5.1.1 users step in.

I've been running Android 5.1.1 for a few weeks now and although it's fast and snappy,it does have it's share of "odd quirks".
The built in security for one seems to be a bit of a pain in the rear ..... crash and restart.
Any thoughts or observations to share?
Can you give some input regarding the UI on 5.1.1? Is it equivalent to 5.1.1 on the Note 5?

I *thought* I already posted back on this thread...my apologies.
To answer your question,I haven't seen the Note 5 yet so I can't comment on that.
One thing I can say is the built in security protocols of my 5.1.1 are a big pain in the butt.
I can't wait to root this thing and clean house!
I doubt Samsung cared enough to change the UI lol. Samsung wants to sell new phones, they are not interested in you keeping the phone you bought last year. I think I've heard that the 5.1 upgrade is just like the 5.0 update. Its mainly an Android thing not a Touchwiz thing. Touchwiz never gets updates except when a new phone is being released
To be honest, the interface is different than 4.4.4 somewhat .... especially the notification drop down.
They also seem to have a better handle on disabling app's than 4.4.4 had.

Again its just Android redesign not TW. Touchwiz doesnt change for any phone. Samsung has been doing this for years now

[Completed] What can I do with stock att s5

I have a stock att SM-G900A S5 that is updated to 5.1.1 . From my understanding their is no root for this so far. So far I'm pleased with the update as its seems to be running a smoother and less loading time. For my taste there are absolutely to many irrelevant apps that I will never use. What can I do to get rid of some these and more importantly if I can do away with some of them, how will that affect my S5? I mainly use it at home as a Hotspot because I live in the swamps and our only option for Internet is satelite.

from zv7 to latest on ls996, worth it?

hey guys need your help figuring out if its worth updating my ls996 from its current zv7 to the latest update. currently i am rooted and running quite a few mods and i am pretty happy with the way i have it, but i guess my question is, any advantages on updating? gain in speed or battery life? from personal experience would you recommend updating or holding off until the possible android 6 update? i mean what changes have been made to the firmware since zv7? also one other thing i'd like to ask would be, how are you guys overclocking or i should say what are you guys using? particular app? i gotta say im pretty lucky, my device after i had to switch it out with sprint due to overheating, turns out the one i got in return came out solid, does have the snapdragon 810, never really had any issues with overheating, which is why im considering overclocking.... any help or opinions are greatly appreciated.

[REQ] Kitkat based rom ?

Hello,
is it possible to have a working KitKat rom on S7\S7Edge ?
Marshmallow is such a pain with some apps, and still so many bugs to me.
Don't kill me, I'm just asking

But why would you even want to install old software on a new phone? Just buy a Samsung Galaxy s4 for that.

I know someone will ask.....
i was happy on my S5, but S7 take photo far better and more faster for example.. and more powerfull btw ecc.ecc.
but kitkat is fully supported and customized, like lbe , xposed, led notif, fingerprints, greenify, amplify, etc. on this 6.0.1 (for now) all those things do not works or works not well.
Im just asking as temporaly measure till 6.0.1 will be perfect..or 7 at this point.,
kitkat was the last stable and working for me of the android family, lollipop was a mess..marshmallow is a bit better but not perfect yet.

Well, then you will have to kindly ask a developer to do this, if he or she is even willing to sacrifice their free time to this. So, unless a dev doesn't agree to build such rom, it is not going to happen, which will most likely be the case.
I too would like this, for two reasons in particular. I find the "old" jellybean GUI much more comfortable and user friendly to use, and with more possibilities for tweaking and modifications (currently to this date). The second reason, after installing Marshmallow on my old S4 it became much slower and "heavy" in every interactive way. Had to stay on kitkat. I would image the same way around with the S7, in that it would be much faster and more editable with an older Android version.
See , im not that insane ^__^; .. Kitkat with Amoled expecially was good all in dark black way... with LP and MM it's just a mess of light everywhere; ok dark themes are avaible and we can use xposed to change a lot.. but its not the same thing. Plus some apps starting to refuse to work if root\xposed found like snapchat :| Im fighting with Doze\Led blinking ecc for example.. and notification... better than LP but still a mess compared to KK. And i love to have LBE still not working on MM SD card still not avaible on all apps, u have to works a lot to flash so many zip from recovery ecc....Plus right, KK on this hardware will rocks even downclocking heavly and battery will last so longer.

This will not happen.
KitKat does not have all the APIs to take full advantage and optimizations for 64bit HW. Oh and also the bootloader and boot images changed a lot since 4.4. It is better to give up your hopes.
I stumbled accross your thread here doing some searching.
I am interested in buying the S7 Edge.
However, I really hate Lollipop and MM. I hate touchwiz, knox bootloader, even selinux.
If I could run kitkat 4.4.2 on the S7 edge, I would buy one.
Sticking with the oppo find 7 running modified color os kitkat 4.4.2 and Xposed framework.. May even buy another one once I wear this one out.

Revert Back To Marshmallow on American Tmobile S7?

I have an American Tmobile S7 and I just got the Nougat update the other day. There's no bugs or issues, I'm just not loving Nougat. The Marshmallow was a better user experience for me and I also liked the material design look better.
How could I revert back to Marshmallow? I read where I could use use a rom but then I would have to have my phone rooted and that is not possible, correct?
I thought about factory reseting my phone, but then I would constantly have that naggy T mobile upgrade notification in my drop down bar, right?
i love Nougat updated on mind i have not had not one issue with my Nougat updated i did a full wip after the updated too get ride of any bugs the Nougat updated has been grate for me
Factory resetting won't work. You will still be on Nougat.
