HDC S6 - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
I bought this phone just a few months back. It is a great phone for what I use it for (emails, music, using it as a phone ,....)
I have only one problem with this phone.
The advertised specs for the phone is 3GB RAM, 64GB Storage, Octa core - 6592 mtk.
The problem I have is storage, even though the phone reports storage of 64GB, the available space is actually very low 6.8GB. I have about 2GB of music. How is this possible?
The phone is lying about the storage, even though it reports available spac of 6.8GB I cannot install new apps or even update apps as the phone complains about low storage.
My questions -
If the phone has 64 GB or even 32GB storage how do I make use of the storage.
Is there any new ROM for this phone that allow med to change the partions? Assume that the SD card is actually inside the phone.
Can I open the phone and see if the SD card is installed?
Thanks

Bro... u should check on internet before buying this phone...
All of phone specification are wrong and real specification are different in clone devices

Like what problem?
Yes. What kind of problems. I have 2GB free and use to have less.
maybe he mean does we hava anything wrong with that case.
my problems are:
i have the original microsd 8gb class 2 when i put some videos, music or pictures and the capacity it's over 5gb, when i restart the phone the "preparing microsd" notification doesnt dissapear and i never take the phone control back except when i release the battery and put it back and change the microsd.
I've bought microsd 8gb class 4 and the same happens.
it's there any solution?
i'm using 4gb class 6 and no problems but i need more space.
Your problem is the SDCArd in general, I was nearly trowing away my XT720, bought an new SD card from ADATA and same problem. My last hope was an new Quality SDcard now with a "Samsung Micro-SDHC 16GB Class 10 - Plus-Serie MB-MPAGA" I have a new phone , no errors, no restarts, didient have to "battary reset" since i have that card.
The investment in a good SDCARD is (IMHO) the best you can do to your phone.

Innovation on Storage in Mobiles - IDEA

Hello Everyone,
In present times, if a company does not "innovate" or CREATE then its done for them..
But innovation has taken on to mobiles like anything.
You have OSes, you have hardwares the might of a mini-supercomputer wrapped into the mobile phones, and you have accessories to take that to the next level as well.
Above all if something lacks then it might be compensated by an application to some extent.
But of late these mobile manufacturers have started making fun of the very consumer who buys it from them and gives them business.
Cost competitiveness is the forte for a mobile phone company, but I simply do not understand why this ridiculous 16gb and 64gb variants for specifically the versions WITHOUT AN EXPANDABLE STORAGE..
FRUSTRATING AND @@[email protected][email protected]$$ what not...
YES this thread is about the LIMITED STORAGE ISSUE, you guessed it right..
Well you now have companies offering accessories which can personalize your device with NFC, extended battery, Music centric features, slider keyboards and stuff like what next.. in the back panels/ back covers.....
I have a innovative idea myself, well they dont call me the strategist just like that.....
What if an accessory was to extend the storage of your device....
like make a 16gb non external sd storage device get extra from a back cover or plate.....
If something can be possible, then this would be awesome because we people who need that extra storage wont have to clammer for a OTG or Pendrives.....
Pls some BACK Cover for this purpose to extend the storage so that we dont have to fiddle with an OTG option which is an extra and this will also be like fixed/ permanent with the mobile ...
let me know your thoughts on this people....
Warm Regards,
I have a cool idea, what if we could have an access port on each phone that could accept the cards of your choice.
Like first you buy the hardware (phone) then you can have your choice of cards that the memory for the entire phone would use, the only internal memory installed on the phone would be what was needed to hold the rom, the card would have two seperate modules, one for the ram, the the second for the storage.
As far as making it universal to all phones manufacturers would set forth a common socket to be used (much like a crazy microsd slot)
This would make manufacturing the hardware alot cheaper and add more customization at the consumer level
So the card would come with say a standard 2gb ram/14gb storage and as you go you could have say 16gb ram/16gb storage,
Design could be based on the current class 10 microsd only with it having 2 different module set and having direct access from the cpu via a memory manager.
O and when we switch phones all our information would go with us because we could put it in our new phone and our phones numbers, apps, (granted will need reinstalling,) txts, pics, ect

16 GB ram is impossie due to other hardware limitations. Internal memory must be embedded to the motherboard to prevent disconnection and to maximize speed, because you will have your system in there, after all.

