Stock firmwares of Android 8.x for Nokia Phones required OST LA 6.1.2, but you still can't use it even if patched.
Here's the guide of how to flash stock firmware with OST LA 6.0.4.
Prerequisite: Your phone has bootloader unlocked, check this guide if you haven't:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6/how-to/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-qualcomm-t3769930
You must use OST LA provided by heineken78 , which provided in the bootloader unlock topic.
(Right click on the setup.bat and run with administrator privileges)
1. Download the firmware provided by blackpanther0582.
Skip step 2 to 5 If you're flashing Nougat stock firmware.
Click to collapse
2. Use this unpacker to unpack this firmware into multiple files:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/nb0-unpacker-packer-tool-t3699464
3. Use a text editor that supports Unix formats (e.g. Notepad++) to open the file with mlf extension.
4. Modify these values as shown below and save:
Code:
INITOPTION = 0x20000
INITDLTYPE = 0x60
SECURITY_VER = 0x0001
5. Use OST LA 6.0.4 to load that modified mlf file.
6. Check "Normal Download", "Clear user data", and UNCHECK "Check System AP status".
7. Put your phone to download mode by connecting your phone to PC when powered off, then click next.
8. You might see a prompt to tell you "Ask customer to try to unlock it first", it's for service point employees. Just ignore that and click Yes.
9. After firmware flashed, you might see an error with code 0xC6DA. Ignore that, close the OST LA and force reboot your phone by press and hold Power button for few seconds.
That means the phone flashing result can't be sent to FIH server.

That's it.
Special thanks:
@heineken78 for providing unpacker and patch
@blackpanther0582 for providing stock firmware
@hikari_calyx how I can get an unlock code ? in the thread you referred to there is no payment method or prices or anything

Just checking if you tried and did it work?
It works

Edit phoneinfo
How do you check "Normal Download", "Clear user data", and UNCHECK "Check System AP status"?
I cannot click on "Edit Phone Info", If I click on the button, the OST LA does not respond. However I can click on "next" directly, but later I met an error -Download fails
SE_ERR_ADB_CMD_GET_FAIL_RESULT (0xC6DA).
After reboot. Nothing changed...
P.S. I just want to root my phone TA-1052 with slot A on sep SP and slot B on oct SP. :crying:
I have tried all the possibilities, even the downgrade does not works...
Whenever I try to unpack the NB0 (Nokia 7 plus TA-1046) file using the NB0 tool v3.4, it always gives me an error (see screenshot) and if I click on "Continue", it gets stuck in halfway.

Yeah it seems to be a problem on my PC. I gave the firmware to someone else and he was able to unpack the firmware.

Since a lot of weeks and a lot of bricks I’ve tested this solution. You don’t need an unlocked bootloader or rooted phone, you just have to pay 15€.
Before testing be sure you have the full firmware of your phone to go back if you need so.
You need :
DC-Phoenix
full firmware NXT-L29432B320
15 € credit for www.dc-unlocker.com
You will first use :
DC Phoenix New Account (it costs 15 euros for 15 credits to use for 72h after initial flash (small price to pay compared to sending to repair shop or having a useless brick)
An UPDATE.APP at your choice for your phone (AL10 or L29, both are interchangeable) -
This file with partition rework and factory firmware -*DOWNLOAD*
1. Make sure you have at least 30% of battery.
2. Open DC Phoenix and login with your credentials.
3. Put your phone in fastboot mode (Vol. - + Power).
4. Select «fastboot mode» in DC Phoenix and then go to the «IMG FILES» tab.
5. Select the «NXT-AL10_M00A102_Factory_firmware_Global_Nonspecific_A ndroid_6.0_EMUI_4.0» file and hit Open.
6. Click on «Update» and be patient. This should take 10 minutes.
7. Follow the log on the left. When it says «writing success», reboot your phone (Vol. - and Power until display goes off). The phone should normally boot into a Chinese-like ROM.
This would install a factory firmware, erase all data and re-partition your phone, after that you would be able to install a new ROM.
My phone was mate 8 DL00 3/32Go and was with NXT-C900B180, no update OTA.
8. Put your phone back in fastboot mode and select the «APP FILES» tab in DC Phoenix.
9. Select your UPDATE.APP, from the zip file you've downloaded, and hit Update. Be patient. This may take up to 20 minutes.
10. Again, look at the log for «writing success» line and then reboot your phone.
Now my phone is NXT-L29C432B320 and a new update is immediately available NXT-L29C432B330
Big thanks to djmitza222 who posted THE tuto to unbrick mate 8.
I was looking for a trick to change my international ROM by european one, I’ve tested his post and work's with a full firmware ROM. :silly:
If your phone is bricked see djmitza222's tuto
Just few minutes later I've received NXT-L29C432B560, donwload, install, reboot.
All seem's to be :good:
Whait and see
Hello,
I followed your guide, i'm started from NXT-C900B180 (unlocked) and at the finish I have NXT-C900B320 (!?!).
Where was I wrong? Are you sure that the zip NXT-L29C432B320.zip contains actually NXT-L29C432B320 ?
Thank you

