corrupted my 8GB Sandisk Ultra II after 3 days of use.
The card could be read INSIDE of my Raphael but not on my PC with different card readers. This would be a minor problem but my Raphael also destroyed randomly files on the card too.
I thought the Micro SDHC Card was defective and send it back.
Now I own a Sandisk 16GB Card and it got also courrupted in like 2 days of use.
Some file from my *Notes* was thrashed and other files followed.
Raphael will try to open the file and then stay busy. After like 20 seconds a message containing "There is not enough memory " pop up... (150MB free ram should be enough to open a 2 kb Notes-file )
Wierd thing -> My *old* Sandisk 6 GB MicroSDHC Card I own for more than half a year now works flawlessly... (Till yet )
Someone here got the same experiences ?
Someone got some advice for me ?
I read something about updated SD sdrivers from member Tucan which he cooked into a german stock rom. Are they any good for me ?
Is there a Rom which should solve my problems ?
Help will be really appreciated !!
im sorry but the new memory you have must be fake, that explains why it works with your old mem, and why after sending it back, the same place sent you another fake.
Oh lord here we go, I just ordered my 8gb MicroSDHC card from newegg since the Fuze will be out soon I hope this isn't a common problem.
I corrupted my 8GB once, but by my own fault. I was in the middle of a transfer and was connected as a hard drive, not through activesync, and hit the power button which disconnected it from the computer. I hooked it up as a hard drive again, went into windows and reformatted the MicroSD... No issues from then on.

I ordered both cards from completly different places, so that is unlikely.
They did work normaly (some days) even on my PC, so I guess it is my Raph which corrupted them

I´m always *releasing* my harddrives/cards (on my PC) with the icon in the lower right corner to be save from what you experienced.
Oh man. I have the 16GB Card sitting here and cant use it... I will try it in my old XDA Trion (aka Hermes) for the next days ...
Anyway thanks for your replys !
Someone else has some thoughts about the problem ?
Maybe it has something to do with all the powersaving *features* beeing enabled through -Advanced Config 3.2- and -Diamond Tweak- ?
Well I'm using the same rom as you and was using an 8gb Sandisk card until I got a 16gb Sandisk card and both work flawlessly I'm afraid. I have also applied the power saving tweaks you mention with no ill effect.
using 8gb for about a month now, no problems at all.
Oh, I should mention I've heard many people talk about how there were a lot of Tilts that corrupted MicroSD cards. It was a flaw from the factory, apparently affected a number of them. I wouldn't be surprised of HTC saw some of the same issues with the Fuze, knowing all of the issues they've had already.
My 8gb card works just fine.
For reference, I'm using an A-DATA Class-6 8gb microSD purchased from NewEgg. Cheap, fast, reliable, perfect.
16gb bog standard San Disk Micro SD is working fine at the moment.
Formatted using Panasonic's SD Formatter as I corrupted it before I even put it in the Pro.
my 8GB works fine too
Maybe if everybody posts the brand name of their cards we can determine if this has something to do with the issues.
I remember with my Hermes I had to get a specific brand and produced from a certain plant to not have any issues. I still have my Kingston Micro SD from the Japan plant with no issues.
Using 8Gb and 16Gb of Sandisk with no probs on my Touch Pro.
Hi,
I may be barking up the wrong tree here but are you sure you have not enabled the Encryption setting under Settings. This will encrypt the storage card so it can only be read from the phone. Removing the card and placing in a PC or Laptop would show up as corrupted.
I selected it by mistake once and it corrupted my folder tree and showed garbage.
Not saying this is what is up but is worth looking at.
Personally I have a 16GB SanDisk card in my Touch Pro and it been OK. Been running for about 3 weeks now.
John
maybe the cardreaders from youre PC are not compatible with sdhc.
This is redundand and it may be opinion but im looking into buying a class 6 8gig. Is adata reliable? What company is the best in your opinions for what im looking for. Fastest?

