Workaround for flashing Oreo firmware by yourself

Stock firmwares of Android 8.x for Nokia Phones required OST LA 6.1.2, but you still can't use it even if patched.
Here's the guide of how to flash stock firmware with OST LA 6.0.4.
Prerequisite: Your phone has bootloader unlocked, check this guide if you haven't:

You must use OST LA provided by heineken78 , which provided in the bootloader unlock topic.
(Right click on the setup.bat and run with administrator privileges)
1. Download the firmware provided by blackpanther0582.
Skip step 2 to 5 If you're flashing Nougat stock firmware.

2. Use this unpacker to unpack this firmware into multiple files:

3. Use a text editor that supports Unix formats (e.g. Notepad++) to open the file with mlf extension.
4. Modify these values as shown below and save:
Code:
INITOPTION = 0x20000
INITDLTYPE = 0x60
SECURITY_VER = 0x0001
5. Use OST LA 6.0.4 to load that modified mlf file.
6. Check "Normal Download", "Clear user data", and UNCHECK "Check System AP status".
7. Put your phone to download mode by connecting your phone to PC when powered off, then click next.
8. You might see a prompt to tell you "Ask customer to try to unlock it first", it's for service point employees. Just ignore that and click Yes.
9. After firmware flashed, you might see an error with code 0xC6DA. Ignore that, close the OST LA and force reboot your phone by press and hold Power button for few seconds.
That means the phone flashing result can't be sent to FIH server.

I cannot click on "Edit Phone Info", If I click on the button, the OST LA does not respond. However I can click on "next" directly, but later I met an error -Download fails

After reboot. Nothing changed...
P.S. I just want to root my phone TA-1052 with slot A on sep SP and slot B on oct SP. :crying:
I have tried all the possibilities, even the downgrade does not works...

Whenever I try to unpack the NB0 (Nokia 7 plus TA-1046) file using the NB0 tool v3.4, it always gives me an error (see screenshot) and if I click on "Continue", it gets stuck in halfway.

I get the same probleme trying to unpack nokia 8 nb0 file with windows 7 so I switched to windows 8/10, and it worked but you could be a bit patient cause it freeze in work

Yeah it seems to be a problem on my PC. I gave the firmware to someone else and he was able to unpack the firmware.

My nokia 8 ta-1004 has been broken for about 4 months now, it's just frustrating, stuck at download mode and fastboot doesn't recognize the device.

Check if you unlock successfully critical unlock and unlock , when in the phone says "your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted"

No. Not yet...Bootloader got updated by Samsung to U2 and there's no way to install custom recovery yet...

If so then you possibly can using Odin flash of the TWTP recovery tar file in AP slot....

OK. So how did you install this firmware? You might be in that 7 day waiting period before OEM UNLOCK becomes available again...the key suggestion there is for you NOT TO reboot your device at all for the next 7 days till OEM UNLOCK becomes available again and then you can flash TWRP and then a custom Nougat ROM after that...
Check in Settings > About Phone > Up time how many hours your device has been on and subtract from (7 x 24)...that's the number of hours you have to wait till OEM UNLOCK should become available...

There's a trick I've read in another thread for jigging the 7-day waiting period...but I'm only 8 hours away from waiting out the period normally that I don't wanna risk rebooting it and then having to wait another extra 7 days
But some users confirm its working on the U2CRED firmware...
1. Turn on plane mode
2. Go to time setting
3. Change automatic update to manual
4. Change date 8 days back
5. Restart phone
6. Turn on dev options
7. Restart phone
8.Change back date to normal
9. Turn off plane mode
10. You should now have OEM Unlock visible in Developer Options menu ( if not repeat operation till you have it)

What I'd you have one unlocked, but download. Mode say prenormal?

Twrp stuck
Two days now i tried to install TWRP on my 955f with 2CRED stock firmware and my phone stuck on TWRP' s swipe screen!!!
No bootloop!!
No touch sensor!!
Just stuck on TWRP' s splash screen!!!
What's going wrong??
I know how to root a phone, because i had root every phone who was in my hands about 5 years from now.
Can anyone help me?

Maybe you have older version. I tried to root, flashed TWRP and supersu, after first reboot phone was not booting up and got message, only official binaries can be flashed. Then I flashed back official rom with Odin. I've got cred firmware version

I have the Same problem with my S8+ 955F
Help needed...I tried many firmware...Odin fails at Sboot.bin...I think my BL is broken..

Don't worry, try latest odin with latest firmware from sammobile.

