Hello everyone
I am an ex LG G3 user .I Used it for about 10 months and sincerely it was really bad and laggy I struggled with it Lol . I've just sold it today .
Now I'm puzzled between the Galaxy S6 and the Lg G4
both of these two phones are really fast and amazing but in numbers the Galaxy S6 wins .
I heard that the galaxy S6 become laggy after few weeks of usage . for who used this device please it that really true ? and what about the RAM high usage issue and ram consumption gets over 90% without running apps . Did samsung fixed in updates or still not .
I will appreciate it if you put some screenshots of your Rom usage either you have Galaxy S6 or LG G4
In conclusion what do you recommend to me if I want to buy a fluid and smooth fast phone dor daily use. LG G4 or Galaxy S6 ? and how was your experience with one of these flagship phones.
and Thanks in advance
I haven't seen any lag on my S6 after owning it for almost 4 months, but I tend to keep my storage pretty clean and only leave apps on that I actually use. RAM usage is fine. The issue with the S6, which owners are hoping will be fixed soon, is that apps get flushed from RAM too aggressively and they need to be reloaded if you leave and come back after opening several other apps. For me, personally, this hasn't been too much of an issue due to the apps I use, but your mileage may vary.
ONLY S6 !!!!
I had also the G3 but I sold it. I didn't even look the g4.
G4: Bad SoC and cheap materials
i have mu S6 for three and a half months, and it's been very fast, it stutters a bit but no lag,you have to remember that both the S6 and the G4 runs heavy UI, so both will lag after a while, i don't know how much but they will eventually, i think you should pick the one the suits your needs more, screen size, battery, UI, sd-card....
S6
your going to get biased posts on the S6 forum

Hi people , as the title says , i'm gonna get myslef a new android device but i can't decide which one.
I've had a Galaxy Note 2 for almost 2 years now and i love it but the lack of exclusive and usefull features (stock firmware) got me a bit bored of it.
That's why i'm asking you guys which phone i should get. I love touchwizz , i love it's simplicity but what i hate in tw is the lack of updates with samsung and even when we get new updates almost every samsung phones feels like it was a device from 5 years ago. On one side the Note Edge seems to have some great features to itself , not just the curved screen but the design and the S pen . But still , with all its specialties i feel like that if i buy the note edge i won't be satisfied because in less than a year it will be considered obsolete by Samsung and by brands that creates accesssories for it and i'll be a bit sad like i am with my note 2. On the other hand the xperia z3 has quite a few tricks in its "bag". The latest lollipop update without much sony stuff on it , a maginificent 20.7 megapixels camera , Xreality and other interesting and usefull features , the Z3 feels like it is still a big part of android overall.
However the z3 doesn't have a big screen like the edge(i love the big screen) and it does not have the s pen . So , should i get a note edge with less features but an s pen and a bigger screen or a Z3 with the latest updates and technologies a smartphone can propose but a smaller screen?
Please don't post trolls , i really need some advices because i'm lost , these phones are not designed for the same usage , one is a skecthy yet great swiss knife(note edge) and one is a classy organized "business" phone which can do as much as the other but in in a smaller perspective (z3)
The choice is hard so please help me.
Post scriptum : Sorry for the long text but i couldn't explain myslef without less words
Heya I have used both phones and I would say the Edge has more features than the Sony by far,
yeah the Sony has a better camera so if u need camera id recommend the Sony but if u want overall features then id go for the edge, (not that the camera on the edge is bad)
I have the edge myself and must say its outstanding and different from most phones! you also have the choice of the pen, you have lots of features on the edge screen itself and the screen is gorgeous and its size is just perfect in my opinion, as for lollipop and xreality the edge has lollipop and the edge gallery uses samsungs own image enhancing, as for sound quality its ok but could use Viper to make better if wanted, also u have face tag on the edge and you can also get themes for TW (small mod available on the forums)
Thanks for the advice , i hope i'll be able to get the note edge soon , it's quite expensive compared to the z3
First of all I have to admit that my opinion is completely biased and on top of that I have never even seen or used the Xperia, but with all of that being said I'd still suggest getting the Note Edge [emoji16] [emoji16] lol. It's hands down the best experience I've ever had with any phone I've owned, and like many people on here probably have I've had a ton of different phones. I know I'm biased though because as soon as I got the first Note phone that came out I was immediately hooked, and since then I've always said that the only phone I'll ever get from now on (as long as they continue to make them) will be a galaxy Note phone. This Galaxy Note Edge does not disappoint whatsoever and like I said before it's the best experience I've ever had with a phone.. Period!! Anyway best of luck to ya and hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as the rest of us Edge users do!! [emoji16] [emoji16]
Well i know there's a lots of reviews about this already and since these devices came out very early already. since i watched a lot of reviews in youtube and comparisons between those two devices. As i see microphone is pretty bad compared to the S6. OIS On some videos , G4 sports better than the S6 but for the most part the S6 does a better job than the G4. i'm really confused which one to buy actually because this is going to be my phone for at least 2-3 years or so. And battery life matters a lot also to me. They say S6 lasts longer than the G4 even though it has bigger battery. and i know
main questions that need to be answered.
- Can i tweak the microphone quality through apps?
- Is OIS Really better on the S6?
- Is battery better on the G4?
- How much SOT do you get in daily usage ? / In photography?
- Is manual mode better on the G4?
I'm also asking these because i am mostly going to use it as photography and videography. hope you guys help me out which one to buy.
Thanks

