/make mods for, but it was the slowest and had the most pathetic performance of any any smartphone I've owned.
I'll personally never have another Samsung, I now only buy phones that are stock or pure android, I find them much better without all that bloat!
I did notice a lot of those horrible cheap Chinese handsets available have a touch wiz like interface, maybe you could find a port of that?
Edit
A discussion/disagreement at work today regarding theming ect......
Someone happened to notice my own moto e homescreen looks like the nexus 5x.
I only use the "beach drone" nexus 5x wallpaper, and I use Nova launcher with its standard marshmallow icons, but that's where the similarities with the Nexus ends.
I use the CLock weather/clock widget with google now weather icons that the nexus doesn't, and I also use a different google search widget on my home screen to the nexus.
The gentleman who took me to task over "copying" the nexus home screen could not grasp the fact android is so customisable, and as he had his own moto e 2015 with the standard launcher, the yellow disk wallpaper, he didn't see the point to change it.
His argument was I have a ford focus C max as my car, but its not badged as a Bugatti or a Porsche.....
So if a Motorola looks like something else, it is something else and I'm messing around with stuff I "know nothing about"
I explained about theming/launchers/XDA/mycolourscreen/themer and icon packs but I'm afraid it fell on deaf ears and this man was quite upset I had changed my handset so Much from standard.
Point I want to make is we all make our devices what we want, that's the beauty of android.
If you want a Samsung theme, good. If I want to try out HTC sence 7 (that I love but its laggy on my moto e) then that's great.
Its all about individuality and we mustn't let others tell us different!
If you want samsung why not just buy it?

What ROM instead SuperMan ROM

Because the best for me was SuperMan ROM is End of Life I want change for ROM what have actualizations.
I Don't want ROM based on Lineage OS - I dont like this ROMs
I looking ROM based on stock ROM. I don't need much futures and configuration
I looking Rom what have bookmark/additional screen with UpDay app, where I can change top bar (side of the clock, what is in top bar etc.), fingerprint unlock after boot.
Is now ROM what can instead SuperMan ROM?

I've also used SuperMan-ROM, SuperMan-ROM was a rom with a lot customizations and tweaks that you could set to your own wishes. I don't think there is a rom available at this moment that provides the same customizations and tweakers that is not EOL.
At this moment I've installed LightRom. I've used it for 2 days now, runs great and haven't had any problems so far. I do miss some tweaks/customizations that were available on the SuperMan-ROM, but maybe that is just a matter of getting used to the new rom.
I've also tried LineageOS, but didn't liked it due to some bugs with calling in general and bluetooth music/calling.
The rom The Galaxy Project looks promising, but haven't had the change to try it out.
There are some more roms available but I didn't check them out yet, so I can not say anything about them. You can see a rom list for the Galaxy S7 here: Rom List

HI! Great post question, I am asking the same question. I WAS using Superman ROM and LOVED IT! but then EOL came out and security patches were OLD and scared me. My main use no with S7 is protecting it and prolonging its life span. So which ROM is best for:
1. De-bloated - enough of jam packing crap into a phone ppl dont need or want and not giving them a way to delete it for good!
2. Updated security patches
3. Maximum Performance
Is it possible to STILL use Superman ROM final edition and flash security patches?
Samsung has stopped the monthly security updates, so only quarterly security patches will be available. Also Samsung is not releasing Android 9 for the Galaxy S7.
For this, some developers are working on Note FE ports. The Note FE ported roms are based on Android 9 and do get their monthly security patches.
At this moment these Note FE ports are very populair: (keep in mind that there are more roms available and probably new ones will come)
NoteFE port - BlackDiamond
NoteFE port - LightRom
Always read the first post and see if you like the rom based of the description.
I think that LightRom is the most debloated rom. I've used LightRom before, it was a decent rom, but it felt like debloating meant replacing Samsung apps with Google apps. It was more battery efficient than the Samsung Stock ROM, but not by a alot.
I don't know which rom has more performance.
I'm going to try the BlackDiamond rom, it looks very promising. But in the end it is always personal preference, you should read the first post of a rom and see if you like it. If you do, you can test it and see if you really like it.
Superman ROM is End Of Life, so it doesn't get updated anymore. You can not flash security patches separately. If you want SupermanRom with the latest security patches, then you'll have to do all the merging/programming work yourself. Also one last thing, you ask for maximum performance, but Superman-ROM isn't maximum performance at all. It's only just a little debloated, basically removed some apps that can be downloaded from app store again. And it also has RomControl, which makes a rom customizable but slower and less battery efficient.

Stock rom for smg 930 F?

Hi,last Sunday I bought an almost-new G930F;on monday I flashed Netherlands rom.
I've used and adjusted it some days but there are somethings than I don't like it:The rom has the face, instagram, skype apps, and Gear Vr Services. This app has surprised me with high battery use, really exagerated.
The rom has the 2019 genuary patch installed.
I would like to known which rom doesn,t has these apps,or when they were supplemented in the roms....I would like to test some Stock roms before flashing custom roms....I have a s5 and the perormance with stock 6.0 is excellent...
Your comments and experiences are appreciated,Thanks in advance from Spain!

Hello
All Stock ROMS have those apps pre-installed there's nothing you can do about it if you just want a stock ROM. However if you want to get rid of those apps you first have to root the phone then use any app remover from Google play store to get rid of what you don't want.
It is much easier to install a "Stock" Custom Rom which has all those apps removed and then your battery life will be great. There are lots to choose in the Rom section of this forum.

Question Will there ever be Custom ROMs for Galaxy S21+?

At this point I'm genuinely thinking of selling my phone and buying a new one with good Custom ROM support.
To each their own, but I haven't seen a need for a custom ROM since Android 9. I run a simple debloat script and the phone runs pretty damn well.

Tell me when you find a comparable phone with custom ROM support lol.
I don't "need" custom roms at all but it's a fun hobby to play with and at least on my old OP8P there was some support and I could just daily a new ROM every few weeks. On the S21+ there is only treble ROMs so far. And I don't wanna lose my Knox as my authenticator for work needs intact Knox on Sammy.

I don't think there is a need for a custom rom for a new phone atm, because everything works flawlessly and it's even better in a flagship phone.
the only phone that I will consider to have a custom ROM is Xiaomi one, because its implement an ads on its apk installer module.
why do you need a custom ROM? customization is very great with samsung Lock App. but, the good lock app is only available in some region atm.