Yes I'm sure zip contains NXT-L29C432B320, perhaps you must change oeminfo before, to be EU.
I've done this and after, unroot and install zip file with dc-phoenix.

Yes there is a guide (google is your friend ), but after you have unlocked and rooted your phone you just have to use SrkTools and change oeminfo.
See this tuto : How to switch to use stock firmware from other models
at SrkTool prompt use menu 7 and 9, choose mate 8 and eu ( 432 )
Some time you need to do reset factory default after changing oeminfo, just check after modification like test below.
I think your phone don't have vendor info, when you use this code *#*#2846579#*#* and network information query / vendor country info
If all is good you must see :
Vendor Country Info
Vendor: hw
Country: eu
Have a nice day

I think it's possible but you must Choose factory firmware for your phone in phoenix data base :
https://www.dc-unlocker.com/huawei-android-phone-flashing-factory-image
After flashing the factory firmware, all would be erase on your phone (exept oeminf and IMEI, so you must unlock your bootloader, root your phone and change country with SrkTools) and you should flash full firmware for L09 with the country you would like to have.
Flash a firmware just before the new one ( for exemple if the latest is B560 take the full B330 or 320), so you should test if OTA update works fine.
I've only tried the tuto at the top of the thread.

Sorry, I don't know what is happening.
My bootloader was unlocked and after the upgrade with DC Phoenix it was already unlocked.
I've found this :
u can fix it using the HCU tool to repair or reinstate serial/imei but you have to have that information at hand..once done repairing you can proceed to read the bootloader code using the same tool..at fastboot, the phone may already show that bootloader unlocked but all you have to do is unlocking the bootloader again using code received from HCU tool, via fastboot oem unlock XXX.

How do i do that, flash system, boot and recovery.img using fastboot without reflashing cust?
Hi, I have a honor 8 that bootloops I can only access to fastboot not in bootloader or recovery. Bootloader is locked, i can't flash anything and i can't unlock it because I don't have the Product ID. The dload and three fingers method doesn't work. What can I try to unbrick it? I can't even turn it off.

Which number of firmware you tried via dload??
Which firmware number you were on before issue??
When you say that the dload method doesn't work, what do you get when you try it ? You have to flash the proper firmware for your phone, otherwise it will deny it, you can maybe use a rollback package.
Try the Huawei tool ... U can fix it easily and you can play around don't panic it's the first thing ...

Alright I think this is a good point , now that you can use the dload method you need to know under which EMUI version you were because the phone won't accept a firmware that is lower or to high compared to your actual EMUI version.
What I did when I was in your case is flashing a rollback package downloaded from honor official site and then flash an old EMUI which is under Android 6.x.
After a few tries you can make it, I hope I've been clear, English isn't my native language

Ok here i go ... Open the Huawei tool ... And follow steps to install TWRP ...turn of the phone , once it's off hold the volume button down then connect the phone to the PC that would take to some type of fastboot ! Flash recovery the 2 option .... Reboot into TWRP .. from the Huawei tool u would see and option of stock i think there u can copy the recovery OEM info system and boot option flash them all one by one .... Reboot the phone ... And you would be redirected to recovery from WiFi and now it would work since u flash the OEM info now the phone knows what to look for u won't get the getting info failed ... And that's it just makes sure u have a good stable WiFi connection ...
And like a said the more calm and relax u do these the better the first time I screw the phone I almost get a heart atack :crying: it's easy

