Hi there everyone...
I am an Xperia L user
I am frustrated by its lagging, force closing and weird activities thats happening in my phone after using it for 2 years
I never rooted it or flashed any custom rom
I am not an heavy gamer but an heavy user
So as i am frustrated by this crap, i want to root it and flash an awesome rom which is available for this crap
I like to multitask a lot
Switch between app to app frequently
Soo can somebody please suggest me a good ROM for my type usage
and the reason i am flashing is because of the laggy and slow ness of the phone
So please suggest me
A Good ROM (Bugfree)
A Good Rooting Tool
If this is not a good solution then please suggest me a good solution to fast up my phone
Thanks in advance
I've been using CM12 and it works well ,no bugs ,very fast and a good looking.
And about opening new a lot of apps and navigate between them , in CM12 it's so easy .
CM12 is horrible at multitasking (lollipop in general). If you want to do heavy multitasking on your phone, then consider buying a new one.

Want a good overall experience upgrade to kitkat(not LP) , Believe me battery standby is excellent way better than any LP ROM(close to stock one), and multitasking is better too as Kitkat has better RAM management but don't expect too much, want to multitask harder get an ASUS Zenphone 4GB variant , I have every used CM12.1(latest) Resurrection etc, (I hardly used this phone as its my secondary phone now). I am on Omni-ROM final build with Thunderzap 4.16 and TWRP, and for GApps search 20150412-minimal-edition :silly:. BTW About GPS Issue : GPS works fine :good:
I am going to attach screenshot of battery info.
Oh my god i thought i was the only one, it gets lagging, not a lot, but i could notice it, few months ago, it's still as smooth as solk, but now it's a bit sluggish but not that annyoing to me

So... My J performs a little... bad. Most likely that I got that retarded faulty one. My RAM is never above 150mb free, mostly around 100mb. Antutu benchmark was around 4000 if I remeber correctly. Games are not performing well (and I'm not talking about über games). FreeCiv crashes quite often, probably because lack of RAM. Etc. Is it known to be like that? I'm all stock and JB. Would CM10 help me? And also, what is that actually? What does it change?
Thank you.
CM10 will help, i think that. For me, help a lot, just try, i will never back on stock, its my opinion. Try the new version FXP220 for J.
Games like Ravensword2 or other 3D working well.
I'm running stock JB and root my phone, then delete some useless applications like Facebook, Timescapes etc. Now my phone running fast & smooth, I've use cm10 for sometimes but its not as smooth as stock rom, and my first concern is the camera quality,
Stock rom has like 10x better quality.
Also stock rom has better battery performance.
not trying to have negative tendency to CM10 or something, but its just a comparison based on my experience.
If you want to use cm10 its your call

There are lots of mods you can do if you would like to stay on stock install V6 SuperCharger + boost my xperia app they work really well together. Like mikey000 said uninstall or freeze unwanted apps google maps and facebook are the biggest ram eaters and as soon as you have killed them in running services they restart almost instantly. and have as little widgets as possible on the desk top will help aswell.
Depends on games too sometimes.
Subway surfers lags like hell but most wanted is really smooth for me. Poorly optimised games need better hardware

you should try CM10 .
free up lot of memory space.
i love it CM10 <3

first of all think of what you want from your phone and then decide
If u want smoothness in your ui and overall performance root you phone and deleted some unwanted bloatware system apps
if u don't care about smoothness but favour performance go with cynaogen mod as its a minimal ui and much better performance...
PS cyanogenmod is just stock pure android with lot of customization options from overclocks to performance tweaks
HIT THANKS IF IT HELPED

Those are basically performance scripts which provide various performance tweaks like ram management and all
I would suggest if ur a newbie to root and stuff u root and delete bloarware apps and see the performance if ur not satisfied flash custom rom like cyanogenmod and then if still not happy then play with scripts like v6 as scripts are bit complex