Ram dose not haft to be hard wired to the board, look at pcs with expandable memory. My point is you would have 2 physical cards in one with access point for both witch will be controlled by a memory manager that is directly connected to the cpu. We are on the move to ddr4 witch means memory will hit the 22nm scale so packing 16, 32, 64, ir even 128gb would be no problem. Also with high transfer rates of ddr4 module lag between card, manager, and cpu would all be dependent on the set bus speed for the cpu and throughput of the manager
Edit
Yes physical hardware problems right now. I mean in the next batch of phones. This is mainly just for r&d and it is possible. Ya know 10 years ago 4gb of ram was unheard of in any pc, now we have it in a phone

[Completed] Need help or advice about new tablet

Hy!
I'm going to buy my first tablet tomorrow, so I'd like to ask few questions.
I tried few tablets with Android 4.4 and 5.1, but yesterday I saw new tablet in nearby store with Windows 10 home system, and its cheaper than similar spec Android tablets.
I can't post a link as new user, tablet is Mediacom winpad w700.
I might get 64Gb memory card for storage and some apps, but I'm worried if 1Gb of RAM is enough?
Also, I'd like to know if its possible to install windows 8.1 on it, I don't like windows 10 much (yet)?
Next tier tablet available here is Samsung galaxy tab 4, but its almost 2x price.
(1.2 quad core, 16Gb flash, 1.5 GB ram, and higher rez screen).
I don't want to pay too much for tablet, its just for some browsing and movies when I'm not near Pc.
Sorry for long msg, I'm new to this forum
Cheers!
It sounds like for what you want to do that will work fine. Does it have a sdcard slot? There are plenty of cheap tablets android or any os. Just remember the saying you get what you pay for.
Yep, it has SD card slot.
I just ordered it, it should be here tomorrow morning
One more question, I found some answers on kther forums saying to keep backup of OS on USB device, so not sure if its really necessary?
Is it possible to reset windows tablet to factory settings, just like android phone/tablet?
If not, any idea how much space is necessary for backup? I have 8 and 32Gb USB laying around, so if it can fit to 8Gb, it would be great.
Update
I really love it, it's better then I expected.
It takes long to reset to factory settings, and it took me even longer to find out charger needs to be connected for reset lol.
It supports 64gb sd card too.
I wish it had more ram, sometimes I get Low memory msg, but its because I keep 5-6 tabs open.
Pagefile can't help, cause this CPU (z3735g) support only 1Gb.
One more question:
I'm not sure if I can safely disable pagefile, since it's not usable?
Thx for help!

256GB SDCard on GT-I9506/RR Rom

I got a 256GB SD-card recently. Only after purchase I bothered to check the phone specs, which clearly states that 64GB is max supported card size. Stupid, I know.
The phone sees the 256gb card, is able to read-write to it, but otherwise acts weird. Data amount saved to the card changes on every reboot, number of songs downloaded to card varies on every reboot. Either the card is faulty or its simply too big.
Noob that I am, couple of questions:
1) provided that the size is the issue, is using multiple partitions (eg split the capacity in two 128GB parts) worth trying?
2) are there differences on various ROMs on how they handle large capacity SD-cards? Currently running ResurrectionRemix 5.7.4-20161113 (Android 6.0.1)
Thanx and have a good one
SD cards support is more a matter of hardware than software. Otherwise even 2010 smartphones could run 256 GB SD cards.
I would say the card is faulty, since the phone wouldn't recognize it if it were to not supported. But don't take my word for it.
The reason why the S4 has the max capacity listed at 64 is because, at the time of its release, the biggest card was 64 GB.
256 gigs is way too high like Ow said.
Go with a type 11 64 gig memory card, I'm using a 32 gig type 1 and have to deal with errors constantly.
Partition it 4 x 64Gb using Minitool Partition Wizard.

It's likely a software/ROM issue as a friend of mine with a Note 2 has a 256GB MicroSD that runs perfectly.
The SDHX standard on the S4 can support MicroSD cards of up to 2TB theoretically.

Kernel issue?
Try a kernel that supports exfat. I have one on an S3 mini running CM 12.1, and I am using a 128gb microsd with no problems.
Can anybody confirm a 256GB card works? It should since my 32GB works as exFAT and if the last post says 128GB is also working, that would suggest all sdXC would work, no?
I got a 128gb (micro sdxc samsung evo plus) on my galaxy S4 I9505 and runs like charm.
I'm sure if it was 256gb would run with no problems as well.
So the problem is not the card capacity, that's for sure.

Help me (fake tablet)

Hello,
I bought this tablet :
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Plus-Recen...m43663.l10137&nordt=true&rt=nc&orig_cvip=true
CPUZ and DevCheck give me the same material as the datasheet :

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/8682/v3Id9F.png
But everything is wrong ! For example it is supposed to be 128GB of internal memory, when I plug the tablet on a PC there is supposedly 115GB of free :
https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/1643/8i1iau.jpg
But when I copy 10.8GB above ... I only have 8.25GB left ! :

Is there an app that can give me the actual hardware of this tablet ?

It is well known that there are sellers from China that sell faked products, including sdcards that do not have the advertised capacity. I've seen sdcard that were actually 32GB being sold as having 500GB and 1TB of storage. It seems to me that you've probably bought a tablet that actually has 32GB of storage but has modified to tell your PC that it has more storage than it actually does.
Here is a video that explains what they are doing with sdcard, it's probably the same thing was done to the tablet you bought.
