[Q] Samsung duos i8262 - General Questions and Answers

Hi All,
I've i8262 without an external SD card & lots of images & videos were there on the phones internal memory.
For some reason (a kid accendentally) factory reset the phone & all this data is lost.
I've tried to use some of the recovery tools like Recuva, Android data recovery, Remo recover, Wonder share etc & all of this did not recognise the Internal memory connected in MTP (Portable media player). Only other option is connect as Camera. There is no way to connect as a USB (for a drive letter to get assigined), that above softwares could detect & recover.
I thought rooting the phone, I could get a drive letter but the 50+ webpages I've checked told to install only one software Framaroot (latest 1.9.3) which has got a Trojan virus. Theres no other tool to root it I've seen.
So, Is there a way I can recover all the lost data after factory reset & how can I root it first(any other software)?
Android version: 4.1.2
New to this group, so posted the question in general. Please move it to the appropriate one, if this isnt appropriate.

[Q] Help can't use 2Go of my smartphone

Hello,
Phone: Samsung Galaxy trend light "Fresh" (GT-S7390)
Android: Jelly Bean 4.1.2
(sorry for bad english)
yesterday i've installed foldermount in order to transfer some games from internal SD to the SD card,
when i've launched the app, it said that "some files are corrupted press ok to fix" so i pressed ok, then it said "restart your in order to use foldermount properly" so i restarted my phone.
here when i tried to open the sdcard folder, it shown that there is no folder "empty".
i've tried every thing to access to these subfolders in sdcard0, but i failed.
so i've wiped all the system, data, cache...etc, to install a stock rom downloaded from samsung-updates.com, using odin 3.09
when it finished i've turned up my phone, it said that there is no space available, when i go to the storage settings i find that :
total space 4Go
system's memory 1.6Go
apps 105Mo
Audio 0.092Mo
Misc. 2.16Go
Available space 139Mo
but the problem is when i connect the phone with pc, i see (in windows 7 x64) that the phone has only 2.84Go
4Go minus 2.84Go equal 2.16Go
tadaaaaa
so there is an unused or used (i don't know) space in my phone that i can't access to it
please help
(sorry for bad english)
Resolved
Just went to:
Settings\ Backup & reset\ Factory data reset

[Q] Recover deleted video

I accidentally deleted a video of my dog playing with her puppy litter that has now went to new homes. The phone is Samsung Galaxy S5 Active with android 5.0. Is there a way I can recover the video? I am not rooted but would be willing to root if it wouldnt overwrite the data. Have tried a couple PC programs but they can't detect the phone since it connects in media device mode or camera mode, not USB mode. Thank you!

Connect it to your PC and use any Recovery Software like Easy recovery pro or any other free software you can get your hands on and then you can easily recover it.

If the video was in your SD card then just connect in to your PC with the help of card readers.
In this way it'll show a new drive and continue with your recovery software.
(In this way you do not need to root your phone)
If the video was in internal memory,
DiskDigger, Undelete are the apps you are looking for. Both needs root.
They are available on play store.
They dig into your internal memory and recover them
Just the thing is, the data shouldn't be over written.

The video was on internal memory. How can I root without overwriting any data? thanks

I don't think there's any root available for lollipop.
Still you should check on your respected mobile forums.
Just search your mobile with vendor (AT&T/Verizon/Sprint) on XDA and check forum for rooting.
PS: I suggest you not to root your phone. As it is risky and if your noob you may brick your phone. Everything this, just for any video

Recover internal storage data (HTC One a9)

Hello everyone, this is my first post here so I'll try to explain my problem correctly.
I had an issue moving data from internal storage to SD, I tried moving it using the mobile app and not saving a backup with the computer... so it seems that I've lost all that data.
I just wanted to recover my pictures and I've read and tryid many guides.
First of all I started rooting my device, with it rooted I installed some apps like "undeleter" but they didnt work.
Other times I have used a software called Recuva for these purposes but I can not select de Internal Storage device... it seems that I need to put my device in MSC mode but I have tried all the USB options and any of them worked (yes, I used usb debbuging).
¿Could you show me how to be sure that I work with MSC mode on my HTC One a9?
Which guide do you recommend me to follow in order to try recovering my files?
Any free/open-source platform that I could use?

Galaxy S6 file recovery failures- a grand list

Verizon samsung galaxy s6 got factory wiped, I tried a variety of solutions to recover the files, all failed. In case anybody else is in the same boat and attempting the same thing, here are the details to save you some trouble.
Model number SM-G920V
Android version 6.0.1
Build number MMB29K.G920VVRU4CPC2
Google- 15 gig limit. I'm trying to recover the files that were created after reaching the limit.
Rooting- as of today I'm unable to find any method of rooting this phone. All research and sources indicate it is currently impossible thanks to Verizon + Samsung shenanigans.
Program Failure reason
Aolor Data Recovery Fails to detect phone
Coolmuster Data Recovery Requires root
Dr Fone failed
Easus Requires root
Fonelab Requires root
FonePaw Android Data Recovery Recovers a few recently deleted files, but otherwise requires root for deep scan
Hdata recovery Not sure if intended for android devices
ilike android data recovery Requires root
MyJad Can’t detect debugging turned on
Pandora Recovery Program fails to function
Power Data Recovery Requires sd card
Recuva Only works with devices with drive letter assigned
Remo Requires sd card
Tenorshare Android Data Recovery Pro Requires root
My pain is your gain! Or at least, my pain is your lack of potentially wasted time. There is no gain to be had here. :crying:

[Completed] Decryption Issue Ext SD Multimedia

Ok, here's the story, I encrypted my Phone(LG V10) and SD. I went to upgrade the devices so I removed the encryption from the device. I have full access to the SD(read/write), but the multimedia files on the SD are Read Only(with a square instead of the check box). My new device is rooted and I tried several recovery programs, but since its readonly I cant recover them. I even inserted SD into a PC and used CMD to attempt to remove the attribute, but it returns soon as its remove. I even tried to use Total Commander, to change the permissions and they wont stick either. Im stumped, wondering if anyone had any work around?
Hi !
There are some missing info in your description. It would be great to mention the android version , ROM version ( stock or custom), as from KK some sdcard permissions access has been changed , marshmallow also has a different implementation
A workaround may be by using HandleExternalStorage module for Xposed
Or , save your files and reformat the sdcard in windows using a third-party application , Gparted , Easeus , Paragon
Good luck !
