[Completed] Decryption Issue Ext SD Multimedia - XDA Assist

Ok, here's the story, I encrypted my Phone(LG V10) and SD. I went to upgrade the devices so I removed the encryption from the device. I have full access to the SD(read/write), but the multimedia files on the SD are Read Only(with a square instead of the check box). My new device is rooted and I tried several recovery programs, but since its readonly I cant recover them. I even inserted SD into a PC and used CMD to attempt to remove the attribute, but it returns soon as its remove. I even tried to use Total Commander, to change the permissions and they wont stick either. Im stumped, wondering if anyone had any work around?

Hi !
There are some missing info in your description. It would be great to mention the android version , ROM version ( stock or custom), as from KK some sdcard permissions access has been changed , marshmallow also has a different implementation
A workaround may be by using HandleExternalStorage module for Xposed
Or , save your files and reformat the sdcard in windows using a third-party application , Gparted , Easeus , Paragon
Good luck !

Unable to reformat exFat after formatting with CWM recovery.

Hi,
Recently i was testing out my memory card with exfat, to try to get larger files on the device. I changed the sdcard to exfat on windows 7, then i tried using on the phone and realized it was not compatible. I then rebooted into CWM recovery and tried formatting the sdcard, which it succeeded.
However, I am unable to change the format back from exfat to ntfs, fat32. Windows reports "unable to complete the format".
I tried several tools including mini partition tool and many others. One tool said the mbr is corrupted or read only or something of that sort.
Even though I managed to get the SD card mounted in the phone. Following : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155363
Most apps wont recognize it, including file manager.
Please help.
Info:
Device : i8190l
Android Version: 4.1.2
Recovery-CWM-I8190-Official-TOUCH-6.0.2.7
i read that using recover tools to format AND partition may cause performance issues (slow read/write), however i don't know if this affects formatting only (it doesn't seem so)
however it sounds like you might have wiped that "special" partition on the card (and i'm not entirely sure that this is same as the MBR)
all you needed were the right key words - try a web search using: windows sd-card "unable to complete the format" - looks like many others have had and solved the problem
if that fails, take a look at GParted (sorry - not allowed to post external links as a new forum member)

[Q] Bloody hell, is there no way to copy back stuff to the SD Card?!

Why hallo there peeps!
I have rooted my Z3 and before that I copied everyting from the internal and SD card to my Macbook through Droid Nas and it worked flawlessy. The problem is to get it back... Is there no easy way to do it??? The infernal horror way of blocking writing to the SD card after Kitkat 4.4 is just pain in the ass :/
I have been searching and trying but havent found any easy way... Sofar the only way Ive found is to copy files to the internal and then copy it manually back to the SD card..
There has got to be a better way than this?
Install xposed and download the module kitkat sd card full access to fix

Have you tried just browsing a network share from File Commander and using that to copy directly to the SD card?
I haven't tried this yet myself, I just use USB to copy stuff as its faster but I think File Commander has better access to storage being the system file manager.
why not use a card reader for the sd card? the issue with kitkat was applications/data writing to the sd card unless the fix was applied, from what you are saying you are having issues copying from the computer to the sd card when its in the phone

Well I know that works but I want to get it working to copy directly to the phone the freedom and access ya know.
I tried last night with File Commander and it worked fine.
Set up a a share of the music folder on my HTPC.
I then used the Local Network function in File Commander with the following settings.
Domain: workgroup
Server: HTPC/Music/
User: (username)
Password: (password)
Server name is just the name of the network device and the name of the shared folder.
I was able to copy over folders of music from the HTPC to my phones SD card directly over wifi. It wasn't particularly fast though but both devices are on wifi.
File Commander could be a bit better at selecting multiple folders at a time though and whiles it's copying, you can't use the app for anything else.

http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer I used version 2.6.1 on mines for T-Mobile Z3 and it works flawlessly give that one a shot.
Gutdamnit, I cant get no xposed to work. I tried the latest , 2.6.1 and it says:
"Xposed is not (yet) compatible with Android SDK version 21 or your processor arcittexture (armeabi-v7a).
CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE: could not load library "libdvm.so" needed by "/data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/cache/app_process"; caused by library "libdvm.so" not found"
What to do?

Download FolderMount. Run it, grant it root access, and then let it patch the system to allow full write access to external storage. After the phone reboots and you've verified it works, you can uninstall FolderMount.
Finally got it working, checked out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811 and installed the Alpha release and it worked
So know I got Xposed working and all the mods I want, finally!
Thanks for all the help peeps! :good:

Unroot Android (remove symlinks by Link2SD)

