DualSim anyone or anywhere? - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any country or region variant of the moto g 2015 which offers dual sim?
Like the xt1068 moto g2?
It seems that the feature has been killed at least in Germany...

This thread mentions a few versions of dual sim: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3168594
Looks like mainly South America and Asia.

XT1550 - 8GB and 16GB Dual-SIM are available on Ebay for delivery worldwide. There is a high risk of additional custom charges. Also, XT1550 may not support all of the 3G / LTE Bands used in your country.
8GB | 1GB RAM: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Launc...ed-Dual-Sim-1-2Ghz-Quad-Core-4G-/252040743748
16GB | 2GB RAM: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Launc...Gen-Unlocked-Dual-Sim-1-2Ghz-4G-/252040752217

The XT1550 variant should be fine for germany, it's missing one LTE band (B20), but the other two supported (B3, B7).
The price on ebay is pretty high (~288€ for the phone + possibly ~55€ for duty/taxes = 343€).
I am looking into buying on flipkart.com and shipping to germany with in.vpost.com or shopandship.com.
Cost would be about ~181€ for the phone (16gb) + ~25€ for shipping + ~39 for duty/taxes = 245€. Which would even be less expensive than the phone without dual SIM costs in germany.
Does anybody want to try this?

Wow! Very interesting, did you do that?

I think the way it works is that you create an account with in.vpost.com or shopandship.com - and they provide you with a shipping address in India. You then create an account on flipkart.com with that info. For example, flipkart sends the phone to vpost, who in turn post it to you.

Hi folks,
The Moto G dual SIM (XT1033) is already available in the most popular online retailers, its price is around US$ 250. However, it seems that this device is selling well because the availability of units is decreasing fast.

Moto G in saudi arabia

moto g is not available in my country so I gonna travel to suadi arabia. please some one led me to where can i found this phone in suadi arabia only for single sim x1032 version?tnx
If I were buying a phone to use overseas, I would just buy it online through Motorola or amazon. Those are the places you can buy the unlocked international gsm version, whereas most retail stores carry the CDMA version, at least that's how it is in the U.S. I wouldn't buy it in Saudi Arabia as their prices tend to be high, so ordering it online would be the cheapest option and shipping times aren't too bad; about 1 week or less.

You wont. I bet it will be released as a Driod Turbo 2 in the USA.
Wait a few weeks it might pop up on unofficial sellers on ebay etc.

You might be able to get it from a Canadian retailer?
Yes, I just didn't know if I would need to go through a proxy to be able to order it. And I didn't know what they would say about the "ship to" being American.
Droid Turbo 2 will be a higher end phone. Perhaps it will have the same form factor with the processor power of the X Style / X Pure, a big battery and wireless charging. Everything the X Pure should be but wrapped in a hideous Droid skin.
In the same boat, was looking online at how to order and then ship to the US. There are certain services where you can "rent" a canadian address and then they will forward your mail to you - but by the time you pay the set-up fee and the forwarding fee, it seems overly costly. I did also try to order directly through Telus, but they require a Canadian address to ship to.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Mexico and Brazil Moto X Play variants are the same as the Canadian (XT1563). So we just need to figure out how to get one from any of these countries. I'm coming up empty though.
Wait for it to turn up on Amazon Canada and then just ship it to the US as Amazon Canada do ship to the US by the looks of it.

Using this now in Brazil. Coming from the Verizon Note 3 and Nexus 7 2013 and I'll say it's a decent phone but hardly spectacular (the screen in particular) if you are used to USA flagship phones. However it's nice to have two sim slots and an fm radio which are features almost unheard of in the States. Lollipop 5.1.1 is nice too!
Is the 1563 exactly the same in Brazil, Mexico and Canada in regards to LTE bands supported? There is a "BR apps" package on my phone, presumably exclusive to Brazil but I'm wondering if this is otherwise exactly the same as any other 1563.

According to Motorola's site, it's exactly the same for LTE bands.
Who did you buy it from in Brazil?
just a heads up, The Canadian Bell Version is locked to Bell! I tried my Rogers Sim and it wouldn't work, so you'll have to buy a Canadian version, then pay to get it unlocked. It's only available through the carriers in Canada. You cannot buy a retail\unlocked version, they're all only available thought carriers and locked to that carrier.

Thats a bit crap innit. I think for once we are lucky in the UK. We get both the Style and Play unlocked and Carrier free.
It will turn up on Ebay or Amazon carrier free eventually but could be a bit of a wait.