no fanboying please as i like both companies.
I want to know this too

Easy Voice Recorder is a great app for audio recording. But tweaking the microphone individually I don't know!
Manual mode better on G4, but camera quality better on S6 for both pics and videos!
Both have s#itty battery life. S6 maybe 15-30mins more sot. 5hrs sot is common for most s6 users here.
I prefer S6 camera because zooming doesn't reveal noises, but that's my preference. Go for Z5. Heard it's top notch camera.
But I bought the S6 back in May since I knew it'd stay untouched in 2015!
waiting for replies too

If you are planning on keeping the phone for 2-3 years you might also want to consider (you probably have, just mentioning it just in case) the expandable storage and replaceable battery. Expandable storage for a normal user might not be necessary but if you plan to take a lot of photos/videos for a few years it might be something important to think about.
As to answer your questions:
Manual mode as of this moment is indeed better on the G4. Marshmallow will bring the note 5 controls to the S6 in January approx, so you might want to check out the note 5 manual controls and compare them to the G4 because if you do prefer it, it will be available for the S6 soon.
SOT: My SOT is the average a normal user gets, you will find users getting 6+ hours, even 7 or 8, some with 2... but that is quite unlikely. For an average user you should be expecting somewhere around 4-5 hours unless you have bad signal. If you use the phone intensely or for more than a day you should be expecting around 3-4 hours, some people get more tho, but that's just not my case.
I can't really compare to the G4 so not much more I can say
I would look into the v10 over the g4 and s6, if the v10 is to big go for the s6, I just feel like the v10 is overall a better phone than both.
- Can i tweak the microphone quality through apps?
The LG V10 can do this while recording, you can select which mic you want to use and adjust levels.
- Is OIS Really better on the S6?
S6 had better OIS than the G4 but I dont think it is better than the V10
- Is battery better on the G4?
Both are horrible, you are very lucky if you get 5+ hours on the s6 with 3hrs being the norm and 4+hrs your getting lucky. I avg around 3.5hrs on thats with it connected to wifi 90% if the time
- How much SOT do you get in daily usage ? / In photography?

It is way better on the G4/v10

Wise choice! The S6 64GB is an excellent flagship and its price these days is very affordable! Put a dark/black theme like Weyo, put apps to always optimize in battery settings and get Package disabler pro for bloatware in unrooted s6 if u wish and u should be getting acceptable battery life!
And Ultra Power Saving is always here just in case!
Hello i am considering getting a S6 in order to replace my 2 years old LG G2 and i am really concerned if it can be considered as a worthy upgrade (can not go to S7 due to its price to be honest).
I am currently pretty happy with G2 (do not care about the camera) due to its battery since i am using the transportation means for more than 2 hours everyday. My needs are music streaming (4g) calls, emails, some games (candycrush at most) etc.
At the moment since i am out of the house at 7 am and back at 10pm, i return with 10-15% of the battery left.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Of course what are you waiting for , it's definitely worth. But to be honest to only thing the LG G2 is better at compared to the S6 is battery life.
Thank you, but the question is to what extend. Assuming that i need 80-85% of LG's battery during MY day, will S6's battery will be able to come through?
differece is not big in performance , i have two mobiels and i know this
but s6 is , except battery more powerfull
change not is necessary , my opinion
If battery is your main concern and don't care about camera at all, I don't suggest to S6. Use your G2 for one more year and get S7 later it got bigger battery, microSD, 4GB ram and waterproof.
Screen is S6 a bit better but to be honest G2 got one of the best screen even better than G3 and G4. Design is S6 better without doubt and camera way better but I don't think you will take it into consideration. S6 also got Gear VR which is fun if you like 3D gaming but again I don't think you need it.
There is a big difference in performance , better camera , fingerprint scanner and all sammy features , Quad HD amoled screen...etc. As i said before the only thing the G2 is better at is battery life.

