Is the Back Removable or sealed or do you have any access at all to the inside?
Sealed. Behind a piece of glass.

Ya its designed to be sealed. Its just glued down. Heating it up with a heat gun along the back will make the glue soft and it can be lifted up but if u dont do it right u can either break the glass back or overheat it and damage something.

Unclip the sides and take off the backing. Manually press the popbutton at the top and see if it boots. It should. If it does, then you didn't reseat it properly while putting the casing back on.
Did that. No effect. If I connect the USB I hear the connection alert repeatedly. Any idea what it means?

You may have shorted something out... How did you open it, and what did you use. If you forced the corners you may have broken something.
Something is not connected/seated properly.

Hello my dear. Turn off your device and try to push (volume -) + (Power (1 sec)). If you don't see the HBOOT, urgent change the device in that place where you bought it. Np.
Thanks will check it out and see what I can do. Mite have to replace screen. Noticed a red dot that should be white...

If the white moisture sensor turned red or pink this is water damage. Is this what you are referring to when you say "red dot should be white"? If so then yes the device got damaged with water or moisture somehow.

Yes. Under battery. Less go one just not screen. Should I replace screen??? Or is it something else

Try to remove battery and your sim card, then put it back again. Try to power up your phone, see if vibrates. If you still see black screen than something is wrong with your screen. If your phone doesn't vibrate it can be something else. Try to check if your battery is charged.

If the indicators show pink or red it is water damage. What exactly the water damaged is hard to say. But if the indicators have turned then that IS likely your issue. You can try taking device apart and placing in a bag of rice to absorb the moisture. Be patient with this it does work but takes some time. Also with device apart carefully dry off parts that are wet with q tips. I dropped my device in the mud. On the outside it looked dry but when I took it apart I could clearly see the water still present in the device. This worked for me however I did not luckily have my indicators turn on me. It all depends on extent of water damage. But give this a try . Best wishes.

Is this the beginning of the end?
If I press hard enough on my phone screen, the screen turns off until the pressure is released.. Any fix that won't cost me money.. Is my phone on the road to the trash can?
I'm actually pretty angry right now...
And it does this with maybe 1-2 pounds of pressure applied to the glass.. and it's never done this before -.-

Perhaps applying pressure is loosening the ribbon cable. Ive taken one apart and I find that ribbon cable disconnects rather easily. ofcourse taking the onex apart is a ***** as far as im concerned.

Maybe the cable is loose, but I watched some video where the guy said if the cable isn't plugged in completely the display turns off.
Maybe the pressure is pulling it away until released? I just hope the screen isn't dying for good.
I'm not sending it in to get it repaired, because I can't live with doing "fastboot flash boot boot.img".. If I can fix it myself (for less than $30) I'll be happy.
I'd hate to have my phone die on my now, especially since I started devving :crying:

If its the cable.. I believe the one all the way to the right is power. The thick copper looking one. And it slides in.. I'm thinking it may not be cable related... maybe the LCD itself.... you can always try reseating the cable though.
Wait.. no that's exactly where the cable is.. my bad. I think its the cable
Sorry for my confusion. Almost positive the cable is loosening when you press it.

Well the screen will only stay on if the housing is removed.. works perfectly fine without it.. can press down as hard as I want and the screen works
FML
As far as i know, it is not a good thing,As with the Housing, the housing applies pressure to the phone..that's part of the reason my one x developed screen flex, on the right side...and it is issuing your problem as well. Or it is more likely the cable. Lucky i haven't had this problem yet :victory: . Hmm

hi guys, weeks ago i dropped my phone and the screen was cracked (the phone was dropped on the screen side hitting the floor),
yes, the phone is still working and everything seems to be fine except the screen, there was dark lines here and there inside the screen.
there is this thing that worries me that the screen might no longer going to work anymore, i dont know, maybe sooner or later because the cracks seems to becoming worst day by day.
attached together is the figure of this phone screen condition.
is there anything i can do to fix the screen?

Hi everyone . I have been using nexus from about a month now.
Yesterday my phone went completely mad .
I had just come back from washroom and tried unlocking the screen .
My phone didn't even register my touch . the emergency call started itself. Buttons got pressed on it own on my pin screen . it took me ten tries to even enter my own phone . then the home screen wasn't responding. The touch went off calibrated . I tried switching off and on . tried touching power off . airplane mode started and was switching on and off . I finally got it to power off . then restarted it again . no use. Same thing. Tried again. Same . and again. Same .
Finally with great difficulty logged back in my phone and did a factory reset. That too buttons kept pressing itself . I dunno why this happened. I haven't dropped it or anything. I lost all my data . even after the reset it doesn't feel.like it felt first .
Did this happen to anyone else ?? Please help .
Did you get it wet in the washroom?

Sounds to me like moisture got to it somehow. Condensation maybe? Only thing i can think of that would cause random and erratic touchscreen input.

Steam from a shower or bath is enough to ruin the phone.. It doesn't have to physically get water drops on it.

What this guy said.
Turn it off and come back in a couple days. You should have done this in the first place but hey, woulda, coulda, shoulda, you didn't know. Hope it works for you otherwise it's RMA time.
Try putting it into a bowl of rice for a few nights. This generally pulls all of the moisture out. It definitely sounds like you got some moisture in there somehow.
I've also read somewhere that putting your phone in a bowl of metho will pull out moisture. But do not quote me on that haha.

I had a samsung nexus s and whenever there's moisture on the screen (mostly sweat), it randomly presses anything. So I wipe it off and leave it for a few minutes, then it's back to normal. Didn't happen yet on my N5 though.
