Will a 4GB mini SD card work in the Trinity (Orange SPV M700)?
If so which 4GB card will work (Please send me a link for UK purchase).

any idea??

I'm using a standard mini 4GB sd - no probs at all.
Filled it up with about 3GB of media and prog files so far.
Formated it using Pocket Mechanic.
Takes an age to defrag

how long have all of you had the 4GB mini sd cards? i have heard of people having them working for a couple of months but they die after a few months.

I am using two 4GB TOPRAM mini SD since one week ago and I haven't had any problems. I bought them in ebay to Kofkl and Erkirkland. Do not buy to Mobilemem (not reliable Supplier).

well i had a 2gb right now topram, kind of died i believe, the computer seems to see something but just hangs and then says i either dont have a device in, or get an I/O device error i believe :/
but i was really looking into the 4gb topram one, but also want to know who had one for over a few months working still as some people reported them to not work after a while??
and were are the other manufactures that have 4gb NONE sdhc :/ MiniSD

I'm glad to hear that your SDHC card is working well. What rom version are you running and have you done any tweaks to your device? Also, do you use the Windows Media Player on your Trinity? I'm just trying to track down where the problems could come from. Thanks.

I bought a 4Gb mini SD from mobymemory. It came with a nice little adaptor/keyring too.
Unfortunately it kept corrupting data from day 1. Files and folders being deleted, then named with strange characters.
To give mobymemory credit they got me an RMA very quickly and refunded me within a week.
In the end I went for a 1Gb card from Crucial (as was in a desperate rush). £10 with special next day delivery. Wanted 2Gb but they weren't in stock that day.

MobyMemory's 4GB miniSD is working fine with mUn's latest WM6 ROM(2.0.0.SE), filled it up with music and no problem so far(some user reported that MM's 4gb card worked nice until it was filled with more that 2GB of data, so, I decided to test that with mUn's ROM).
With a previous WM5 & LVSW WM6 rom(2.0.0.3) I had a few issues, a couple of 100% percent data loss events lol, it hapened whenever I stressed the card, i.e. listening to music while playing a game installed on the card, power off the device while still playing the game( or auto power off if the music was paused ) and powering the device on again.

My MiniSD 4GB memory card worked fine for only one month! After that My trinity stacked and had to to soft reset wich time I pushed the start menu, all this with the old ROM without GPS.
I've inserted in a card reader, and copied everything to a folder in the host pc, formated the 4gb card copied again everything to the card, udated the ROM and is workig very fine so far, until when????

Kingston doesn't work - SPV does not see it at all.

Defragmenting Memory Cards is completely useless There is no Harddisk Head running around on your SD Card, so defragmenting is useless. And: SD Cards only have a limited count of read/write cycles which will be reduced by defragmenting them.

Changing micro sd card

Recently received my orbit 2 and it came with a 1gb micro sd card and copilot. I want to upgrade to a larger card but will that mean losing copolit? Not sure if it installed itself on the card the first time I turned on the device, or if it came on the card to begin with. If that's the case, how do I switch this over to another card? Thanks.

Everytime I upgraded my MicroSD card, I just copied everything I had on the card to a folder on my computer, then inserted the new card in the phone and copied it back.
Everything ran the same exact way as it did before I upgraded the card. Even all my applications that were installed on the card.

Was about to buy a new card (going for 2gb), when I found a few choices:
- sandisk micro sd
- sandisk micro sd premier
- or I could go for sandisk 4gb sdhc
Is there any difference in performance or anything else between the above? Any advice on best option for the orbit2 (or even other brands)?

If i'm not wrong SDHC is a completely new technology, and the cruise is one of the first to support it.

I just dumped a 2gb in favour of an 8gb. It was only £30 or so, might as well!

I bought a micro sd of kingston class 4 16GB in the store, not happy with it at all.
In the beginning it had issues because i couldn't put any files on it. Eventually fixed that. A week ago i couldn't put any movies on it, let say files bigger than 100mb. Now i can't put any songs on it:S
Already did chkdsk, and formatted it like 20 times, still same problem

Go back to the store and maybe ask for a new one??they have lifetime warranty

is the card format are fat32?

Yes 1GB ext4 and remaining is FAT32

Then have u try to copy the file using the card reader?

Give the card back and buy another make. I bought one of these a few months back and it was causing me a lot of hassle. I had it replaced with another one and same problems again. In the end I just gave it back and went for a Samsung 8GB class 6- has been working fine so far.

Just to let you know, I had a Sandisk 16Gb class 2 and I replaced it with a Lexar 16GB Mobile MicroSDHC Card Class 6 High-Speed and it's working not to bad, I'm really happy with it, much faster then the Sandisk.