Before posting this, I tried looking at other forum threads and over the internet in the last week, but could not find a solution so far.
I have a Huawei Y300 with Android 4.1.1. It was rooted and was pretty much fine except for some issues (they happened in time, are not caused by the rooting itself). Meanwhile, I changed the SD card and the defects include:
- cannot set contact photos (it stops when it tries to crop image)
- cannot change theme (it shows it empty and says "internal storage full" - which is not true, plenty of free space shows up in app manager)
- can't use file manager - doesn't see anything from Local
- without a card in it, gallery and camera don't work at all
I did a factory reset and cleaned the davlik folder, but didn't change anything.
The problems come, I think, because Link2SD creates symbolic links to some folders, and those folders are not the same in a new card. For instance, when I use Root Browser and click Properties on some folders, I get:
Path: /sdcard
Symlink:/storage/sdcard0
But, when I use phone's File Manager, it does not see the files from "storage0", it shows only files located in "storage/sdcard1"
I tried to do a system update, by putting a firmware zip (or app) on the card. But it does not see it there, because it sees what the symlink tells it to see. So I'm stuck in a loop.
Because it was impossible to make Link2SD see the new card, I used another phone, with Android 4.4. After endless attempts, I got that phone to see the two partitions on the card and function. (I had to make Link2SD system app and chose ext4 for second partition.)
I took the card back to the problem phone and only sees the first partition, not the ext4 one.
In Link2SD storage info it shows:
Internal (69% free)
SD Card (unmounted)
External SD (93% free)
Second Partition (not found)
System (33% free)
Cache
When I click Recreate mounting script - it says sd card not found.
Relink files: /data/sdtext2 not found
I basically would like to get the folder structure back to the original settings, maybe use the phone without card or with a new card, with or without rooting - just the simplest way possible, but to be able to use photos for contacts and wallpapers.
update
After numerous attempts, I managed to get into recovery mode from Link2SD (the same ) and started firmware update.
It lists doing some operations, but very soon it says wiping cache... and installation aborted.
Should I try with a different ROM? This one is from Huawei website, official, general version.
it's done!
Not that anyone answered, but in case you have the same problem: it's fixed!
Again with Link2SD. Made a third partition on the card, than in Link2sd click the left upper corner for more options. Scroll down for Restart. It gives options for recovery. Deleted everything with the two options to wipe cache and I don't know what else. And than chose restart from volume keys and upper button as enter.
It didn't do an upgrade, rather a downgrade to a previous factory version but i'm happy with it.
Won't risk another rom change.

Samsung S7 fd930 Wierd problem!

Hello.
As a new member i can't post messages in Custom Firmware topic,so i've been sended here
Here is the problem.
I have installed SuperMan 2.0 Custom ROM,with Super Stock kernel with SuperSu root,Android 7.
And somehow i cannot transfer games (OBB files for example) to SD card.I tried to use App2sd,i formatted sd by using instructions into two sections Fat32 and Ext4.Program should transfer games(or other apps)to second section of card(to ext4),and this section is succesfully is mount and also mount OBB files like no problem, but games no working! App2sd don't gave me any errors, consider app info it's should be work fine, tried different games no same resultŠ±no working after transfer OBB to EXT4 section of sd card by using app2sd.
Then after some failed tries, just decided to go back to usual FolderMount.
After installaton i mount games OBB derictories as usual(not first time using this app),app didn't gave me any errors too.
But when i tried to launch any games....no one works.
The only system app i installed is a Lucky Patcher, and titanium Backup, that's all.
So i have a feeling that something wrong in the ROM,something blocking to emulate sd as internal memory for files, coz Foldermount always did worked before without problems.Or maybe it's Android 7 some issues?
Maybe someone could have any idea how to solve this wierd problem?
Thanks.

Modified LG E400-boot from external sd?

Hi guys! Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong place, I'm new here. So basically, i have an LG E400 (i know its a really old phone, i don't use it as my regular phone) which has been modified so it can not be used in the regular way (i wont go into the reasons its been modified, its complicated). The USB port has been modified so it cant be connected with a pc (it will only charge), the cell and wifi chips have been removed so it cant be connected to the internet and the system modified so i cant install new apps (if i try to install apks it says the application google play store (process com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly. Also, its somehow made to boot and run off external sd, if i take out the sd the screen goes blank, if i try to switch on without sd it just shows the LG logo. Recently i installed linux file systems for windows by paragon software on my pc and using it when i put the sd card in my pc it shows 2 hidden linux volume partitions or whatever its called. in there is the entire system or root or whatever it is (sorry, if this doesn't make sense, I'm new to all this stuff).
So basically i have 3 questions.
1. How was it made to run from sd card?
2. Can install apps by putting the apks in the root or sd or whatever it is? i googled about it and it seems to be possible but i would have to change permissions, is it possible to do that on pc?
3. Can i fix the google verification thing so i can install apks in the regular way?
thanks in advance!
AFAIK it's not possible to boot Android from an external SD-card this because when the phone powers up the Boot ROM code starts executing from a predefined location on NAND which is hardwired in ROM, and you can't change that.
Are you saying that my phone is impossible? what about a custom rom? i don't know if it has a custom rom but if i go into about phone, it shows build number palmoid 2 which as far as i know doesn't exist so could it be a custom rom made the company that modified the phone?
