One you buy the Franco Kernel updater app, back up the stock kernel, and then flash Franco. In the case you didn't back up your kernel, you can go to the stock kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2518816 and flash the zip in recovery.

There are few stock ROMs in development thread which are flashable via twrp/cwm, you'll not gonna loose your recovery.

Though, I found the official stock rom in .zip format (100% confirmed)... should I use this ROM for flashing? Loosing recovery or root doesnt matter... i can get that back anytime...

Just flash it via TWRP if that's more convenient for you.

I quoted just one question and i answered straight. Besides, your phone won't work perfect if it's bricked lol.
So yea, that question and that answer is sufficient for you to calm down and JUST FLASH IT. :good:

Are you wiping data when you flash the rom?
If you don't have any important stuff on your phone, I would just flash the factory images and start over with the rom process.

Well since he's flashing a rom, it would be rooted and the bootloader unlocked.

When you flash the ROM it also flashes the kernel that comes with it.
So if you are using Mahdi ROM then everything is ok but if you try a different ROM you get the error constantly?
using the ClockworkMod recovery.
If you receive issues on flashing, double check your download. If nothing, I suggest using the ClockworkMod recovery.

The type of recovery you use will have no bearing on it, hundreds of people on here use twrp and cwm.
All I can suggest and it was suggested before is to wipe your phone completely and start over again. Something went wrong, clearly.
Hello, everyone. I am able to overclock my GS3 without doing anything special (like installing a custom kernel), but I cannot do this with my Nexus 7 (2013). I did use Heimdall to put stock 4.4.2 firmware on my GS3 and then restored it to factory defaults. Is this why? Thanks!

So, i'm now using Hells core kernel, and i want to revert it back to stock kernel, because it seems doesn't have doze
So, what i'm gonna do is just fastboot flash boot.img right?
No need to wipe dalvik, cache and data right?
Sorry for such a noob question

hey guys, finally got MM to work but recently i started experiencing random reboots. Saw about two other post talking about reboots but, no fix or further discussion on the issue.
anyone else experiencing this?
is there a fix?
Also i noticed the benchmark on Lollipop was much higher than Marshmallow. Any advice?
It's a beta, there's nothing you can really do about it. I get them and they're annoying, but I installed a beta build, so such is life.

Without a kernel source, there isn't a way to fix it. I like what I see with MM, but this build isn't ready for prime time yet. For stability, OJ5 is your best course of action.

i suggest you backup your internal sdcard before going back to OJ5. i've gone back to OJ5 twice and each time, i ended up having to factory reset with the stock recovery, which wipes everything, including your sdcard. for some reason, when i factory reset and wiped via TWRP (after flashing OJ5 via ODIN) phone would not boot. just sharing my experience...
Thanks for heads up will try

I had the same issue but i loaded twrp and deleted most of the folders except download, clockworkmod, titaniumbackup and dcim folder using twrp mtp and it stopped boot looping but backup is always safer

It's honestly because of the difference between OS versions. That's all. Factory reset in default recovery, and you're good.