Removable Storage in HTC Mozart

Hi all,
My apologies if this has already been covered but i have a question regarding the removeable but not removeable storage within a HTC Mozart 7.
Ive pulled the phone apart previously a long time ago and had a 16 kingston class 2 Micro SD installed and it caused alot of freezes and crashes and as such i removed it and placed the existing sandisk 8gig class 4 Micro SD card back into my phone, Ive been using this fine for quite a while and the time has come where i either have to remove all my pictures and movies (Back them up of course) in order to keep using the phone as i have run out of space. This isnt something i want to do as i like to have the pictures and movies on the go with me like they should be so i can access them whenever i want. Ive started using skydrive to store my pictures to make room on my phone so i can use it. Anyhow as im getting off topic i`ll get to the point. I purchased a Genuine Sandisk 32gig Class 4 microsd card before the release on mango in the hopes it would work and it subsequently didnt. I therefore email HTC support asking them for a list of what cards are supported and strangly enough they did respond. With this

As there is no mention of the 32gig card being supported i took it out. im now trying to install a 16gig kingstone class 4 card and when i boot the phone i get the error "Memory card not working". so i thought i`d try the old 16 gig class 4 card and got the same message. Its worked before but i have a feeling that it may not be working now as it was used with the old OS and not with 7.10 so my phone no longer detects it. Anyway does anyone have any ideas on how i can get the 16 gig or 32gig class 4 cards to work with my phone? Do i maybe need to jailbreak it to make it support higher cards?

For those wondering themselves how to do this (Mango Update). Basically follow your guide to removing the old SD card and input the new one, ive had problems with kingston class 2 cards and bought a genuine sandisk 32gig class4 card which is now working and installed in my HTC Mozart.
After installing the new card and booting your phone you get a message "Memory card not working" whereas with the old original OS you got prompted to format (looks like M$ changed that feature). So what you need to do is power off the power and holding down both up and down on the volume keys power on the device. You`ll get prompted with a 2 options.
Volume Up - CRC checking ( i think)
Volume Down - Factory reset
NOTE-this will wipe your phone completly. If you havnt done a zune backup i STRONGLY advise you do this before attempting this.
Press down and you will see a message advising "Reset Complete". Power off the phone and turn it back on and the phone will restart in "First Run" mode. Once you have completed all the steps you should see the OS booted up. Check Settings\About\More Information and you should now see your new size depeding on the size of the SD card you`ve installed.

can you make external SD card as internal storage?

I heard marshmallow android 6 update you can make external SD card as internal storage. Is that true? Has anyone tried it yet?

Yes, I tried it on my HTC m8 gpe and it works fine, tried with 128GB card.

Am talking about changing external SD card to internal storage on HTC one A9 with Sense 7 UI with Marshmallow Android 6?
i don't understand what you mean by adoptable storage? do you mean Internal storage ?

When he says adoptable/adoptive storage, he means that you will format your SD card to internal storage. There is an option in the settings. I have done the same with my HTC One A9 using SanDisk 128GB UHS-1 (version 1) Read 90 MB/s.
By doing so, all your DATA will be SAVED in the "new" internal storage (128gb and not in the 32gb phone storage).
However, APPS will STILL be installed in the PHONE storage (32gb).
E.g. the HTC Camera app will remain in your phone storage (32gb) but all camera shots will be saved in the "new"/adoptive storage (sandisk 128gb).
Also, when you plug in your device to your PC, it will ONLY detect the adoptive storage (sandisk 128gb) as this is THE default internal storage of your phone.
I recommend formatting your SD card to internal storage if your SD card is FAST enough and you are sure that you do not need the default 32gb. Also, if your SD card is higher than 32gb of course.

Also make sure is a original sd card and not a counterfeit one, cause a counterfeit one will fry and delete all your data, best option is use a SanDisk sd card.

is 128Gb SanDisk Ultra 0MB/s 533X UHS-I Class 10 fast enough for Internal storage? or SanDisk Extreme more expensive?

SanDisk 128gb 90mb/s class 10 UHS-1 (ver1) is good enough.
I tried formatting an old SanDisk 64gb 30mb/s class 10 and my One A9 says the card is slow and may not work properly.
I bought mine from a retailer and he advised me just to buy SanDisk (US$60). They also sell Kingston 128gb (US$48) but he didn't recommend it since the actual speed of their class 10 (90mb/s) as per package is just around 40+mb/s. It's original but it seems Kingston is lying on the max read speed.
Note: I stay in Malaysia so I'm not sure if microSD cards are cheaper in your country.
