Hi, I know I haven't contributed much to the community, so I decided to work on something.
I've just finished building a MIUI port for our phone, but I haven't tested it yet. Still in the process of making a nandroid backup right now.
So I was wondering if anybody wanted to help test this or help fix bugs and whatnot. I can't guarantee that this won't brick your phone, sorry.
So... is anybody interested?
Dude, if you post this over in the development part of the forum you'll have a bunch.
Isn't MIUI based off CM?
Also, I'd be willing to test.. as long as I can recover my phone in event of failure. Haha.

well so far... testing hasn't been great... I'm just getting a black screen... I'll PM you the link though. If you have any experience with roms, maybe you can help me out.

That's what I was saying haha.
Also, thanks. I'm no dev but I have messed around with building ROM'S. I'll look at it tomorrow morning and see if I can get it to boot.
EDIT: I don't see a pm, could be because I'm on the xda app falling asleep though. Shoot me one and I'll see what I can figure out.

WOW! I was just in the middle of porting when I saw this thread haha. We could possibly collaborate when I am done
Cm7 is too buggy to get MIUI good enough for daily. I suggest waiting for cm9 to work on miui 4.0 or even better one of the real time miui porter is working on the T-Mobile sgs2

Wait.. What? Some one new is working on MIUI for tmo?
That would be great news.
Do you still have your skyrocket?
Working on this now will be a waste of time as within a month or so, everybody will be turning to ICS

I almost got a port from O2X working but it doesnt seem to want to run. its gonna be pretty dificult to do considering no MIUI ROM that has an OMAP 4430 cpu. granted im a very Basic knowledged person when it comes to porting. id love to help to the best of my ability on porting it over if anyone is interested.
Its a nice rom seems still not miui

The basic requirements would be same CPU, same baseband. Best if the wifi, GPS, touchscreen, audio chips are identical also. If not it would be quite difficult since some kernel hacks would be required.
I will give it a whirl
And so I have spoken it.. and so it shall be.
Yay! Thanks

+1 i'd like to learn too
I'm good at reverse engineering stuff. Its how I learned some coding. Tore it apart and saw what happened and learned. Not recommended. Its a slow process.
But I'm pretty good at figuring stuff out. Unfortunately that makes me an awful teacher

OK I finally read through the thread I posted the link to last week..and I'm giving it a shot...the good news is Ive built cm7 and cm9 from source on my atrix so my computer is already set up for it and I'm familiar with make files and figuring out breaks in the build. Bad news is I'm still a bit confused about where to put which apps and what not but should be able to figure that stuff out..I hope lol

Looks great, it will be nice to have a universal camera app that can be used as a base for the community
I don't even remember when I installed NCamera... Gotta be at least 6 months (feels like it) and have been trying to find an update for it.
Thanks for the heads up. I tried the moto x cam but video doesn't work. I'll love it when that's stable, though.

Excited to see CM try to put back all the utility you lose when you load CM instead of a OEM based ROM..... zzzzzzzzzzzz
Please.... , if its anything like the effort at building a better CM launcher I won't lose sleep waiting.
Maybe the CM founder was right recently.

Wow, how cynical!
Much worth the effort to catch up to OEM camera considering the innumerable benefits to CM over TW. Camera is one of the FEW things keeping many on TW.

Cynical is accurate so. is innumerable .. innumerable = unable to be counted. I can;t count any.
As the former CM founder just said, "Do we even need root any more?" Why? Didn't he quit CM and go work for Samsung..... yeah he did.:cyclops:
And as i recall, also promptly quit Samsung.

I know my phone is faster than a stock S4, so I think root and AOSP in general has benefited my phone, yes.
Nothing like watching my S4-bearing friends drool over my phone.

So I've been trying all the new subway surfers on aosp based ROMs and it always black screens on me. There was a issue with games back in the day on aosp ROMs but was fixed, seems like nobody has a fix for this. The last version of the game to work is 1.11.0 and the game is now up to 1.15.0. Does anyone know how to fix this? Do the developers need to fix this in ROMs?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
does anyone have the game working on any 4.2 or 4.3 rom? i couldnt get either version of slim to play nice with it.
wanted to take a break from tw for a little bit but still want to play the game also...
So no one else has this issue? Really wish someone could fix this.

See i'm not the only one, I wish some Devs would fix it. Maybe Android 4.4 will have it fixed.
Wouldn't it be up to the game developer to update for more current roms? Seriously, write to the game dev, it couldn't hurt. (I'm not familiar with the game, but that's what I would try)

No, because the game works on 4.2/4.3 roms that come shipped on phones, HTC One, GS4 & Moto X. It only dont work on AOSP so means the devs that builds AOSP needs to be the ones to fix it.

I had the same problem with all the 4.3 ROM's I tried, and was a deal breaker for me. Testing out the leaked ATT 4.3 ROM and the game starts fine.
Hey Gang! I'm posting here because the section for app announcement is for paid apps, and this app is free...if I am mistaken kindly move the thread to the appropriate forum.
Drop is a proximity-based peer-to-peer file sharing app that is simple, fast, and secure. Drop just went live on the Google Play store yesterday, and it is the first Android app that uses a combination of Bluetooth and WiFi Direct to create a seamless P2P user experience. It is still an early release so there are plenty of kinks and interop issues, but we'd love for ya'll to check it out and let us know what you think so we can improve the product! You can grab it at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ekatasystems.apps.drop

It does seem like a great app. I think what would be better is if there is integration in to other apps, such as the gallery. Would make a lot of sense to be able to share things straight from the app you're in.
Otherwise I like it!
Also if you had a chrome extension to share to computers that would be great