That's not totally right a percentage of ram is set aside for user apps and games which are never cached by the system so the free ram is needed and heavy games need a lot of free ram to run propperly. Evan cached system processes are killed after 30 minutes by android by default so free ram will change up & down as its killing processes just to restart them again the system is wasting ram. Zepplinrox's v6 supercharger changes this as one of it's features from 30 minutes to 24 hours so the system uses less ram and has more free ram for user apps and games.
Running the scripts is not rocket science there really easy read the original thread if that seems intimidating then read the noob tutorial which goes through step by step.
Some influential users such as @androidnerd2 @2010matej and some others prefer to keep or always restore to stock. So my question is to YOU!
Why you keep stock while you have some rooms that considerably improves the performance.
Simple
Better battery life and performance ratio.
Modded stock is far better than a custom Rom

Stability. Yeah, I dont get jb, at least I can play hd games properly, and I get to keep the warranty (waiting for year 2015 warranty expire). And if miro / any other 3g video call phones, I get to keep this stock function.

Yep I agree, because of that I said that when we have stable CM release then u may notice the performance increase.
I had live with walkman for 2 years before my XE , I used CM 10 & 10.1 most of the times.
Anyway I think that Sony JB firmware is very successful compared to ICS.
Its only my experience with Sony so other useres may have different opinions.

3. Most important is " Sony UI ". I have a sony phone just because of that. I must have bought a Nexus or something if I want to use cm.
Unless and until someone develops a fully working with minimum bugs cm rom I'll be using stock.
Well I don't know how to build a rom otherwise I should have build one a long time ago.

Uhuh there is my name mentioned
Yeah, like other say there is much stability, not so laggy. But this isnt for all phones. For example. I have xperia x8 and without custom rom, hpone sucks but for xperia j there is differrent!
And the biggest reason is, stock camera has better quality, take picture faster, panorama working great, video is working great. I really like stock Sony UI + themes + statusbar...
Its a lot of things why to use and stay on stock rom!

1 reason for me. The video capture on CM10 don't work on Xperia E. Now i'm back on stock rom, rooted it, and remove all the bloatware. CM10 works a bit faster, but i'm happy to have the video capture back...

Some ROM too big and eat too more RAM.
Flash the ROM by CWM must carefully.(you will hard brick your phone,if you start to flash ROM without clear data )
Different ROM also have different battery usage.
So,the conclusion is use the stock Rom very safe.(stock Rom stability and a few of bugs)

Supercharge aka BLACKDOG, Its a tweak. It sets such as a LMK (Low memory Killer) of OOM (out of memory).. If you use that script + kernelized(Blackdog stuff) using Script manager it can boost your device performance..
There is a lot of tweak in XDA. But Blackdog is one of hell, the OP @zeppelinrox is legendary one..

Hi there,
I am sort of new to rooting and have never installed a custom android operating system or ROM yet. I would like to put on something with Android 5.0 if possible, but if none are out yet, which is the best ROM to put on my LG G3, and a tutorial to do it?
I want to use all of the eatures of the phon still as well.
Are there lollipop ROMS out yet for this phone, and if not should I wait for it?
Thank for your help.

I too am using Cloudy and find that the top half of the phone doesn't heat up as much. There's an eco mode you can turn on as well. Not sure it that's what's going the trick, but I've kept it on because the battery life is great now.
As for the lag, have you tried flashing Pure Performance X? It's made all the ROMs I've tried snappier (including Cloudy).