Sandisk. Always. Forever. For my memory cards at least
FYI...
I put a 16Gb Sandisk in my TP on monday (5 days ago)... not a single problem with it and no corrupted files either.
I was previously using my 4Gb Sandisk card from my old Kaiser... which also worked perfectly fine.
Had a Sandisk 8GB card in mine, no problems. Now have a 16GB Sandisk, no problems.
For me I'll buy Sandisk, and only Sandisk, for my memory cards.
I have the very chip you described in my kaiser (class 6 a-data 8gb) runs without a problem. I've never really had much problems with microsd chips but I gotta admit I got a little worries when this thread poped up not so much about the chip but the phone itself, I've never had a bad chip in my life bought about 20 or so thus far, the a-data does well in terms of speed nothing to be excisted about but for it's class and size it holds its own.
Trying to decide on 16 vs 32Gb. Any able to provide details on how much storage is available once the OS etc is considered ?
16GB does have 12.5GB available space available.
32 GB not sure, haven't seen anyone mentioning this, probably around 27GB
Thanks. That's not bad on the 16Gb - although it will soon fill with music and movies. Hope USB OTG mass storage works OK.
Hi,
I bought this phone just a few months back. It is a great phone for what I use it for (emails, music, using it as a phone ,....)
I have only one problem with this phone.
The advertised specs for the phone is 3GB RAM, 64GB Storage, Octa core - 6592 mtk.
The problem I have is storage, even though the phone reports storage of 64GB, the available space is actually very low 6.8GB. I have about 2GB of music. How is this possible?
The phone is lying about the storage, even though it reports available spac of 6.8GB I cannot install new apps or even update apps as the phone complains about low storage.
My questions -
If the phone has 64 GB or even 32GB storage how do I make use of the storage.
Is there any new ROM for this phone that allow med to change the partions? Assume that the SD card is actually inside the phone.
Can I open the phone and see if the SD card is installed?
Thanks
Bro... u should check on internet before buying this phone...
All of phone specification are wrong and real specification are different in clone devices

I got a 256GB SD-card recently. Only after purchase I bothered to check the phone specs, which clearly states that 64GB is max supported card size. Stupid, I know.
The phone sees the 256gb card, is able to read-write to it, but otherwise acts weird. Data amount saved to the card changes on every reboot, number of songs downloaded to card varies on every reboot. Either the card is faulty or its simply too big.
Noob that I am, couple of questions:
1) provided that the size is the issue, is using multiple partitions (eg split the capacity in two 128GB parts) worth trying?
2) are there differences on various ROMs on how they handle large capacity SD-cards? Currently running ResurrectionRemix 5.7.4-20161113 (Android 6.0.1)
Thanx and have a good one
SD cards support is more a matter of hardware than software. Otherwise even 2010 smartphones could run 256 GB SD cards.
I would say the card is faulty, since the phone wouldn't recognize it if it were to not supported. But don't take my word for it.
The reason why the S4 has the max capacity listed at 64 is because, at the time of its release, the biggest card was 64 GB.
256 gigs is way too high like Ow said.
Go with a type 11 64 gig memory card, I'm using a 32 gig type 1 and have to deal with errors constantly.
Partition it 4 x 64Gb using Minitool Partition Wizard.

It's likely a software/ROM issue as a friend of mine with a Note 2 has a 256GB MicroSD that runs perfectly.
The SDHX standard on the S4 can support MicroSD cards of up to 2TB theoretically.

Kernel issue?
Try a kernel that supports exfat. I have one on an S3 mini running CM 12.1, and I am using a 128gb microsd with no problems.
Can anybody confirm a 256GB card works? It should since my 32GB works as exFAT and if the last post says 128GB is also working, that would suggest all sdXC would work, no?
I got a 128gb (micro sdxc samsung evo plus) on my galaxy S4 I9505 and runs like charm.
I'm sure if it was 256gb would run with no problems as well.
So the problem is not the card capacity, that's for sure.
Guys sorry for this dumb question but I heard that the S7's maximum SD-Card capacity was 200GiB.
My phone is rooted with magisk and SuperMan-ROM 3 (later maybe LineageOS Pie).
What happens when I insert a 400GiB SD-Card which I could get very cheap this weekend?
Will it work fine with all the capacity?
Will only 200GiB be accessible?
Will it not work at all?
Thank you!

I've had sucess on multiple phones using SD cards that were bigger than what the phones said they were capable of. I look at is is they can only guarantee up to thier stated max capacity, anything above that and there is a possibility of problems or not being able to read it. But every phone is different.
If it's real cheap you could get it regardless and could still use it. I picked up a little adapter for $12 that holds a micro SD card, it's regular USB on one end (for computer connection) and micro USB on the other using OTG function. Nickles for size comparison
I can confirm that the SANDISK Ultra® 400 GB is working flawlessly with the Galaxy S7.
The phone formats it to exFat and it shows 366 GB of available space.
(Which is correct.)
Only thing I couln't do yet is creating two partitions and linking the second to internal storage (No1 for exFat storage and No2 for Ext4 internal-sd-extension).
Well this just won't work.
When I try the internal-sd-extension is detected but I can't use it nor can I use the exFat storage which is not detected at all.
Don't know how to do this.
But nevermind.

For something like that you may need to use something like gparted to partition it how it needs to be for that to work, but I don't know
