Hi XDA community,
For the past few days, I've been having a notification that pops up randomly (attached in the scree'shot below), saying "Find previous" and detailing "location request from". Obviously it doesn't tell me which app initiated this request, and when clicking on the notification it just goes away.
My location settings are set to "battery saving" most of the time (ie when I don't need the GPS) and I can't figure out which app causes these notifications. They have been appearing randomly, and increasingly over the last day or so.
Any idea where this is coming from? Can I get an idea of what app issued that somewhere (logcat? Anything else?)
Thanks!

Hi,
The sound of my moto G is sometimes automatically muted and I have no idea why.
It's not the agenda.
It might come from an app but I have no idea which.
Is there a way to find out ?
Check the app Assist (from Motorola). Mine mutes the phone at 11pm.
Also, when the phone is muted because of the app I get a notification that allows me to disable the app.

thanks,
I never opened it.

It is still possible that this app acts in the bg ?
I really don't know if this is your problem.
However checking it isn't gonna hurt.
Go to Apps - Assist - Options (the three little dots on the top) and then check if everything is unticked.
If this ins't the culprit then you probably have an app with permissions to change this. Good luck finding what app is messing you around
I think It was battery doctor

had no problems in 3 days
Today I noticed a weird issue: when I'm on WiFi, notifications from Whatsapp arrive with a bit of delay that can vary from 10 seconds to 2 minutes. When I'm on 3g/4g it's all good. I tried Push Notification Fix but it seems the correct time was already set (5 minutes). Unchecking "optimize wifi" made the notification quicker, but not immediate as on 3g.
Does it happen to some of you, too? And do you know a fix?
EDIT: Gmail and Inbox are delayed too :/
No one?
I have a similar issue. I get no notifications on WiFi. Its not until I disconnect and then go to lte that all my notifications come in. Not sure what's wrong

I think I found a fix: settings-wif-advanced- and uncheck "wifi optimization"

Thanks for the tip, ill check it out.
I'm having the same issue despite of trying the above fix. I've noticed that it happens when the phone is in deep sleep. Also, the notification led never lights up in this case which is even more annoying. The late messages fix which is basically the heartbeat fix from whatsapp is also not working. Any ideas anyone?
I'm most likely going to repair or flash another ftf file but before I do that I want to know whether anyone else is having the same issue.
From time to time I kept hearing my phones notification, but when I check it there isn't any notifications I thought my mind was playing tricks on me. Today I have figured out it was "themes" that was causing this, I cannot seem to block the notification nor stop this random notification sound from it. Just to be clear again, there are no notifications from "themes" i dont know why it shows on the list but it is definitely causing this problem.
Anyone else experiencing the same issue? or help check whether "themes" is shown on your app notification list?
the following shows the most recent app notification
Settings/sound and notification/app notification
also refer to the attached screen shot for your reference.
thanks
EDIT: same thing happening on my xperia z2 tablet
Got the same on my 6603. Stock UK, lb and unrooted.
Random notifications, maybe twice a day.
Themes is the second item in the "most recent" in App Notifications.

im on D6603_23.1.A.0.690_R4C_Customized US_1288-7827, "second item" means it is pretty recent, the "most recent" goes in chronological order. This is funny, must be a bug in lollipop, need to inform Sony
Audio bug
I don't have that bug with the France firmware but I have a similar problem: when I'm watching videos in YouTube and one notification appears, video volume decreases and does not increase again
When I have my mail program on the PC open and it detects a spam message and deletes that, the phone is making a notification, but because it sees the message deleted near instantly, the notification is immediately removed. Maybe you have something similar happening.
Seem to be having issues with apps that use push notifications. Like my email app(nine) or the ESPN app. It seems I get sporadic notifications instead of the constant ones I am suppose to get. I am constantly missing emails because of this. Most of the times I end up opening the email apps and the new emails download instead of being pushed when they are received. Same thing with the ESPN app. I have it to alert me with scores of certain teams that I follow. However I don't get anything until I open the app. Once the app has been open then I start getting the score notifications for about a hour and then again nothing. It is almost as if the apps are not being allowed to operate in the background.
Nevermind. Fixed the issue.
What was the fix? Having the same problem.

Go into Mobile Manager. Swipe left at the bottom and select Permissions. Then select Auto-start Manager. From here you need to toggle the issue apps to "allow". My educated guess is this is keeping the apps from opening to send the needed notifications. That is why everything back logged drops when you manually open the app. Wondering if there will be any ill sided affects if I disable mobile manager.
I have searched and searched and cannot find a way to do this, so hoping someone has the same issue.
I have a home security app (Blink) that notifies whenever it captures video. I want it to do this.
But, we have builders in at the moment - I need the security cameras to stay on, but I get notifications all day.
I can disable the notifications entirely i know, but I forget to turn them back on.
Is there any app / tasker / similar way I can create something which will pause this app notifcations for say, 3 hours?
Thanks

Well, you answered your own question. An app like the Tasker app should be able to do what you want.
Or simply use your calender app to set reminders to turn on/off notifications for that app.

So how would I do that?
I know how to take action from a trigger say (i.e. plugging in my phone), and I know how I'd turn on DnD
but i'm not sure:
a) how I would say, create an icon to do this on my home screen
b) Turn off the notification status of a specific app
c) then ensure it came back after x amount of time
Thanks
