So, i'm now using Hells core kernel, and i want to revert it back to stock kernel, because it seems doesn't have doze
So, what i'm gonna do is just fastboot flash boot.img right?
No need to wipe dalvik, cache and data right?
Sorry for such a noob question

I am currently using CM10 Rom with Marmite kernel 8.3+
Performane wise it is good, but battery has been a big problem for me, as the stock 4.1.1 sojuk was way good in battery performance..
My phone has TWRP recovery and I have the official stock .zip file for my phone (Nexus S M200)...
The question is that flashing firmware via recovery is recommended or not? Will i brick my phone or what? Will my phone work perfect after flashing stock firmware via twrp? I dont want to use the fastboot method pls...
Need the answers fast

There are few stock ROMs in development thread which are flashable via twrp/cwm, you'll not gonna loose your recovery.

Can you please get a link to the post, as I wasnt able to search it...
Though, I found the official stock rom in .zip format (100% confirmed)... should I use this ROM for flashing? Loosing recovery or root doesnt matter... i can get that back anytime...

Just flash it via TWRP if that's more convenient for you.

I quoted just one question and i answered straight. Besides, your phone won't work perfect if it's bricked lol.
So yea, that question and that answer is sufficient for you to calm down and JUST FLASH IT. :good:
I was planning to flash the franco kernel because I hate this yellow (warm color). But i was wondering how do i go back to stock for warranty purposes ? can i simply flash the stock rom then unroot using Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.7.8. do i need to wipe phone when flashing kernel?

One you buy the Franco Kernel updater app, back up the stock kernel, and then flash Franco. In the case you didn't back up your kernel, you can go to the stock kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518816 and flash the zip in recovery.

I would re-flash the recovery and the cache.img. If that doesn't work, try another recovery like TWRP or CWM and see if it works there. If that doesn't work, try flashing the factory image.
from my experience the nexus 5 dosen't support mounting via recovery..

So you dont want me to help? I give you the answer and you throw it back in my face?
...and yes, you should know how to fastboot flash any partition before rooting. Its in the "read this before rooting" thread stuck at the top of this forum. If someone tells you to flash a cache.img - you should no what that means. If someone then tells you how to do it, you shouldn't come back with ridiculous comments.
Some people aren't worth helping. You'll receive nothing from me again.
No I wouldn't have replied in the s4 forum. I had an s3 and I would have replied like this too. You're supposed to arm yourself with basic knowledge before rooting. Everyone here is sick and tired of helping people who can't be bothered reading sticky threads.

Hi,
Does reinstalling a rom reset the dalvik/bionic caches and adreno drivers?
Because I change my rom a lot, and I don't want to reflash the other zips everytime I change my kernel.
Cheers,
Sir Zeph

Hi,
Yes, you need to reflash them (Adreno drivers, Dalvik and Bionic patches) each time you flash a rom, they are overwritten even with a dirty flash. Unless your future rom include them.
When you flash a kernel no it's not necessary, they are not on the kernel side.
