Google Now Hotword Detection Fix - General Topics

Well after having the problem myself, I began to notice that many other people had problems with the Google Now hotword detection (the tool where you say "google" or "ok google" and it opens up voice search). Here's how to fix it:
1. Download the latest update to Google Now, if there is any.
2. If you are not on English (U.S.) change it to so. (Some users are experiencing problems wiyh other languages)
3. Download the latest update to your language. (U.S.- ver. 28 22 mb.)
4. Make sure hotword detection is on (obviously)

Done all of the above including wipe, reflash with stable + gapps, change voice typing from automatic to English US.
Still no hotword activation.

my phone was in english but google configuration settings (from web page) were set to my own country, i had no hotword, i just hit settings ->voice->language while on google now and selected English US
and that was it, now i have hot word, i only wish the hotword from results still worked with xposed

This is what I meant by search only. The box says Search. Saying ok google or google has no effect.
Using EFS explorer, it seems there are two separate locations for Google Search. /data/data/android.google.quicksearch and /system/usr
with two separate hotword.symbols file.

Thanks. Its Works.

[Help] [EOS4] [French] no offline voice recognition in french system EOS 4.2.2

Hi
I'm running EOS nightly 112 with Kat Kernel 103 on my TF101 B70
Installed Gapps for 4.2
I can't find an option to download files for offline voice translation/recognition neither for English, nor for french
My system langage is set to be in french, as my keyboard, TTS and all langage stuff.
Surprisly, when my new phone come yesterday with andoid 4.2.1, I was able to activate offline voice recognition in french out of the box!
If someone know why my TF101 cant do it, I will be happy.
Asked twice in EOS 4 subforum, but nobody even pay attention to it, so I resigned to post it in a general forum

Try this:
1) Go to Settings from menu.
2) Choose Language & input from there.
3) Under Speech section, touch Voice Search.
4) There in voice search settings, you will see option Download offline speech recognition. Touch it to download offline voice recognition data.
5) Select ALL tab. Now you will see the list of languages. Touch DOWNLOAD in front of your desired language to download the offline voice recognition data in that language.
6) You can download the offline voice recognition data in multiple languages. To download in another language, repeat the same steps as above and download it in another language.

Works great on my Note 3 (4.3 stock rooted), no FC's so far. On my Note 8 (4.2.2 civato's ROM) the only issue I have is when I hit the home button and go back to the home screen, the keyboard pops up. Minor annoyance but so far so good.
Working on N4 along with wallpapers and Voice Search.
Thnx!

That didn't work. I can search with English UK, but if I change it back to US it still force closes.
Edit: Change your voice to UK, then go to offline speech recognition and delete and reinstall the English (US) recognition pack. Do a search as UK, then change it to US. It works, and "ok google" will work from your homescreen.

UPDATE 1: Google Search Force Close fix:
Long press the home screen, select Settings. Select Voice. Select Language to change the default. Change to another language, for me I choose English – UK. Hit Home. Do a Google Search. Repeat the first three steps. Change back to English – US. (you may have to redo this step every time you restart --- if you experienced FC --- for non-rooted users)
OR
Please extract and replace the /system/lib/libgoogle_recognizer_jni.so with the one downloaded from here: . (permanent fix --- for rooted users)
UPDATE 2: "Ok, Google" search feature fix:
If anyone has a problem with the "Ok, Google" search feature, you have to get the English (US) language update. Under Google Now settings, tap "Offline Speech Recognition" --- "All" and tap "English (US)" to update. After it is done, press home and it should be working! If you've cleared data on the app, it'll erase the update and you'll need to do this again.
Didn't Work for me so I moved GNow and Launcher to System and now works perfectly
Thank you for all the support this community gives me! (Unlike I9300 )

There isn't a root issue.
It is because you rebooted. If you have root you can put the lib file in the post and it's going to be fixed!

For 100% work launcher on Xperia 2011 you needed Android 4.2.2 and higher .
This launcher only works with 4.2.2+ or 4.1.2 samsung roms (idk why)