Bought from a Motorola kiosk in a mall for 1499BRL, which is $428 USD approx. 32 gb edition. Incidentally I noticed they had already sold out of them when I passed by there yesterday.
Possibly regretting this purchase as LTE band 13 is not available for Verizon, but will be available on the US edition of the Style ("Moto X Pure Edition") coming this Fall. Argh. I definitely like having two sims in one phone however.
Aside note, the new 3rd gen Moto G has a version here in Brazil that sports live TV and an antenna that allows FM radio listening without earphones. Why the heck can't we have those things in the U.S.! I digress.
I know one of the Canadian retailers told me that they feel like people will soon buy it with the unlocking fee (50), unlock it so any carrier in the US can use it and resell for a high value on eBay. :/. I know there is a way as long as you can get someone to buy it for you located in Canada! If anyone was looking to get one- feel free to message me! Would love to help someone out =)
Normally unlock codes turn up on ebay for a few Pounds here in the UK. I unlocked my brothers M8 for £2.50 by buying an unlock code from an ebayer.
It was easy ... I emailed IMEI number to the seller ... he then gave me a code. I placed a sim card (none carrier) then phone prompted me to put the code. Once I entered th code ... voila my brother had an unlocked phone.

$50 to unlock a phone seems pretty steep. if motorola doesn't play any games, unlock codes can be had for cheap on ebay.
ok i am setting up to order from sasktel wireless in canada. I work in logistics and have my warehouse their set to receive any phone i buy. I am setting up an account with sasktel and i will be buying a phone from them first. it is locked to sasktel but unlock codes could be had. Anyone interested in getting a phone aswell from canada? 16gb versions only but have sd support
with shipping to the lower 48 states we are probably looking at around $500 to import the phone total. Let me know if anyone is interested i will see if i can set it up
Has anyone in the US got a Canadian moto x play and can confirm at it works on att or straight talk? Also just wondering how much would I be looking at paying for the moto x play to get it shipped to the US? Thanks

Reliable retailer for 6x 64gb models

Hi all,
Anyone know of a reliable retailer that ship to Europe that sells a grey model with black front and 64gb storage?
If I have 64gb internal storage I would be able to use dual sim rather than filling the second slot with sdcard. But this model is unavailable in Europe as far as I can tell.
Thank you for your help!
The second slot is only 2G
AS per my knowledge, that model will be available only in China. It wont be released anywhere.

That would be a pity. Wonder if it would work outside China, or if its even possible to get from there.
I read somewhere that the 4gb model may be released internationally in March which might include the 64gb storage version.

I don't think 64gb variant will be released. However if the bands in your country matches with the supported band by that variant, you can buy it.
Also remember that the devs for this variant will be available only in Chinese forums.

Question Anyone know a trusted source to buy LE2113 (global/EU) variant of OnePlus 9 that can also ship to Canada/US?

Hello XDA people,
I am looking for a trusted source to get LE2113 (global/EU) variant of OnePlus 9, specifically looking for 12GB RAM 256GB storage size, that can ship to Canada or US (I live in Canada). All official OnePlus websites in Europe only can ship within Europe. AliExpress's official OnePlus store has a similar problem too when ordering the EU version. Anyone know or have bought this variant and got it shipped to Canada/US, and from where?
I tried this website: https://www.teknistore.com/en/64-bi...isplay-android-11-48mp-camera-warp-charg.html, but I got a feeling it is a scam from the reviews on the website in general.
Thanks.
You may want to check the radios on those to make sure that they're compatible with your provider. The EU version doesn't have the same radios as the North American version. The NA version actually has MORE radios.
Unless the extra RAM and storage are important to you, I'd just get the NA version an you can convert it to the EU ROMs.

The EU version has most of the network support in US/Canada (it supports all of the networks of the carrier I am using here in Canada - I am using Freedom Mobile). The reason I want the global/EU variant is because of the dual SIM support.

I mentioned that in my previous answer. I live in Canada, and I am using Freedom Mobile. I checked Kimovil for the network bands support, and my carrier has 100% support (not all phones have that, especially band 13). In fact, this phone has green everywhere with good support, so I believe it will work great with most networks across US/Canada, hence why it is a global version.

The problem is with the network support. Check Kimovil for the CN version vs Global version vs NA version vs IN version. NA version has the best network support overall and in North America. Global version falls slightly short, but I want that due to having dual SIM support, so I can tolerate a bit loss of network support over no dual SIM (if NA has eSIM at least, I'd get it, otherwise forget getting a single SIM phone). CN is super ****ty version because of the lack of many network bands support in global and in North America, as well as missing the wireless charging (wireless charging is not that important for me now). IN version is even ****tier in all of the things I mention before.
This is my reasoning to get a LE2113 (global version) instead of the other versions. I have a global version OnePlus 3, and back then the networks are fine since, for example, bands 4 and 7 were heavily used everywhere, but now they seem to be discontinued in many places, and I would need a phone with band 13 (long distance frequency) to get a signal in many areas (at my home, it is always in roaming now).