Indeed he is just a light user(music streaming (4g) calls, emails, some games (candycrush at most)) .... SD800 is enough.

My S6 is still running 5.1.1 but after reading the comments of MM on this board, it seems 6.0.1 deliver good battery, I think it's possible to reach 80% of G2 or at least achievable when you enable power saving mode.
Thank you guys, i'll stick with g2 for some time and i will probably get a galaxy tab s2 that i was wishing for some time now .... Thank you for your suggestions
Hello.
So i have a chance to trade my used s7 edge for a used mate 9. I'm a bit bored with my s7 edge and looking for a new experience.
Will I regret it?? Anyone did this move?! Any recommendations?! Real life experiences?!
Thx.
I'm coming from S7, so I can share a bit of experience. Battery life not much an improvement ~4-6 hours SOT, depending on your usage scenario, games and videos tend to suck more battery than other phones (this is specific to Kirin SOC's). Speed and smoothness are still the same since the beginning , maybe improved through updates, it's not stellar but still one of the bests, in top 5 for speed for sure. Definitely better than S7 for speed matters. Dual camera is a nice feature to have, overall camera is good, but not execellent (much better than Oneplus 3T, which I've experienced). Coming from an S7 the low light will disappoint you a little particularly on moving subjects. One thing that should make you think twice is that updates come-out very slow on Huawei. Other than that everything is fine, maybe less errors and glitches that I've experienced on Samsung and the big screen experience is not matched by any other phone.
Hi everyone, please I plan to buy a galaxy s22 ultra, but most videos or youtubers talk about heating or overheating, advice before buying, exynos or snapdragon or which version, thank you in advance
I don't have any issues with overheating, never have.
Just look for your best deal between Samsung or your carrier with trade-ins.

First week with this phone.
I don't have any kind of overheating.
On the other hand, battery is sort of dissapointing, it lasts the same as my older phones (mi 10, mi 9, honor 8, nexus 5). Around 6 hours of SOT give or take. And the charging is slower than mi 10/9.

Does that mean other than that everything is fine? I hesitate between honor magic4 pro and realme gt 2 pro because I like samsung but I don't really know
whait for s23 ultra with sd 8 gen 2
Wait for the S23u with 8gen2, the 8gen1 and exy2200 are both inefficient.
I've got around 7 of these phones and out of them 3 had severe lag.
128gb seems to be the worst, higher memory seem to perform better.
Unless you are getting a bargain I'd wait for s23 ultra

Why? S23 is around the corner. From the leaks it will be much better in power efficiency, specially if you are in EU and stuck with the Exynos chip which i think sucks. I read Snapdragon takes better images and is more efficient (even if i read they get overheated also)....but much of that is fixed in the S23 that uses a updated gen2 chip.
S22U is a great phone but i'm dissapointed with battery and image quality still.
Compared to my iPhone images are a hit and miss. Sometimes they are awesome but sometimes they are grainy or colors are off or just blurry.
And as said battery drain is pretty bad. Like overnight dropping 7-8% compared to 2-3% on iphone.
Same when i use it, i can literally see the battery go down...
1. Notification bar is looking like it is a theme made 10 years ago.
2. Lagging and stutters is very possible, depends on unit to unit.
3. Phone does overheat if you planning to use an app that is a heavy resources consuption or badly optimized.
4. Samsung's devices are overfilled with bloat-ware.
5. Battery efficiency is pretty bad.
6. A lot of S22U were sent back for a replacement due to multiple hardware issues, for example mine is restarting by it self when a phone call starts (not every time) but at least few times a month.
7. Edges are not usefull at all but rather annoying.
8. Stylus has terrible grip, very uncountable to hold.
9. Speaker is terrible too, if you planning to listen to a music at full volume, stop.
10. It has very annoying notifications that are not important at all and unable to deactivate, for example (Messenger is using your mobile data).
11. Fingerprint scanner is ok but could be better, sometimes I have to touch it 3 - 5 times to get it registered (depends on angle).
I've been struggling with stutters, lags as well as audio stutters for several months until a big update came up. Scrolling through UI was extremly jerky.
Personally I would never buy a samsung's device ever again but that is just me and I understand other may be completely satisfied.
For older devices Samsung is releasing updates that are slowing the devices down so people have to buy newer products regularly. For me this is just unacceptable. This is a verified info that you can search for too.

