When is 16Gb version available? - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I see the 8Gb 3rd gen Moto G is now available through various outlets, however the 16Gb version is not. I do not know if limited stock has sold out already or is yet to arrive. Does anybody know when this is expected to change? I'm interested in purchasing in the UK. Amazon.co.uk does not list it at all, and Amazon.fr only has 8Gb in stock.

Aamzon.fr has the Black 16GB version in stock.

Ah. I wonder if it's a mistake, as Amazon.de has the 8GB model for the same price.

Yes, I noticed that, slightly odd but Amazon can certainly be that from time to time.

That is strange. Is "mini-SD" a typing mistake in your post? I thought that the Polaris only supported Micro SD.
- Julian
It only supports micro-SD. Must be a typo...
Idd only microSD supported, and officially, only 4GB is supported I remember.
It even supports 16GB. It's just because 8GB and 16GB didn't exist when they made the official specs.
And where do you find microSDHC cards of that capacity? (Perferrable in Belgium but UK is ok)

Yes. Currently the biggest MicroSD card is 8GB. Sandisk announced a 16GB microSD at last week's CES expo in Las Vegas and that is due to ship in June but price is not yet known.
The SD 2.0 standard supports addressing for up to 32GB so I would guess that in about June 2009 there will be 32GB microSD cards available (based on capacity doubling every 12 months). Beyond that we will need to hope that a new SD standard comes out to support > 32GB addressing.
- Julian
But (at the moment) 8 GB are enough for me..

I aksed Beards if he got this card as Class 4, hope he confirmed it and will take it and wait for the int. mail if there's no alternative
just bought one today - didn't want to buy off ebay and get a counterfeit, couldn't find anyone with em in stock - ended up going to sandisk's web and hitting their "where to buy button" - ended up they had amazon on their list, hit them & found a dealer (KomputerBuy) with them at the best price ($82 shipped) - they had four left when i bought
apparently KomputerBuy is shipping a different sandisk model number for the Ultra 16G than the model number sandisk display's on their web and they (Komputerbuy) display - the card is still marked Ultra but marked class 2
and just found someone else's post where KomputerBuy responded to a request for an explanation that it was a "stenciling typo sandisk had experienced some time back"
again, problem with that stmt is that the skin packaging or blister packaging shows a different model number
i've already started my return request

I think it might actually be compatible, if the difference is only the color and storage size.

Moto G vs. Moto G Differences

I'm about to order my second Moto G (16gb, US GSM) identical to the first one I pre-ordered. Unfortunately, my clumsy ass dropped my unprotected Moto G face first into the concrete cracking the screen. Not the G's fault...my stupid fault. My question is this: My first Moto G was from the first "batch" produced. Are there any minor differences between the first round of Moto G's released and currently shipping G's? Sometimes minor things will be tweaked from batch to batch like the display calibration or even very minor hardware changes from one vendor to another vendor. Just wondering if anything like that has happened that I should be aware of.
Nothing has changed really, you may get Sharp-made screen instead of the usual LG made one, but they both are good, so nothing to worry about.
Moto is using cheaper Hynix-made memory chips on the dual sim versions, instead of the usual Samsung ones which perform way better and less heat output.
Let's hope that these didn't make it to the 1032...
Other than that, everything else should be the same.

You seems to have one of the better versions of the XT1033, maybe a whole batch was made, no idea, but certainly there are ones with Hynix RAM chips.
The eMMC is made by Toshiba for all Moto G's that I've seen so far, altho they might have another suppliers for NAND flash storage.

There are also some visual changes. The battery cover on my 16gb from USA is more rubbery, a little brighter, moto logo is silver color and when the screen is off, u can see that is more yellow than 8gb from Tesco which is more black-dark blue(but only when is off, otherwise no difference when on).
So inside difference:
Tesco 8gb: eMMC 8gb Toshiba DRAM: 1024MB HYNIX S4
USA 16gb: eMMC 16gb Toshiba DRAM: 1024MB Samsung S4
Toshiba 16gb with hynix module. Can't complain.

Hey, Hynix-made chips are harmful? or is there any drawback in these chips? Please tell me man!! I am worried about my XT1033 as its having SanDisk eMMC and Hynix DRAM!!! If its not good then tell me asap so that I could get it exchanged from flipkart.
Interesting. My pre-order 16gb US GSM 'G' has Toshiba and Hynix. It'll be interesting to see if the components in my new phone are any different. If so, I'll duplicate everything on the new phone the best I can and see if it "feels" any different than the previous model as far as performance is concerned.

Do not worry about hynix or sandisk or whatever
Any ram or emmc no matter toshiba or samsung can develop a fault
just a matter of chance

Try with:
su
dmesg|grep -i panel
in a terminal emulator if you are rooted. Paste output here.I'm not sure tho if that's gonna work or not, Android is weird OS.
The only viable way to me is disassemble and check on the back of the panel.
If someone else can help with a better way to retrieve who the manufacturer of the display panel is, speak up.

[Q] Does the phone support 64GB memory cardsT

I want to know if the Xperia M2 supports 64GB memory cards? On GSMarena it says that only 32GB are supported, but some phones work with bigger cards.

PROOF Use Google Translate
in short it says that three people earned a memory card to 64GB! No one has complained that it is not working. Try to be exchanged for another, such as Kingston, as is suspected SanDisk
I also had some problems with SanDisk earlier. You should use some more reliable manufacturer just like mentioned above.

Are you in any way aware of how HUGE and ubiquitous SanDisk flash storage products are, in the digital product market? It seems not. LOL.
It does.
Anyway, I've recently had problems with both manufacturers Sandisk and Kingston. In this device I didn' t took the risk and bought a Samsung microSD. Zero problems so far.
I have 16 GB SanDisk ultra, and my M2 removes it randomly , i checked the card and no problem. I use it on a Samsung galaxy grand duos, and i dont get any problema similar to M2.
