[KERNEL] beta name: "Morphine" (experimental v1)

Hello developers !!!
I want to introduce you first experimental KERNEL. It's stock source, and stock ramdisk., nothing done to it, just to proof build process.(it's working and booting)
It is not public release,it's only for testers!!!
I'm not working on this kernel, I simply uploading.
So if you do not know what to do, just close this thread.

Oh believe me, I have no problem with it...especially right now when there really is no development going on. I've just seen them delete placeholders in other threads, so I figured I'd just let the OP know.
Edit: Honestly, I'm not really even working on anything ATM because I'm expecting CM7 to come out before I even have a chance to post anything

Oh, Im sure that once CM7 is out, there will be plenty of other ports, but I guess all we need right now is the GB kernel... and that will probably come with CM7 ... But it would be nice to get a custom kernel, hopefully UV, so our phones can play nice

It's stock source, and stock ramdisk.
Just need to establish a working base before I can edit anything without a phone to test with. Going to be slow and painful for me more so than you.

Cyanogenmod 6 on GS4G?

I know we can't have CM7 on out phones because Samsung has not released the source code for Gingerbread but what about Froyo source code? if it has been released could any one port CM6?
I added a poll to see what every one thinks.

If you go to https://opensource.samsung.com/ and search for T959V, you can download 2 files named SGH-T959V_Opensource.zip and SGH-T959V_Opensource_Update1_Kernel.7z, I don't know anything about coding, but would this be the source code that is needed to port Cyanogenmod?

I downloaded the files to check but I don't know anything about coding so I don't know how to tell.

I'm assuming people would rather have Gingerbread with touchwiz than Froyo pure Google awesomeness since all the ROMs I see are touchwiz, I personally would rather have a pure Google experience. If enough people ask for it would devs port CM6?

I'd check it out if it was available....cm6 would be good compared to our current cm0....

Wow, never thought of this! Doesn't seem too outdated to me as I'm still on froyo. I would love to test this and possibly donate when i make a paypal.
If this is for real, im as excited as i was when i first flashed a rom to this phone.
Q to the devs: How hard would this actually be? And is it "possible"?

Why settle for something obsolete. Learn patience. Seems all people do is want want want, but I've only seen a handful of people actually put any effort.
All this "hey, here is a froyo source, I don't know what it is or how it works but I want a rom from it"
Good things come to those who wait! You won't get CM6. Nuff said. You'll get CM7.
Another reason. There are NO MIUI froyo roms, nor source, so you would be reinventing the wheel.

i know the feeling really lol like the 35 + pms i get some of them from the same people two or 3 times about hey can i have miui when u gong to be done with miui really it gets old quick..... we appreate that u love our work but this is a hobby not a job.. not trying to take away from what our getitng at just stateing i knw how u feel and can empathize with what you are saying 10000 percent...
im sure i could finish it up and make it for the most part as stable as a frankenstined build goes but updates? no not going to happen period not without a proper build and sorry no i love u all but im not going to port every update that comes out for it by hand...
so as kryon said why settle.... really why settle for an inferior cm 6 when u can have 7.1 and why settle for a inferor miui when once we get source we can do it right.......

P.S. I completely appreciate our dev's work, as shown from my signature. Reread my post and you'll see that I put, "awesome gb roms", which means i'm appreciating the dev's work. If i put something like lame gb roms, that's a whole different story. Don't put words in my mouth please.

I'm not complaining, I'm really thankful for all the great roms out there and realize most people don't have any right to say what roms you should make since most people just ask and don't donate, but it is my personal preference to have vanilla over touchwiz, I will be patient and wait, I never said there was anything wrong with the roms I'm using, and again I thank all the devs for spending the time and effort on making phones better than they already are.

I don't have any coding experience but if any dev wants to take me under their wing and teach me what they know, I'd really appreciate that. I can start by making a port for cm6 and when gingerbread source code is released I could help port cm7. If you'd like to help me out and point me in the right direction please send me a pm. Just wanted to state that atm other then working iwth miui station to get miui fixed and if bryan and FB need help pretty much all my sgs4g development is done its been a great ride some fun times some not so fun times.. Was here sence pretty much the beginning when all we had was stock nothing else. But like any piece of software there comes a time when well there isn't much else we can do. Once bryan gets cm7 working it will prob help me and miui station get miui working properly.
After that I wish u all the best of luck and see u in whatever device u goto...

Sorry to see you go bro. Thanks for all of the hours you put in. Your collaboration with Hawkx with Vahalla Black is IMHO the #1 ROM for the SGS4G, and the only "Themed" GB ROM that looks (AND RUNS) better than stock - it's been on mine and my wife's phones since you released it.

Lewa OS (miUI/CM7)
Its quite simple actually
Bryan's nd Max's CM7 as base hopefully nd then port from there.
I think alot of ppl will enjoy Lewa os

looks like Erikmm has beaten you too the punch as he has released a new lewa based rom ported fromm an 1900 but keep up with what you have going and maybe contact team acid for their help or you help them.

You just got kanged! LOL Maybe you should work together for it to get finished. This shouldn't be a bad thing. More people working on one work at the time could help get things finished faster.

I appreciate what these devs are doing to get ics on our phones. Quit being so pessimistic and ruining everybody's curiosity.

Don't ask for ETA. Ever.
Personally, me and a couple devs sat down and thought about starting a build.
We've got a half working kernel, but posts like "eta" always make us feel like dropping the project. It's extremely annoying.

How? If anything that would make me happy that people are excited and curious for the build to come out. Thats what posts are for tbh. To read and ask questions. If it bothers you so much I would just ignore the threads and work. I'm not trying to be rude but I just don't see why people being curious would upset somebody so much they want to drop all their hardwork. Anyways glad for the hard work you all are doing. Keep it up. A lot of people are excited and curious, nothing to get annoyed about.

It's just an etiquette thing towards devs. It's just impolite especially because it'll be out when it's out.

Evanizer, buddy, developers dont like "eta's" because if they answer to one, another pops up asking the same question, plus people use that as a definate and start complaining when its not delivered. When the time is right the developers will give us news, they are giving the most important asset to this community...their time.
All we can do , is give them support and now and again some support ...GOOD LUCK DEVELOPERS!!