Eu Tive esse mesmo problema com o arquivo BL o AP CP CSC Instalam se vc n colocar o BL so q dai sem o boot o celular n inicia e o aparelho aparecia erro de binario q meu aparelho estava com o binario 2 a atualização dele pro android 8.0.0 ja instala esse binario e a rom nogaut 7.0 para downgrade so tem com binario 1 por isso do erro e agr ja tem ate o binario 3 estou com a firmware g955fxxu2cred prguei na sammobile essa romdepois de ter ficado um periodo sem aparelho pq ele havia dado loop infinito na tela da samsungde boot pq tentei forcar uma rom nogaut 7.0 com binario 1 dai depois de dois dias estudando oq estava acontecendo q fui me dar conta e depois de muita pesquisa tbm tive q usar um arquivo combination tbm no binario 2 pra poder voltar do loop e instalar uma firmware nova q no caso usei a g955fxxu2cred e agr tbm to lutando pesquisando pra ver se consigo enraizar ou algum modo de aparecer de volta unlock oem mais ta dificil mais uma hr chegamos la....:rir::Boa::Boa::Boa:

This solution not work for me! My devices was bricked but PC still recognize EDL 9008 Com port. When press flash, Miflash said: "cannot receive hello packet"

They replace the motherboard. All people that i know of who have visited service center got their motherboard replaced

Hello everyone, currently after my bad decision to flash keymaster file form Note 7, my Note 7 Pro is dead and don't have heart beat.
After a while I see only EDL working via testpoint on back cover. Now am stuck between two option to pay 30$ for auth. account or find emmc file.
I know nothing is free but i will try to find emmc firehose mbn file. If anyone have idea where can find be kind to share with me. Thanks in advance!
I think the name of the file will be prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm675_ddr.mbn or prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm6150_ddr.mbn

No, no light, no vibration - nothing. Only EDL via testpins work, but need auth. account for flash. I think have another way to revive. I will wait some guru to see this thread.

This happend to me also i searched whole internet but sadly their is no firehose file for our violet available to bypass edl auth. I suggest the best way to reach nearest service center they flash it with mi flash via testpoints and its cheap not so coastly. Dont try to flash by your side alone u may trash ur partition tables situations may get worse.

Yes they are scamers and they use TeamViewer which may lead to hack your computer. So better is to rush on service center. Those good old days of redmi phones will never come back they are imposing more and more restrictions to devices.

my phones is also dead ....was trying to get back to miui 11 (android 9)from covrvus 6.5(android 10) because no sensors were working in corvus !
i got miui 11 but wifi was not working and sensors too ! tried flaashing many fastboot roms from offical miui sites but non of them fixed senors and wifi ! ...then tried flashing with old miflashtool probably 2014 version ... then flash system error came while flashing fastboot rom violet ....
then phone got switched off automaticaly ! and never started since then !
i looked up everything flashing with edl mode !
in miflashtool
earlier when bootloader it was showing "ceeee0ccc0" device name
now in miflashtool it is showing "COM20" or"COM10"
when i am flashing fastboot rom latest one with latest flashtool
it is showing "packet receive something something..." call paket ...etc
some time it shows "edl auth " then it ask to sign in my account after login ..
"Your Acount is bined to this system " but later ""Your account is not authorised for this operation !"
and hence the flashing stops with error !
if someone is seriously readying this you can reply and ask for screenshots
please ! i have lost all hopes ! i need some guidence and lil help !

Bro sadly there is no firehose file for violet. I had same issue earlier only solution is to go service center. They flash in edl takes just 10 mins charge around 180 rupees. U may try flashing via umt dongle or miracle thunder but i never recommendes that.

My RN7pro got also dead, I had to pay 1200rs to revive this phone by local mobile repairer. They flash it with UFI box. I made mistake no to go authorised service center. That technician looted me.

You can see SSN on our phone when you boot up ENG firmware just type urself to the editor.
Find the address mentioned and start typing from first 0 u will see the HEX changing and then verify it's correct and save

Can you check if your phone is being recognized as EDL maybe the drivers are installed wrong. I can verify that the files provided works 100% and you have to use left side type c of the Asus not the bottom.

SSN can be seen on the homepage of the mobile phone after flashing the ENG firmware, or on the packaging box of your mobile phone.

My ROG5 is being shown in Device Manager as Qualcomm 9008. So I guess it has entered in EDL mode.

Could you reinstall the drivers I have faced issues like this before with other Qualcomm devices. Reinstall Qualcomm drivers it should work. And remember to install with disable signature enforcement.

Appreciate your response mate! I will try again after reinstalling QCOM drivers. Could you please share that driver you are using?
Also, my PC does NOT detect ROG5 when using the official USB-C on both end cable. I have to use another cable with USB in one end and USB-C in the other end. Do you think that might be an issue?

The asuskey4 should contain SSN and ISN then only it will unlock. Make sure it's there and how come you lost your IMEI I tried this for 2 separate devices and I didn't face any issue.