I'm using Viper for my third day now. The first day the battery drained really fast as google processes was raelly active, but the last two days ive gotten over 4 hours of screen on time easily and it's definitely been an improvement over stock for me. I havent played any games but phone did not get hot watching youtube vids.
I am not familiary with pure performance X, looks interesting though.
Hi all
i had my OPO for 2 months now
and i decided to root my phone and try some custom ROMs and kernels since they're so popular , so last month i rooted my phone and take a spin on those famous ROMs and kernels ( partly is also the touchscreen issue and random reboots are driving me nuts ) i won't specify what ROM or kernel i am using though
first impressions when i had a new ROMs is that , there's nothing much that is different i though things would be faster snappier with a new kernel built in but ...my OPO did not , my phone did get more stable but it did suffer from multigesture issue once and force rebooted 3 times in the span of 1 month , but the biggest issue is that my phone keeps getting systemui has stopped working , multitasking button gets bugged one too many times , wallpapers constantly missing when i unlock my phone and animations are very clunky
so yesterday i decided to go back to stock just to remind myself how stock feels , using NANdroid backup i restored everything and...
stock 44s feels so much better compared to custom ROMs which begs the question
why do people deviate from stock ROM on OPO ? stock cm is pretty sweet , I understand rooting the phone to get xposed etc but custom ROMs just don't feel right on the OPO ...so is it just me ?
still props to all the devs out there , no offense just my 2 cents
I think if varies for the phones and locations, but I was getting some pretty beastly battery life, smooth/fast experience with vanir and Franco. For some reason I just didn't like stock and was not getting as great battery life. I've tried many things and some are good, but there are better (to me at least). I'm just running Lollipop now and can't seem to go back to kk.
It all comes down to ones preference really...
Sent from my A0001 using XDA Free mobile app
wait , isn't cm12 for OPO currently a little unstable? i really wanted to give it a shot but i fear that it is too unstable for a daily driver
Working fine for me; I don't think it is to the point where it can't be a daily driver. I'm really liking it so far, the Lollipop experience feels really nice and smooth.
Check comments from others on the threads to see the kind of issues they're having. Devs are doing daily builds so as days pass it gets better and better.

Sounds like you didn't do any kernel configurations at all to experience changes.
On AK, with Synapse and UKM, you can change numerical values to configure how the phone handles processes. Default kernel settings aren't optimum for every phone.
My settings consist of: slim (300-2457), CPU boost driver (10ms, 1574MHz, 30ms, 1190MHz), CPU Volt (-35mV), I/O sio @ 1536KB read ahead, drop caches, laptop mode, Vibrator at 25, Fast Charge at 1500mA, C1 (Retention) disabled, 120 second Wifi Scan interval.
With those settings, it makes a HUGE difference compared to stock, as well as fix bugs (screen artifact/tearing) before they were fixed on the latest firmware, and increases battery life by 1.5 times stock.

I have the same questioning but without any problems that you had/have/ My phone works perfectly ( crossing fingers ) and i've had it since July. I always used to ROM my S3-S4-S5 to get a new feel of the phone, but with the Oppo i don't see the reason to. Maybe it's because CM is pretty near pure stock Android, and that's what we get when we switch ROMs on big brands.

OP, it is not just you. Folks who mess about with custom ROMS, as the other posts here share, do so because they can customize the total phone experience, leaving things off, and putting other items on, to their liking. Giving that the background OS is stable, and the apps a person selects are stable, there should be little to no difference in 'performance', overall, due to the apps. However, you may get performance differences because there are less TSR's currently running in your system, so more memory is available, etc, which can make mainline apps run faster.
So many reasons to do custom apps.
As you said, and I agree, CM is a nice, generally smooth OS/ROM. I am coming from an LG G3, which I like very much, but to customize (remove all the junk), and fine tune (remove Google calling home = less battery live, etc), it take's some time to setup those conditions. With CM, most of the junk is not present at the onset (AT&T largely). Much more clean. I would like Google to be disassociated from CM completely, so that it is an add on only, providing better control of the base CM. I would like this in an official CM ROM/official variation.
That is the reason I have/am switching over to the OnePlus. I have tried a few custom ROMs as well, and the stock CM seems to have the best stability, reliability and consistency, to date. I suspect that will change when a large update comes out, such as L, and a great amount of energy goes into that development. I just changed from 38 to 44 last night on three OPO's. It took 5 minutes, or so, a piece, and all of the data/previous apps, setup etc, stayed with the updates, making for an all too easy update.
Awesome. Next will be "L". I will wait for the CM official, as that will likely be the most stable, as I suspect it is getting the most attention from the CM team, at this time. CM is a pretty nice OS.
Hey guys. So after some time I had to come back to my one s and decided to flash some 5.0.2 goodness. Now that this is working I'm asking myself: How do you keep your One Sses responsive. Lollipop doesn't drain the battery more or less than previous versions of android...
Which rom / kernel do you actually use? Have you checked your battery stats which app needs most energy? May be gapps are buggy.
