Hello, thank you for using XDA Assist.
Go to Google Now Settings –> Voice –> OK Google Detection and enable hotword detection from any screen.
If it didn't work then try THIS GUIDE
if still not working please do tell us

Well after having the problem myself, I began to notice that many other people had problems with the Google Now hotword detection (the tool where you say "google" or "ok google" and it opens up voice search). Here's how to fix it:
1. Download the latest update to Google Now, if there is any.
2. If you are not on English (U.S.) change it to so. (Some users are experiencing problems wiyh other languages)
3. Download the latest update to your language. (U.S.- ver. 28 22 mb.)
4. Make sure hotword detection is on (obviously)

Done all of the above including wipe, reflash with stable + gapps, change voice typing from automatic to English US.
Still no hotword activation.

my phone was in english but google configuration settings (from web page) were set to my own country, i had no hotword, i just hit settings ->voice->language while on google now and selected English US
and that was it, now i have hot word, i only wish the hotword from results still worked with xposed
This is what I meant by search only. The box says Search. Saying ok google or google has no effect.
Using EFS explorer, it seems there are two separate locations for Google Search. /data/data/android.google.quicksearch and /system/usr
with two separate hotword.symbols file.
Thanks. Its Works.

Here, this is what Instagram Support said:
Instagram said:
We're aware of an issue where some people get a "Device not compatible" error message in the Google Play Store when trying to download Instagram, even though Instagram should support the phone. Google is currently investigating this issue with Google Play Store.
As a temporary workaround, Google suggests clearing Google Play Store's data from your phone and then trying to install Instagram. To do this, go to Settings > Application Manager > All > Google Play Store > Clear data.
If this workaround doesn't resolve your problem, please let us know.

Yes it is
Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Store > Clear Data
My tip: Reinstall your ROM
If the playstore is showing error, just download the instagram apk from slideme app store and install it manually.

Hi, this should be an easy problem to sort out but first I'll need to know which gapps package you used, that is the zip file you flashed after the ROM. Also which ROM you're using would be helpful too. Could you please state exactly what's broken here? You mean that you can't sync I assume. If you tell me this then I'll be able to help
@dusanesp the solution appears to be to force close freedom, however if you require further assistance you should post in the Q&A forum as there are many more users and RCs there to help. Good luck
Hi guys!
I got a MI 4c last week while I was on China. But now I'm facing a problem, I installed the play store, Google services, also the Google Contact apk and Calendar...Even though, I can't get my contacts from my Google account synced.
Anyone knows how to solve it?
Checked the Miui forum but couldn't find any help.
Thanks!

How did you put Playstore on it?
I think you should have erased everything and install Xiaomi.eu directly to start fressh with no problems...
Is your bootloader blocked (by installing a recent dev Rom)?
It's simple, just downloads the apks of play store and Google services, install them and reboot.
I prefer to use the Chinese rom, but I need my contacts back :/

Have you tried to check permission of Google apps? Maybe try to give autostart to play services... If nothing work I suggest you to download and flash Opengapps...
Hey
Just install Google Contact Sync. Will work.
Found somewhere a Google Downloader from a miui forum, and installed Google Contact sync and it worked.
Thx guys

Has anyone had success flashing or editing build.props enabling Google Assistant? And is "Ok Google" responding? Please explain how you enabled or which XDA topic link.
I'm currently on 7.1, see my signature below.