I think it's an SOC issue on the s22u both the 8gen1 and Exy2200 are fabbed by Samsung foundries and are poor(Samsung foundries 4nm node was awful with low yields). The zfold4 with TSMC 8+Gen1 is one of the smoothest and fastest phones I've used recently, even much better than the Pixel. I don't think the issue is OneUI. I expect the S23u with the TSMC 8gen2 will be blazing fast and buttery smooth.
Might not be relevant to you, but I by now *regrett* buying the Samsung S22 Ultra.
The reason being that (depending on where you buy your phone) the firmware for your region will disable a lot of features. E.g. for me it is impossible to somehow activate the eSIM support.
And I really tried all the tweaks that are out there.
But you only notice these things after you've purchased the phone, because nothing about this is written in the manuals.
So my advice: Stay away from Samung phones.
Honestly, the s22 Ultra was a trash offering, regardless of the chipset, of course Exynos is worse. I'm trading it in for the s23 Ultra (I'm stuck with Samsung due to the purchase of a Samsung watch) and hopefully it won't be disappointing this time around. But to what I said earlier do be careful of what wearables you buy and from what brand, Samsung has great wearables, but half the features and functions usually get limited to their phones/devices. Unfortunately I didn't realise this when I bought my Galaxy Watch 4, and so now I'm stuck for at least a few years till I swap out the wearable and then the phone brand itself, probably back to Xiaomi.
I have the S22 Ultra snapdragon, great phone but some minor annoyances
. Battery it's not poor but could be better for 5000mah
. Speakers could be a bit louder
. And camera is rubbish at capturing moving subjects it always comes out blurry
I am in the same bought boat as you and bit the bullet and bought the s22 ultra 256GB. It's been 3 days since I bought it and honestly I am really satisfied. I had the z fold4 before but I found it impractical, the s22 ultra has almost the same level of performance with no noticeable downgrade. I have the snapdragon variant and it does not overheat. Battery life is OK, but it's too early to judge as it is still learning my usage patterns.
Overall I recommend buying the s22 ultra even though s23 ultra is right around the corner. Yes, it will have an effecient CPU, but I do not expect much from a single generation leap. A real upgrade would be s24 ultra as it is expected that the entire design will change
Don't plan on upgrading my S22U to the S23U. However if I were in the market for a new phone I'd wait another month and get the S23U. No brainer IMHO.
i agree with most of the reviews here. this device does not worth it.
can't believe it's actually rated as a Ultra/premium device
For all of you counting the S23U to be the perfect phone...did they not told us that the S22U was the best of the best?
Like the SD8Gen2 will solve all your problems...
I have both the S21U and S22U with the Exynos chip and both are running fine, no overheating, no lags or stutters.
From what I have read so far is that Android 13 with One UI 5.0 has improved a lot on both the S21 and S22. I had no complaints on Android 12 and have no complaints on the latest software.
Battery life...I can't complain but then I don't have any of the social media apps on my phone which seems to be using a lot of battery.
We have little to no bloatware on the EU versions and even then this is a one time solution, delete the bloatware.
At the end of the day its ONLY a phone. There are far more important things in life than this.

Yes, year to year I read about unveiled best and a lot of better from year old flagship.
And after few months opinion/ reviews about disadvantages and even features which previous model had better. For example low durability frame S22 series, worse speaker quality compare to S20 series.

Actually yeah, it will solve a lot, the performance will actually be worth the price tag itself, which as a heavy user I actually do need, it'll solve a lot of battery drain thanks to not being an absolute power munching ****show chipset like the current exynos, oh and I'll actually be able to get decent and stable fps with graphics maxed without the phone turning into an oven. Now lets not forget other things like photography and other stuff like that s22 ultra was a flop either way, but exynos took the cherry on the top.
