Hi there, you should download smart switch and use emergency firmware recovery, From there you should click 'more' then click emergency software recovery. Key in your device SM-G920W8 then input your serial number (Found on your device Box) then voila, it should download the latest firmware for you.

well, pointing him in a more accurate direction would be much better i guess, no harm intended!
I had a similar issue the solution for me was to install twrp 2.8.7.1 recovery using Odin as my phone lacked stock recovery and would not flash firmware as a consequence.
Sent from my SM-G920W8 using XDA Free mobile app

maybe you should consider bringing your device to Samsung?
I have the exact same problem right now. SM-G920F, tried to root, epic fail, tried to unroot, still a disaster. Smart Switch won't recognize my phone. Trying to download the latest firmware now, but it takes so long.. -_- will keep you posted if I find anything that works!

Supposedly you can't flash that 5.0.2 firmware is because your bootloader is already 5.1.1, therefore you can't downgrade the software, but i saw on Sammobile that Canada is going to get the update soon, so i guess you can use Smart Switch's emergency recovery to restore your phone soon.
So when you started what baseband were you on? Did you update to 5.1.1 I don't care if you did it via a ROM just did you update to 5.1.1 officially or did your phone come with 5.1.1 if it did you need to download the 5.1.1 firmware not the 5.0.2 firmware because of the new bootloader.
Edit: You could always use my guide which can be found here to make your own tar file that doesn't flash any bootloader only system, kernel, and recovery you will also get the latest Note 5 UI this may help you in case everything else fails.

Were you ever able to get this to work? I"m having the same problem.
Thanks!
I just spent a couple days unbricking an s6, and the way I was able to do it was to load a version of TWRP that finally worked. From there using Odin I was able to flash stock firmware, however I had downloaded several different stock firmware versions until I got one to work with Odin. All the others just gave me an error. So just keep trying different versions of stock until you get one that works.

Yeah man, I just used Kies to resotre my carrier's firmware. All is well. I actually upgraded to an S7.
i have an s6 edge which i think is incompletely rooted (Knox also tripped) without having any SU apps.what should I do now to use it fully along with OTA updates.
For using ota update u need to flash stock firmware from sammobile or Samsung-update ok & about u install root u should seen app called supersu or try to re flash it supersu zip ok
I dont have supersu app on my phone (SM G9250) also Root checker says Ur Device is not properly rooted while Device status is CUSTOM instead of Samsung Official.
I cant flash stock firmware thru odin as it is repeatedly getting failed even when i tried it on 2 computers and 2 USB cables.
Plz help me.what should I do next to unroot and get OTA updates.
Mate what that failed on odin can u post log that's shows on odin or screenshot? ? anyway try latest official fw from sammobile for ur s6 ok

What to do next?????
Does it require factory reset also before flashing new FW.
Plz help
No its doesn't required mate & that's really strange i always flash newer fw on my s6 but doesn't get failed mate u had issues that's ur knox won't let bootloader updated strange anyway change odin version & try it with other versions ok & look at this time just do exit odin reboot ur pc then try it again with other odin version ok
Again failed
I tried odin 3.10.6 as well as 3.10.7 but its still failing.
What next now?????????????
I'm new to this. I've been using 6.0.1 on my galaxy s6 edge (sm-g925p) from sprint.. I finally found a working root so all is good but the issue is i cannot find a working TWRP for this firmware. The ones i do find boot to the Teamwin screen where i have to swipe to make changes, however the touch screen doesnt work.
So, ive decided to downgrade to 5.1.1. My question is when i do downgrade to 5.1.1 and flash to a different rom is there any custom roms for 5.1.1 that have the same or similar features as 6.0.1?
I like the look and feel of 6.0.1 marshmellow but i cant seem to find any working recovery for my model (well it works but as stated above the touch doesnt so i cant really use it)
On another note ive been trying to downgrade from 6.0.1 to 5.1.1 and i keep getting this error

Hi there,
I have a G930W8 (Canadian S7) that I am trying to flash a stock 7.0 ODIN file to, I have used ODIN several times without issue... but this time it doesn't seem to be working.
I downloaded the latest 7.0 from Sammobile, and put the respective files (BL/AP/CP/CSC) in their boxes, but everytime I try I get a FAIL message, and it seems to be only the BL that's causing it:

You're not trying to downgrade are you? I'm not 100% if it carried over into Oreo, but the last bootloader in 7.0 locked it from downgrading.