My Honor 8 broke after it downloaded and installed the very first update. Since the failed 'update' I am NOT able to access Android at all. The phone was stuck on the Huawei eRecovery screen which fails to connect via wi-fi and is unable to connect or retrieve any information from the server to update and repair the phone. I was able to use a 'roll-back' package and install the stock firmware (FRD-AL10), but since I have done the roll-back and restored the stock firmware the phone boots to the first screen where you select your 'Region', then the 'Language', WiFi connection, Agree to the Terms & Conditions, then skip the following steps for Cloud and something else - after all this it goes back to the 'REGION' selection screen, then again the Language selection screen and so on - it just loops and never boots into Android.
Thus I am unable to get the Product ID, the unlock code, etc.
The phone is still locked and UNrooted as all the other solutions rely on the phone being UNlocked and Rooted - but since I DON'T have access to Android I cannot do anything with the phone.
Can someone help me to retrieve the Product ID from an essentially 'DEAD' Honor 8 phone??

I have followed this 'dload' process to load the stock 'FRD-AL10 - ...C00B135' onto my Honor 8, it completes successfully then the phone reboots to where I have to select the Region, then Language, then WiFi, then agree to the Agreement, etc.. then the phone 'loops' back to the Region, Language, WiFi, selection and everything from start.
Is there a way to get past this 'loop' to the point where the phone actually boots into Android?? I cannot access the Product ID, unlock or root the phone.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks.
"Your device has failed verification..." after Firmware Finder update [SOLVED]
Hello to everyone!!
I have a problem with my Honor 8, it is the FRD-L09 model firmware B394.
I installed Firmware Finder from Playstore and tried to downloaded the B402 version, it downloaded a lot of packages ota and then tried to install the update without success.
After that, when I turn on the phone, there is this message. If I push the power button the phone starts.
I don't know if it can be useful but if I go into fastboot mode the phone says: phone unlocked and frp locked, but I haven't unlock the bootloader. The phone is new, purchase from the honor site.
Thank you in advance!!
EDIT: I was able to resolve the problem with the rollback guide of huawei, flashing MM via dload!!
When you update with FF, I recommend to use the change DNS thing. Just for the future.

You can try to reinstall EMUI on it. There is a guide called "back to emui from custom roms", which requires the openkirin twrp, though. Anyway, did you check that you have firmware access with IMEI?

When using either option, in System Update press the 3dot menu and select full package. This will download one large update rather than the multiple OTA files.

Typically you get this problem when you install an update without locking the bootloader.. This happened with me couple of weeks back.. I think happens, cos during the process of the update the bootloader gets locked, but it doesnt come up on the fastboot (donno why)
I just unlocked the bootloader using the OEM code and voila it worked... I was able to get ride of this message as well as root the phone.. Do try and let me know!

Yes the bootloader unlock code..
Ty to the folks over at the Honor Mate 20 Pro forum especially @mikeos we are now able to update our Honor View 20 to all available firmwares up to 9.1.0.248
Warning: Do not use this method to upgrade to Android 10, it will brick the device and there are currently no ways to unbrick!
Disclaimer:
Tested with PCT-L29C432, this method can cause SafetyNet check to fail, i.e. disable Google Pay, Pokemon Go if firmware higher than intended for a given region is flashed ***
This means if IMEI is not approved for installation in a certain region SafetyNet might fail, so make sure to enable "Show Only FUll-OTA and Show packages for current region" in FF settings to reduce the risk of flashing a firmware for a other region.
Would people that do not have PCT-L29C432 model please leave there model here so i can add them, many thanks!
Note that if your BL is unlocked, this method will lock it!
People without USB adapter can also use this method to upgrade to approved region firmware updates but make sure only to use Full OTA packages!
Cust partition (region) will stay original based on device oeminfo. C432 wil stay C432 after upgrade and so forth.

Hi TerrorToetje
What Firmware have you Downloaded with Firmware Finder? I use http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G4552/g1755/v281097/f1/full/changelog_base.xml
http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G4552/g1755/v281097/f1/full//update_full_base.zip
But after flashing and booting in Recovery it stops at 5% with an error and restarts the Phone
Is app launch speed difference relevant with the improvement they made?

