I want to know if the Xperia M2 supports 64GB memory cards? On GSMarena it says that only 32GB are supported, but some phones work with bigger cards.

PROOF Use Google Translate
in short it says that three people earned a memory card to 64GB! No one has complained that it is not working. Try to be exchanged for another, such as Kingston, as is suspected SanDisk
I also had some problems with SanDisk earlier. You should use some more reliable manufacturer just like mentioned above.

Are you in any way aware of how HUGE and ubiquitous SanDisk flash storage products are, in the digital product market? It seems not. LOL.
It does.
Anyway, I've recently had problems with both manufacturers Sandisk and Kingston. In this device I didn' t took the risk and bought a Samsung microSD. Zero problems so far.
I have 16 GB SanDisk ultra, and my M2 removes it randomly , i checked the card and no problem. I use it on a Samsung galaxy grand duos, and i dont get any problema similar to M2.

Not at all: http://www.androidnz.net/2011/09/sandisk-64gb-micro-sdxc-cards-confirmed.html
This is actually a really good question
acording to this it should be able to use it up until 32 GB
and for bigger ones it need to use exFAT.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SDXC#SDXC
Linux systems that support SDHC cards also support SDXC cards, as long as the card contains a compatible file system. A proprietary driver is available for the exFAT file system.

There shouldn't be any problem with 64gb if it works on other phones. I doubt that it's hardware related.
Almost all the phones have the same specification about maximum sd size, and it's 32gb. The 64gb is new and the specification on the phones was written when the 64gb wasn't available.

Does it support an exFAT filesystem with the O3D or have you got your 64gb card with a FAT32 format?

I had an 64GB card, but my P920 literally ignored it. So no 64GB for me.
So now I have my old 8GB back, and its working.
But why on earth would somebody need 64GB?
The sound quality is even worse than my 10 bucks mp3 player

Because 32GB is not enough.I have 46 games on mine sgs 2, only this games need over 30GB free. Were I could put rest stuff like movies, films,mp3, maps for navigation etc.? Some free space for my own video, taken pictures.now I have got 80GB and only 6GB free memory. That the reason that I change lg optimus 3d on sgs 2. 40 GB is not enought

Then the boys 3d optimus quietly supports 64gb?
no no no!!
look here!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038039
And this guy "3waygeek" blogged this further:
Well, I just got the SanDisk 64GB microSDXC. As I predicted, the SGS2 couldn't read the exFAT filesystem the card is formatted with. However, the SGS2 did format it as FAT32, and seems to accept it as a valid device.
I'm now copying my old 32GB card to the new 64GB, using standard USB microSDHC card readers on a Windows box. But before I did that, I ran SDTools on the microSDXC. Read speed 18 MB/s, write speed 6.6 MB/s; see the attached snapshot. Those numbers suggest to me that the device is the bottleneck, not the card.
So, aside from the lack of exFAT support, it looks like microSDXC will work. it works! just let ur phone RE-Format it to fat-32
hmm
I saw a post saying that 64gb had worked properly on LG-SU760, but I don't have any idea what sdxc is actually working well on Op3d...
It might depend on sd company.
see here it is available for Rs. 3455/- only!!!

UHS Support
hi everyone,
Im new to the forum and my first post. And sorry to interupt on a another thread coz I thought ths wil be just a simple thing to know.
Im intend to buy couple of sandisk mobile ultra 16gb UHS-1,
I knw that uhs stand for ultra high speed, bt don't know weather these cards are technologically different than normal sd cards.
So I would like to know would these work on our O3D?? Thank you.
I have read on amazon website that 64gb sd card working our galaxy R and galaxy s2.But only downside is that ,it costs more around $70 to $80.
Has anybody checked it?

specs of my past Acer s200 says that it supports up to 8Gb MicroSD, but it works fine with 16Gb.
That was mine that it supports Hight Capasity (MicroSDHC) cards.
So if the 64Gb card have the same technology, it should work fine.
added later
64Gb use the "SDXC" technology. It shold work if the kernel have supported driver for that type of cards.
D'oh!

I have XWLA4 Android 2.3.6, kernel ardatdat 1.7b2, earlier 1.6 Everything works stably. I use the card 64 is almost two months. I had a ardatdat 1.5 and the card 32 gb and android 2.3.4. Another confirmation for Xperia L C2105.
I bought both 8 and 16 GB Sandisk UHS-I cards. They both work fine and blazing fast when storing photos/videos from camera (even on 8 megapixel/HD resolution).
They even come with big android logo on them over here
Ok I habe bought a 32 Gb, it's work nice. For everybody .. GO
Recommendations would be most appreciated.
I got a SanDisk 128 GB and it has been working great so far.
The Samsung pro plus or sandisk extreme pro lines are what you are looking for. Enjoy

I would recommend you Samsung MicroSDXC 64GB PRO Memory Card. Also other Samsung cards are great.
Very good read/write speeds.
I put a Lexar 128 GB 1000x in my MXP and it is functioning great.
I'm considering purchase of this phone - sounds like support for a micro SDcard works well, so is there any benefit to buying the 64 or 32GB internal storage models vs. the 16GB model? I can capture video and do TWRP backups to the (relatively inexpensive) SDcard, so what am I missing on a cheaper 16GB phone?

Is the Moto X a UHS-I or UHS-II compatible host device? The extra cost of these higher-end sdcards would be wasted otherwise, correct?
Edit - I googled this topic and found this post: https://forums.motorola.com/posts/8cda627ead . In short, it confirms that the Moto X benefits from / takes advantage of a UHS-1 U3 microSD card. @EmperorX makes a good suggestion.
I still want to know if I really want to spend extra for a 32 or 64GB Moto X, given that I can buy a 32GB UHS-1 U3 card for US $15.
Both cards are UHS-I class U3
It does support uhs-1 from what I've read. We'll see, my wife's card gets here on Wed and I'll test out. Sandisk extreme pro.

I see you've read what I read.

and what the maximum amount of the SD card can be used as system memory? I have a card to 64GB, and when you try to make it a system unit for a long time it formats, but it is empty and then says that the card is damaged, but if you use it like a regular card, it works fine and displays. Do not tell me what could be the problem?

Can you report on the relative performance of your higher-end microSD card vs. the internal storage? For example:
compare the time it takes to do a TWRP backup of the whole phone to internal vs. the microSD card
Capture full QHD video directly to the microSD card
etc.
Thanks!

I've got a generic 32gb class 10 and I have it as internal and its really laggy when I use Facebook, twitter etc so at the moment I just chuck my games on there. If I get a San disk extreme or pro will that eliminate the lag?

Maybe... But don't expect it to. Internal memory is much faster than even the fastest SD card. If you must use your SD card as internal storage for apps due to space, then move low usage apps to external card and heavy use ones to internal