Ty to the folks over at the Honor Mate 20 Pro forum especially @mikeos we are now able to update our Honor View 20 to all available firmwares up to 9.1.0.229
Disclaimer:
Tested with PCT-L29C432, this method can cause SafetyNet check to fail, i.e. disable Google Pay, Pokemon Go if firmware higher than intended for a given region is flashed ***
This means if IMEI is not approved in certain region SafetyNet might fail. My IMEI was not approved but I still pass Safetynet on latest firmware.
People without USB adapter can also use this method to upgrade to approved region firmware updates but make sure only to use Full OTA packages!
Cust partition (region) will stay original based on device oeminfo. C432 wil stay C432 after upgrade and so forth.
Usage:
Make sure to uninstall HiSuite first if installed.
1. Install HiSuite 301 (Do not run after install)
2. Install HiSuite patch
3. Replace XML file in (C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\HiSuite\userdata\UpdateDogDev)
4. Unzip HStool to c:\
4. Copy rom "update_full_base" to c:\
5. Disable Internet
6. Copy C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\host to desktop and remove or comment out 188.225.84.142 query.hicloud.com example https://pastebin.com/haquj6Tr
7. Copy host file back to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\
8. Turn off the phone
9. Hold the volume down button
10. Plug-in the USB cable while still holding the volume down button until you see fastboot
Usage: run HSTool on c:\ and follow prompts.
Requirements
- HSTool
- HiSuite-9.0.2.301
- HiSuitePatchInstaller
- Modified XML to recover Honor View 20 using HiSuite
- Downloaded full firmware using huawei firmware finder (update_full_base)
Dowloads:
- HSTool:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-pro/how-to/manual-upgrading-mate-20-pro-bl-locked-t3905924
- HiSuite

PCT-LGRP2-OVS 9.1.0.229
But make sure to download it using FF, and remember only FullOTA-MF packages.

Is the SafetyNet check based solely on IMEI? I noticed you mentioned that your IMEI was not approved but SafetyNet was still fine after the update but I'm not sure about risking my own device.
My device is also a PCT-L29 C432, checking firmware access on FF for PCT-LGRP2-OVS 9.1.0.229 FULLOTA_MF says that the firmware is "not approved", so presumably I'm in the same situation.

No it's not really the IMEI but the device fingerprint, the device firmware needs to be Certified in order to pass. Sometimes certain firmwares are builded for internal testing with other fingerprints (Not approved by google), if you have the same device and and planning to go to 9.1.0.229 I cannot think of any reason why you would not pass saftynet. PCT-L29 C432 + PCT-LGRP2-OVS 9.1.0.229 FULLOTA_MF firmware is "not approved" for installation but you will pass saftynet. However if we would force flash a firmware from a other region well that might change things.
There is a setting in FF to only show packages for the current region, those should be fine.
Best Regards,
How will then I update from this firmware I think it's will not be working

No what I'm asking is if I can then update to newer firmware by ota? Or how it will be done
Nevermind, I did two things and I don't know which one fixed my issue, I disabled my Antivirus and moved my "Documents" folder into its original location "C:"
Update is done.
I am now on Magic 2.1

Ota will work once the newer firmware gets approved for your region, otherwise using this method is an alternative method.
Hi everyone, about two weeks ago I upgraded my OP7Pro to the OS12, that's the GM1913_11_H.30 build version.
In the forums I found some confusing info about what version is (i e. I don't know if this us a MP2 version) and how to downgrade to a better OS of this phone version (whether or not it is enough to download the firmware and just flash it through Local Install from the phone).
As the OS12 version is presenting issues about VoLTE and mobile data deactivation during the calls, I'd like to install the old 10.0.10 OS version, as it corresponds to the 10.3.7 Global/India version that looks like the most stable as many users claim..
However, I do not know how to rollback with no issues and no roots.
Please tell me the most reliable way to do that.
Many thanks!!!

However, I discovered that my carrier doesn't support the VoLTE of my phone and I'm thinking to buy another with 5G feature and VoLTE enabled with my carrier...

Ok, thanks my friend. Elsewhere told me that there could be issues related to the Security patch level going backwards so much. What do you think? Are there real risks?
